The pier used to have a local restaurant and it was so good. The pier was destroyed in a hurricane and rebuilt. That is when they built Joe’s Crab Shack. I have eaten there only once and it was overpriced. There are lots of great restaurants in Daytona Beach and Ponce Inlet. The Roof is a rooftop bar.
Funny, we just visited Daytona Beach for the first time a couple weeks ago and walked up to that Boardwalk. Thanks for the review as I will look for other places to eat. We did try 2 places across from the Daytona Speedway. First PF Changs and that is always good. Later on we tried 4 Rivers BBQ Smokehouse and that was very good. They are going to open one in Middleton, The Villages in about a year, so it was great to try it. Very good!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing and glad you had a great time. PF Changs is good and we need to do a review there sometime. We also have to make it back out to The Villages soon!
No Blue Crab..a common crab here? There was a Joe's Crab Shack in Orlando. Prices were high years ago. Glad you didn't have to deal with embarrassing dance routine the waiters and waitresses were forced to do! I hope Lee & Rick's Oyster Bar is still open off Old Winter Garden Road. That's an old fashioned place for seafood/oysters! 👍🏻
It definitely has gone down hill. It’s a great location but wouldn’t go back! Will have to see if the Oyster Bar is open and give it a try. Thanks for sharing!
I totally agree the salmon looked quite undercooked. I guess they feel they could get away with it because of their location on the water in Daytona Beach but wrong! Just keep spreading the word.
The good lady and myself ate at the Joe's on 192 at kissimmee , she ordered the mussels, about half of them were undercooked and unopened, not impressed!! We wouldn't be in a hurry to eat at Joe's anytime soon. I know Alex that you are not the sort of chap to kick up a fuss, but I wouldn't have let them away for serving undercooked salmon!!! Would have demanded it ge removed from the bill(check)
Recently found your channel and have been binge watching episodes. Thus far the German restaurant is by far my favorite, wow that food looked awesome and even though I'm not a huge desert guy that desert there was nuts looking. I have found that Joe's is a gimmicky over priced tourist trap with so so food at best. Much prefer the "mom and pop" restaurants
They closed the joes near me. They should have done something for you. We had a similar experience at Outback years ago. They did nothing and we never went back
Well the waitress even said it was under cooked lol and we also eat lots of salmon and when it’s slimy because it’s not cooked enough, we would prefer not to eat it 😂
Salmon is not supposed to be well done. The slimy texture you noted is more likely from the fish not being fresh rather then being underdone. My favorite salmon is super fresh sashimi grade salmon served raw in a good Japanese restaurant.
The salmon wasn't raw. That's the way it should be cooked. You may not like it that way but its not supposed to be well done and dried out. Tuna is cooked similary when done right.
“Joe’s” abysmal handling of your undercooked salmon is inexcusable for any restaurant that wants a satisfied customer who will return and tell her friends. IF “Joe’s” revenue comes mostly from tourist dollars, the immediate sale is the only thing that matters. And that is a shame, because “Joe “couldn’t ask for four nicer people than you folks and your mom and dad. P.S. had you agreed to send that salmon back, it would’ve gone right into a microwave oven!!
Thanks so much for the compliment! Yeah it was not a good experience that’s for sure. However, we were with family so that’s always good. Joes did a bad job! Thanks for the comment!

This is very interesting! Thanks for sharing. Do you remember what the restaurant was called? Definitely wouldn’t go back to the Joe’s here.

Yeah it seems like they think since they have that location, it doesn’t matter what experience the customer has. Wouldn’t go back!
@@thealtemlife Salmon can be made to order just like a steak, I order mine medium rare.
@tonimadrid6701 good to know! We are not fans of that and would prefer ours more done.
Looks like Norwood would of been a great place to celebrate 🍾 your Mom's birthday 🎂...Happy birthday to your Mom!
Yeah Norwood is a top place! Oh well, we at least got a different review lol. Thanks so much!
Very helpful review!
Thank you!
The customer should be #1, even if they are a tourist!
That’s exactly right!

Yeah we were not impressed and seems like most are saying the same. Oh well, you win some, you lose some!
Thank you for sharing this , God bless
You are welcome!
Thanks guys
You are welcome!
Can't wait for y'all to eat some seafood in Key West. :)
We are excited for our trip!

Thank you! Appreciate all the support! We try and show a variety of things and leave it up to the viewer to decide if it is for them or not!

It seems like some of these places don’t really care what kind of experience you have lol.
👍👍
Thanks!
Seafood restaurant in Florida right on the ocean serving Chinese farm raised tilapia and salmon from Alaska.
Interesting
❤
Thanks!
We feel the same way about that place. Only ever went to the one in Newport Beach, CA (where we are from) and it’s the same. Overrated.
Seems like most of them are pretty bad now. It has so much potential so it stinks it isn’t good!
@@thealtemlife back in the day, it was the place to be. It’s been going downhill last 10 years or so.
That's how salmon is suposed too be cooked just a heads up xx

How far is Missouri from daytona?
It is about 17 hours, depending on where you live!
😋
Haha guessing you had a good experience?

It was gross and slimy, regardless.
Actually, I believe the salmon was perfectly cooked !
Well next time, you can have it 😂 lol
Many of these have closed. No question why.
We believe that. We wouldn’t go back!
I have only been to bubba's gumps shrimp 🍤 company
We have been to the one at universal and it was okay. Seems like the chain places aren’t typically as good with seafood.
You wasted your time going that place. All the Joe’s where I live closed.
Not a good place to eat
Agreed! It wasn’t good but now we know!
