    Hi Guys,
    I put this video together to show you how these S3XY buttons from Enhance work and improve your driving experience. Check their website for full details enhauto.com/
    I haven't been paid for this review and I purchased this accessory myself. I was so impressed that I wanted to make this video for you to see all of the functions that they offer. A 5 minute review just wouldn't cut it and if you have bought them already this video will help you with the setup. Feel free to skip throughThey are continually adding functions for these buttons so there are probably more by now. Enhance are also working on making the buttons cloud based so they can function without the commander plugged into the OBD port. The functions would be limited to simple things like open/close trunk, doors, charge port and frunk etc.

    The phone mount I used for the dashboard was from Amazon but Enhance Auto have a better one that sticks to the steering column cover and sits closer to the wheel. Here is the link anyway:

    Brilliant review! Answered all my nerdy questions. Showed me extra useful features I didn't realise they had (like long door handle pull). For me I'm getting them for battery conditioning because I love regen and just had a NZ winter of limited regen and also pre-heating for the majority of chargers in the South Island (even makes a difference on the old 50kw ones). Cheers mate.

    • @notinthemanual
      @notinthemanual  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Glad to help. Yes the battery pre-heat is useful. Unfortunately the car even tries to heat during 25-50kW DC fast charging eating into an already limited speed. Yes normal battery precon only heats to approx 20degC so it’s useful to top that up to 30.

    • @notinthemanual

      Thanks. Yes, the OBD adapter that the buttons connect to inputs commands directly into the car’s CAN-BUS network. The main screen on the car does the same thing but it will ask you for a PIN first if set. Some things do show up on the main screen when activated like Off-Road (snow mode).

    I just bought these buttons, having fun setting them up. One cool thing is you can have rear fog lights on, didn't know that was a thing! I love the smart features, holding door handle opens trunk/charge port, and turns off autowipers. I have one button to pop open the rear passenger door for my kid. So darn useful!

    These are the solution for project Highland. Take two buttons and put them on the back of the steering wheel exactly where the hands are positioned. Them you can easily reach them to activate the indicator lights. Even in roundabouts it will be easy to reach them.

    Hi. The main reason I bought the buttons, was annoying AUTO wipers. It works mainly ok, but sometimes it try to forced wipers back to AUTO when use autopilot. With adaptive cruise control, it works fine. I have set one button for -50% regen (its useful in winter..)

    One concern I have is whether accessing the canbus like this will void the car’s warranty. I like the idea, esp for me being able to control the wiper speeds. Also that display is nice 👍🏻

    • @notinthemanual
      @notinthemanual  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s a valid concern. It doesn’t void the car’s warranty as a whole by fitting it to the car but if Tesla can prove that a third party accessory has caused a failure of another component then yes they won’t cover that specific component under warranty. This is why it’s best to remove it if your car goes in for service to save any wrong interpretation of the warranty policy by Tesla staff. It is also important that any accessory that taps into your car’s electrical system is high quality and fitted correctly.

    Great video!
    So the regen braking toggle works even though that ability has been removed within the car?

    • @notinthemanual
      @notinthemanual  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. It overrides that. The screen in the car is just an interface to the vehicles CAN-BUS network. The S3XY buttons controller inputs commands directly into the CAN-BUS. This is also why the functions don’t show on the main screen when active.

    Can you use the button to activate autopilot(with steering on)? Just one click and autopilot engages? And also for cancelling it?

    • @notinthemanual
      @notinthemanual  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes & Yes. If you live in the US you can also use a button to clear the nag instead of touching the steering wheel. This is how some of the FSD Beta TH-camrs seem to drive without touching the wheel. It works by imitating the right scroll wheel. This does work for some other countries you just need to test if your scroll wheel can cancel the nag.

    Can these button set up to adjust chairs?

    • @notinthemanual
      @notinthemanual  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not that I know of. There are some components running on a different can bus network in the car like cameras and such. The seats are probably in this other network. I am not sure if the new location for the commander gives access to this. If they were able to access it I would say it would already be a feature. I’ll ask and let you know.

      It's best to remove it before you take in for service though just in case. It's just like fitting any other accessory. Tesla would need to prove that the accessory caused the warranty issue.

    There are no security implications with a wifi network being always on, modern wifi is very secure.

    • @notinthemanual
      @notinthemanual  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I agree but it depends on how you setup the wifi. I don’t use ScanMyTesla on iOS so I don’t need to have it unnecessarily broadcasting a wifi hotspot. Bluetooth can be much less secure without extra security steps when pairing.
