The dessert you had is from a single goat. That goat is the offspring of the last goat that made of the cheesecakes for the restaurant. When the former goat had died they stopped serving the cheesecake for a period. My wife and I frequent this restaurant and found it amazing that they didn't tell guests that the cheesecake is only made from a single goat. If that goat has issues, well it's pulled from the menu. Giving you a little context to what you ate. I am a Florida native and my family is from Lake County to give you an idea of my background. Glad you guys had a great experience at a restaurant that my wife and I consider the best in Mt Dora.

Stavros is our favorite. Baklava is incredible. Also the spinach pie and Greek chicken. Really can't go wrong. Marinara sauce is delicious.

If you like the hush puppies there wait until you have them at Rusty Bellies in Tarpon

Stavros in Fruitland Park is always busy because of its close proximity to the Villages. Even though they just added on, they could sure use more table space. Their Greek salad, with their dressing, is Stinking Good! I'm going with the lemonberry cake for your choice, but I just had their tiramisu, and it was delicious! My husband has the carrot cake, and he thought it was pretty good, too.

steak looked lame...ugly, not properly trimmed, otherwise it wouldn't have drawn up like that....but, the temp was spot on....I used to be in the business...

Great review! I'm thinking the Greek Cannoli. I had a few working (DoD) on the Island of Crete a few years ago. Amazing Greek salads and pizza there!

Tourist trap. There never is parking available. Those exhibit displays have been there for generations. If you go visit, make reservations ahead and make sure your hotel acommodations include transportation to the mall. If you are military, Navy Lodge is always a better choice than Air Force lodging, who never have any rooms available unless you are a flag officer or SES.

We live not too far from Brownwood so we adore it! We like Blue Fin, Cody’s, Scooples, Too Jay’s, McAllister’s, Prima, Harvest, Island Poke Fin (for their Pineapple Dole Whips). For shopping Tommy Bahama (outlet prices) and the Logo store (The Village’s apparel) & Spice & Tea Shop. Lots to see & do!!

I love, love, love Publix. Wish we had one out west. I would definitely shop here rather than Kroger/Fry's. I always shop at Publix when in Florida.

It looks like very good authentic German food. The potato pancakes and applesauce reminded me of making them as a little girl with my dad, who is German. I would go to this place for the food and the atmosphere. It is always nice to hear of good servers too. They can make or break a good meal. Thanks for the great review!😃

Robertos in Pinella Plaza is pretty good and give you so much food that you can make 2 meals out of it. And prices are very reasonable.

You overuse ‘stinking good’, cringe when you rate drinking water and that compulsion to point out bathrooms. Outside of these things, I enjoy your videos and keep up the good work, less the three item I mentioned.

You might want to consider assigning each restaurant to a category in the future. Example: Best restaurants for a special meal. Obviously Globin Market and 1921 would be there. I was sad to hear you say how great the Goblin was but it did not make your list simply because of the cost. Or maybe I misunderstood the criteria you are using. To get into the top 5 was there a maximum cost limit? Everyone wants to eat where the food is awesome, the service is great and the ambiance inviting. But everyone, well, almost everyone, has a budget. Some restaurants are more expensive than others. The real issue is whether or not the extra cost garners extra value. Final comment. It sounded like you liked Fiesta Grande but preferred El Mezcal because Fiesta Grande had multiple locations. Surely you know that the Baker Street location was the first for the family-owned restaurant? And that thier success there encouraged them to open 3 other restaurants in Central Florida? Should FG be penalized for success?
