I had the same mind-blown moment when Elio said, “it looks better already”. I was all, “oh sh*t he’s right- less is way more on that grill”. 😄 Absolutely love what you’re doing with it. The mock-up at the end looks fantastic. I think you nailed the shape.
Love this design so far. Can't wait to see more videos soon my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God Bless.
Who would of thought, the iconic 32 grill could be CUSTOMIZED to a new level ...Karl you knocked out of the park...that grill will probably go down in history as did the Duval wind shield...I can't wait to see it finished
Hey Karl, man I am excited to see this progress! When elio said it looks better already when you removed the insert, I had a Homer Simpson moment “d’oh!” He was so right! That insert made it hard to envision anything else! The thinner center looks great. I love the idea of a bead rolled design in the upper section to help match it to the windshield. I’m sure the owner is going to love this when you are finished with it!
Glad to hear you are coming to Aus. Melbourne is the foodies capital of Aus with the most multicultural and coffee culture of all Aus. Jordan should have settled in Melbourne instead of Perth. Long plane ride but well worth the trip. You will be blown away how similar Melbourne is to Canadia land. Maybe get to see you at the show. Regards Michael
This is a cool design and can’t wait to see it fleshed out in steel. Definitely on board with the bead work on grill. Great work and explanation of how to do wire patterns. Thanks Karl for taking the extra time show us all the techniques!
I was really on the fence about the split grille, but now that I see it materializing, I think it's going to look great. Enjoy Australia, their car culture on another level there! Summernats blew my mind when I went.,
Saw your original template and thought it would look cool the other way up, sort of a crossbow pointing down. Mirroring the windshield. Also liked your wire template. Great videos every time
Same here I was thinking wider at the bottom the same as the window frame and the side sphere in the hood? What ever Karl ends up with will be good. You can depend on that.
Hey Karl that turned out killer! I can’t wait to see you make it out of sheet metal. I like that peak that’s in the grille shell now. Have you considered adding that peak in the hood and bringing that back into the cowl into the peak of the windshield? I think that would be pretty cool. I can’t wait to see what else you have planned for this car.
Good ideas drop into the brain from the strangest places. I understand the need to roll edges onto the hood frame, but I would keep it simple. That is just me. Looks like a good choice so far Karl.
I love your work and never comment….I have to comment on how much I love how you are pushing the nose out and making the front have an aggressive front slant. I mean it’s a my opinion case here obviously but it looks so cool! Dividing the grill gives it a nose….kind of a pig nose with the two big openings. It also makes it aggressive looking and I am so curious which grill you will choose…..excited to see more!
Yes to the bead roll!!! I saw the soap stone outline and thought, "Oh man! I hadn't noticed that profile before. That's going to look sweet." *deep inhale* *channels Shia LaBeouf* "JUST. DO. IIIIT." *FLEX*
Looking forward to lunchtime so I can give this a watch. I need an insert for my 38 dodge pickup grill. Always learn great stuff from Karl, I'm sure this video will ne no different. Thanks for the great work, Karl! Happy Friday!
If you're gonna leave the hard crease line up the center of the top section, then I would like to see the feature carry on through the hood to tie the windscreen into the front.
I like the mock-up when looking at it straight-on. To my eye, maybe too thick, will be interesting to see the depth on it as the sides are filled in. **Maybe a different idea for the bead roll in the top of grill shell: extend the hood with a pleasing shape, about a fat inch(?), and recess the grill shell accordingly, with a flange, to receive the new leading edge of the hood. so that it looks like the hood latches into the shell, which it could.
Too Funny! I do not leave negative comments about anyone's work, because we all just have different tastes. But when you mentioned narrowing up the center section because of some old tractor grills, I almost fell off my chair laughing because thats what I thought. My grand father had a Ford 8N. When you narrowed it up and added the depth to it, wow, it made it look so CLASSY! Great work as always!
This is one of the very few channels on TH-cam where you will see very little, if not any negative comments. To me, that speaks absolute volumes about Karl.
Hey Carl, To help you visually, you might start the grill halves with a surround frame much like the 32 grill is made. It will give you a true, definite frame to inclose the horizontal bars. I think you will get a better prospective if you paint the grill shell a grey or silver color to more match the hood and rest of the car. The divider you have created on the grill shell does a great job of giving the nose of the car a more streamlined look. You might also try putting a greater radius curve to the bottom outside corners of the grill. Sort of opposite from the curves at the top center. On a different note, Thank you for the instructive videos you do. I am trying to do some sheet metal work on several projects I have going. I am finding that working on more than one project at a time helps me to be more creative with each one. Work Safe, Be Well Stay Warm
I know you're not there yet, but how about floating, abbreviated motorcycle fenders? About 1/4 length. but with bead-rolled edges like cut down stockers. Always liked the "East-Coast" look. Like the thought of the bead-rolled grill shell top. Classy.
gonna need to continue the crown onto the hood and let it pinch out and have the curved shape like in the grill....with the bead rolls around it all...just a suggestion but the grill is looking great...can't wait to see it finished.
