Thanks BTG! I love my S3XY Buttons! Perhaps my favorite feature is I can use a button to turn the headlights on. This is very cool because it remembers. It turns the headlights off when I get out of the car and turns them back on when I put it in gear. IMO it is much safer to drive with the headlights and taillights on. This hides the smoked ppf I put over the headlights (while I'm driving). I also use a button to disable regen. This can be helpful on icy roads but I use it to dry off my brake disks after I wash the car. I'm so used to one pedal driving it's really weird to drive without regen.
I just got my gen 2 buttons and sadly found out the wiper speed controller functions have been taken away for the 0.5 increments in wiper speed. This was the main feature I wanted because I live in a rainy environment. Everyone please reach out to the developers and ask them to enable the incremental wiper speed functions once again. It's in the UI but the wipes only actually move to the 4 speeds and auto. Please help us get this back. Thanks for your support.
Is it possible to have one button toggle one rear seat heater? So one button to toggle between low, med, high, off for say the rear seat behind the driver?
I would get this but my rear ac 7” panel is already using that port in rear. Is there a way to piggy back the sexy off another port somewhere up front ?
Great review. As a new Tesla owner, my biggest gripe is the auto wipers. If I have the ability to turn on or off the auto wipers while Autopilot/FSD is enabled, this will make me a happy camper!
As with most of the Tesla commumity. The wipers are a PITA. Also being able to just turn on the high beams without using Auto. The touch of a buttom vs nudging the steering wheel in auto pilot is also a win/win. It's on my list, after I replace my coilovers.
Such a great review. It's super helpful to be able to shut off auto wipers and auto head lights... Since Tesla haven't managed to make those to things work properly and still forcing them to be on with FSD it's a bless to be able to manually be able to "kill" these two things.. Then of course plenty of other functions right on a button is awesome instead of digging around the menus even though menues are good.. Still driving safety and swiping screens are not the best combination.
Does the Commander app show power usage of things like AC/Heat/headlights in the power consumption on the left side or is that only power consumption of the motors?
I’ve been looking at getting these. Where you just sold me is that the commander allows you to override the auto high beams and auto wipers on autopilot. I had no idea that was possible and it’s the only reason I never use autopilot at night.
I will do my best. It’s all going to be manual though and not perfectly accurate. The car still doesn’t show me consistently what charging cost would have been at each stop
One thing my wife hated about my last tesla was regen breaking. Idk why but she really didn’t like driving with it. And one of her friends gets motion sickness extremely easily so having these to turn off regen will be very nice when we go to buy the new model 3 performance.
Spending more time with these products def turned into a better review. Those extra comfort and tech features really convinced me. I’m a buyer because of BTG
Will the obd reader be able to tell battery health and degradation on a car as soon as you plug it in? Maybe if you’re looking to buy a used Tesla you can see the battery health?
What I want is for all of the AC to come on when I get in the car.. not just the passenger seat an "arizona" mode. Is that possible, I just push one button and it comes on for the entire car? I am not sure that I would spend money to take away one click on the screen however
For those who have problem getting the buttons to stay stuck under the center console - take a piece of sandpaper and gently scrape a bit of the smooth surface of where the buttons will be placed. It doesn't even have to be large of an area as the button's tape. Create a bit of a texture and it should stay stuck.
I use mine mainly for turn signals, 3's and Y's have a weird random input drop on the stalks, tested on at least 4 vehicles and found it to be a common problem. Other uses I find are "thank you" blinks, mirror folds for when going through narrow spaces, door locking for times when you need to lock fast but not wanna snipe the tiny icon on screen, autopilot nag-off, and passenger door opening
On the new Highland cars with no stalk, if you don't like using the screen to changes gears or just can't get used to it maybe you could set these buttons up to do it and place where a traditional gear stick would have been. Has anyone done that?
Can I completely turn off Regen with this device? I just ordered a ‘24 model 3 but didn’t get to test drive it.. then drove my in-law’s and realized how much I HATED the regen feature, which can’t be turned off! Thats a deal breaker for me
One pedal driving is so nice. You should force yourself to go through it for a few days and then decide if you really can’t stand it. I know it’s different than what you are used to, but it is so much easier to drive
@@BeardedTeslaGuy thanks, I'll definitely try, but I coast a lot on highways which is most of my driving. But in the event that I still don't like, can it be turned off completely at least for highway and snow driving?
Strange you are covering this now. You didn't see the newsletters? They have something new coming. Looks like sleek thin buttons and maybe a new unit of some kind. You'll know Saturday at 10AM PDT (17:00 GMT).
I agree, holding the handle down for 2 seconds or opening the app on my phone and clicking the frunk open seems to take the same amount of time. The only use I could see for them would be during the winter if the back seat passenger wanted to turn on or off their seat heater.
Seems odd that no one has pointed out that Tesla went to a lot of trouble to design an elegant interior that is free of a bunch of buttons. So now we’re supposed to stick on a bunch of third party buttons? I think not.
@stano49 That isn't accurate. Check some more information on what Tesla says about lack of buttons, it's primarily about keeping production costs down. Ask yourself why they have gone out of the way to make mods like this so easy to Install - it's basically supported. S3xy buttons use options directly available from the system, made available by Tesla for us. Why would they make it so convenient and easy to do if they saw no point in it themselves? They don't offer buttons because that is the cheapest possible solution for them in production. Whatever you heard about how smart and ultimately designed it is, that's called marketing. Once driving, most agree that buttons just make sense. They are safer and can provide multiple options for by different clicks. Saving 5-10 seconds EVERY TIME you do something matters. If you are not a power user, these buttons were never for you indeed. But that's separate from what Tesla would do if they had the excess money to pamper us.
I still couldn't find a good reason for this. Open the glove box can be mapped to holding one of the wheel buttons on the steering wheel. Auto pilot hands on can just be adjusting the volume while in auto pilot, same effect. Pre conditioning battery usually useful when you navigate to a supercharger, which it already does for you... Maaaaybe opening the frunk? But i dont even use it that often so using the app from outside the car or the screen from inside works just fine...
@BeardedTeslaGuy // I just need to play around with it more. It's like the Mac mouse and the switch from Windows to Mac OS - or vice versa. I can't even remember. Or like when we went from blackberries (keyboards) to a virtual keyboard. Weird af and then it's completely normal.
I was on the fence about the SEXY buttons. I was not aware of the added features the commander had. Great video. Pushed me over, I'm a buyer.
Same, I declined them a year and a half ago. These things are awesome, more specifically the commander
Thanks BTG! I love my S3XY Buttons!