Jup. Same here. How to put a BMW grille on a ford… I didn‘t like the studebaker windshield either. But hey, it’s not my taste that matters here. I still like to watch Karls enthusiasm and thoughtful creativity.
Back in Detroit, they were standing around the plant HOPING someone, somewhere, maybe in California, maybe in 28 or so years, would invent the laser and make this job easier. Ahh, the future! When you were holding the paper mockup at the beginning, while it was still mostly folded, I was thinking, you know, that shape mimics the windshield frame better than any flat shape....
I really liked the glimpse of the other grill that held up for a second .. the same rake of the windshield with the split might be cool.. ok maybe not the same rake .. a bit extreme
I love the overall design of the grill. My only suggestion would be to make the top "v" section to curve inward slightly leading into the downward (spilt) section. It would create a suggestion of an eagles beak.
Great creativity and workmanship......
I had the same mind-blown moment when Elio said, “it looks better already”. I was all, “oh sh*t he’s right- less is way more on that grill”. 😄 Absolutely love what you’re doing with it. The mock-up at the end looks fantastic. I think you nailed the shape.
It is so cool when other tubers i watch watch the same tubers i watch. lol . If that makes sense .
I was thinking the same thing Jimmy. Her channel is a fantastic resource.
Men. This is a nice start to have THE best front of the roadster.
I stay here to see the next video.
Bruno from France.
Love this design so far. Can't wait to see more videos soon my friend. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld On. Keep Making. God Bless.
A nice grill front...Nice flowing lines. Thanks for sharing!
Great job my friend you really really do good work God bless you have a blessed day you and your family thank you for sharing.
Love those light bulb moments. As you evolve an idea. Fabricate a whole new insert:) Man you have mad skills. Nice work.
The Crafty-B roadster had the coolest grill and hood design I ever saw. Love how well this split you built flows.
Nice work Karl, look foreward to the next one.
Beautiful Design one of a kind cant wait to see it done
That grille shape looks so cooooool!
Who would of thought, the iconic 32 grill could be CUSTOMIZED to a new level ...Karl you knocked out of the park...that grill will probably go down in history as did the Duval wind shield...I can't wait to see it finished
Karl, you are a present day master!!
Not only a great design here, but superb artistic craftsmanship!
Keep up the good work 🎉
JIM❤
How many kids can say they have coloured in a custom hot rod with a sharpie. Love it.
Seeing that 3d buck took it to the next level. I hope that's what you're doing when you mentioned filling in the sides.
You are a craftsman, that's beautiful 😍
thanks for the great episode , very infomative and entertaining.
I hope to see you get back on the Cadillac to someday! Looks cool, what you’re building, it’s going to be special and unique!
I can't believe you are coming to Australia!!! I'll definitely be coming to the show you attended to see you.
Can't wait till she grows up and starts making her own custom vids!
I like it thinner too. It's coming along beautifully.
Can't wait to see it in metal. Nice job.
I think your idea's with the bead roll would put the icing on the cake! Looking great!
It's really looking great!
Looks good and the shape is clean
Bring it on. Hope to see you down under in Oz....!
It looks awesome! Hugo is a lucky man. And a patient one too 😂Profile of that nose is beautiful!
Really amazing to see your organic design process for the split grill.
Looks absolutely wonderful can't wait to see the end result
Hey Karl, man I am excited to see this progress! When elio said it looks better already when you removed the insert, I had a Homer Simpson moment “d’oh!” He was so right! Yeah, it’s so funny. Has something can be such a block mentally L O L.
Yup! Elio’s suggestion, thinking outside the box! Its going to be cool!
That Grill 🙏 Respect. Even the "cage work" alone without the sheet metal looked very cool.
That Grille got better and better as you went,. looks awesome.
Thanks Larry glad you agree!
Hi Karl, your bead rolling idea sounds great and will add a classier look to the grill area. Love your work and your passion.

I dig it, also dig horizonal and vertical bars on the insert
Look's very promising Karl. I like it.
This is a cool design and can’t wait to see it fleshed out in steel. Definitely on board with the bead work on grill. Great work and explanation of how to do wire patterns. Thanks Karl for taking the extra time show us all the techniques!
Well done Karl, you got a great channel and appreciate you sharing your fabrication skills with us!
Really looks good Karl Very KOOL
Definitely liking the new grill, I say make it swoops as you described. Love your work man, wish I had an ounce of the ability you have.
I was really on the fence about the split grille, but now that I see it materializing, I think it's going to look great.