The strength of the regen braking w one pedal driving was super surprising. I guess that comes w the territory with a battery that large in the MY LR.
Some cool and simple uses for these

Sure can
@@BeardedTeslaGuy Thanks man. Love your vids and really appreciate that you reply to comments. Kudos. 👏
Justin. Where can I get that iPhone mount ?
is that matte PPF?
For it void the warranty ?
I would get this but my rear ac 7” panel is already using that port in rear. Is there a way to piggy back the sexy off another port somewhere up front ?
I think you can stack the adapters
hopefully you’ll be getting the S3XY Knob for review - that looks really good
Great review. As a new Tesla owner, my biggest gripe is the auto wipers. If I have the ability to turn on or off the auto wipers while Autopilot/FSD is enabled, this will make me a happy camper!
does half opening the door handle unlock the frunk even if we don't have the power frunk?
Yes

They are nice and convenient
Is this compatible with 2020 Model Y?

Yea, there are some really good convenience features in this thing without the buttons
Does the Commander app show power usage of things like AC/Heat/headlights in the power consumption on the left side or is that only power consumption of the motors?
Just looked to confirm. You can display more specific data, but it’s still limited to front and rear inverter for power display
how could you precondition your battery. i found it is always precon:N/A all the time. thanks
For the sexy buttons how long does the battery last ?
Not sure
Wait Justin. Does this not work on 2015 Tesla model S?
I’ve been looking at getting these. Where you just sold me is that the commander allows you to override the auto high beams and auto wipers on autopilot. I had no idea that was possible and it’s the only reason I never use autopilot at night.
Will you be documenting the charging costs at the end of your road trip?
I will do my best. It’s all going to be manual though and not perfectly accurate. The car still doesn’t show me consistently what charging cost would have been at each stop
Thanks for posting this. Will look at the details very interested in accessing more battery information
Glad it was helpful!

Yea I was happy when I installed and thought the vid was good, but after like 2,500 miles, I know exactly what I like about them
Wow Sexy buttons with the commander look amazing , Your thoughts on that vs Teslogic
I like these. And it allows me to communicate with Scan My Tesla, which gives even more data
Do i Get drift mode with s3xy buttons on Tesla model 3 LR 2019
Possibly
Are those buttons weather proof?
Good question, I’m not sure
I'm totally fine buttonless, but my wife hates the fact that there is no glovebox button. Great review, thanks for the info!
Thanks for watching!

Yes!
I love the S3XY buttons! My wife likes them so much in my car that she wants them for her Model 3😊
Very cool!

you can enable the air conditioning from the app before you get in the car
2:32 @Tesla #Tesla Add the Pedal function 💪

good tip, thanks for sharing.
Wipe with alcohol.. worked for me
Great video 🎥🔥
Thanks 💯
I’d put these behind the screen near the bottom, keeping the interior minimal
I like your spot too, didn’t think of that
It’s a good option
The only function that appealed to me was the glove box release. I’m sure I could find a use for one other button. Great presentation
Cheers

Now i see a reason to get it, otherwise, i just use voice commands to do things like open the glove box, frunk, truck...
I dont know why but the voice commands are just awkward, I just want to push a button sometimes
It’s worth it just to turn off the auto wipers while on A/P.
Seriously that and auto high beams

I guess I’ll know tomorrow! They are at Tesla takeover so I’ll see it in person whatever it is
This is neat but I don’t need it, my truck came with buttons from the factory. Same for the sunroof shade. 😜
Lol
Usually would buy into any Tesla accessory’s… but this looks unnecessary, just my opinion though. I’m sure someone would perfectly utilize this 👍

I thought the exact same thing and that’s why I declined to get them a year and a half ago. Been really great on this trip
is there any way to repair/fix a broken keycard? or thru this accessory could i turn on the car?

not for everyone

too pricey for what they are and that look, nope
wont be for everyone

Just wanna unlock the fucking doors - at the press of a button. ❤😂 .... that is ALL I need for my entire life to make any sense.😂😂😂
He the key fob then. Problem solved and your life is solved

Why buttons, mate? I hate buttons, that reason why I love Tesla.
Because it taps into some nice features and hide really well
I hate hafting to go through three menus to open the glovebox.