Enjoy Australia, their car culture on another level there! Summernats blew my mind when I went.,
Very cool to have one of one. Looks great.
Totally agree. Design and taste are an individual thing but quality always shines
Take a look at a Ford Popular
Another great video. Very creative on the Grill.
Karl, I’m not much on split grills but this one is outstanding. Great job!
Looking forward to seeing the finished grill. Like the way the windshield and grill correspond and complement each other Karl.
Hey Karl that turned out killer! I can’t wait to see you make it out of sheet metal. I like that peak that’s in the grille shell now. Have you considered adding that peak in the hood and bringing that back into the cowl into the peak of the windshield? I think that would be pretty cool. I just watched a man use a hydraulic sheer and a box brake to handle a piece of poster board. This is hands down the best place to learn 😂
Awesome, see you in Sydney mate.
I thought it you were going for a flat split center like you mocked up with the tape, BUT this whole 3D style split grill is "BadAss"!!!!!!
Absolutely a piece of art! Keep up the great content Karl!
Sideshow Bob aka Elio is a very helpful guy to have around.
Good ideas drop into the brain from the strangest places. I understand the need to roll edges onto the hood frame, but I would keep it simple. That is just me.
Looks like a good choice so far Karl.
I sure wish you could have classes in Sweden. I would be the first to sign up. Great video Karl! I love the way the grill is taking form!
Diggin the "swoopy business" !
I will admit… initially I thought “tractor”. Lol but it really shaped up nice. Great work!
The reverse curl on the top would be cool. That is how I did mine. No bead rolls, keep it simple.
Another great show
I love your work and never comment….I have to comment on how much I love how you are pushing the nose out and making the front have an aggressive front slant. I mean it’s a my opinion case here obviously but it looks so cool!

Nice work man!!
Excited to see how this comes out 👍
Hell yeah Going World Wide!!
I was also thinking off the reverse curve from start when you made the new shape. It would look like the windshield then 😊
CONGRATS ON 250K SUBS!
Looks awesome
Yes to the bead roll!!!
I saw the soap stone outline and thought, "Oh man! I hadn't noticed that profile before. That's going to look sweet."
*deep inhale* *channels Shia LaBeouf* "JUST. DO. IIIIT." *FLEX*
Ha ha ha yeah I think it’s worth the risk
Looking forward to lunchtime so I can give this a watch. I need an insert for my 38 dodge pickup grill. Always learn great stuff from Karl, I'm sure this video will ne no different. Thanks for the great work, Karl! Happy Friday!
Thanks Bryan happy Friday!
Great job as usual😮
A Lincoln Zephyr inspired dash would go well with the theme.
If you're gonna leave the hard crease line up the center of the top section, then I would like to see the feature carry on through the hood to tie the windscreen into the front.
Great inspiration.

Looks great karl
Looks good!
I'm impressed
Hard to improve on a 32 grille but I think you nailed it!
Too Funny! I do not leave negative comments about anyone's work, because we all just have different tastes. Fricken Awesome!
That really looks sharp I thought that was your car I didn't know you were building ìt for someone else. Lucky guy.rick 427

I wasn't feeling the split grill when you first started talking about it. But damn that's looking sharp man.
Thanks
I'd like to see more of the 1960 cad😊
The template looks like a Tesla emblem that had its wings clipped before paint. Looks good.
I know you're not there yet, but how about floating, abbreviated motorcycle fenders? About 1/4 length. but with bead-rolled edges like cut down stockers. Always liked the "East-Coast" look. Like the thought of the bead-rolled grill shell top. Classy.
I have 3 BMW so I like this design ,gives it a Euro look! 1930 3-15 Bmw
coolest dad, ever!
Super dope!
gonna need to continue the crown onto the hood and let it pinch out and have the curved shape like in the grill....with the bead rolls around it all...just a suggestion but the grill is looking great...can't wait to see it finished.
Yeah, I’m kind of torn as to how far to take the peak
I was worrying about it looking a bit to " BMW kidney grill" but you nailed it. Cant wait to see you shape it!
I think the same... BMW look....
I see what you guys are talking about. That could almost be hard to "unsee" now.
Karl has a very good vision, so let's see what he comes up with.
Jup. Same here.
How to put a BMW grille on a ford…
I didn‘t like the studebaker windshield either. But hey, it’s not my taste that matters here. I still like to watch Karls enthusiasm and thoughtful creativity.
Excellent
Beautiful work, if it were my car I'd want the grill tilted back slightly similar to the windshield.....not as tilted but tilted
I think you should create a radius in the bottom of the grill opening as well 🇸🇪!
Back in Detroit, they were standing around the plant HOPING someone, somewhere, maybe in California, maybe in 28 or so years, would invent the laser and make this job easier. Ahh, the future!
