    I have had my World rally blue top spec manual since October last year, love it.
    Great little car with enough room for the missus and me and some gear.
    Here in Australia we get a full size wheel and tyre.
    Takes up some room but the convenience of a proper wheel etc is no
    hassle, plus you have the back seat or fold them down.
    A happy sixtieth birthday present for myself.😉

      I’m only 59 but ordered mine this week. The ts doesn’t come with a full spare but the dealer said don’t be surprised if when they arrive in Oz that the full spare is fitted.

    • @josephsaia5527
      @josephsaia5527 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Does your full size spare fit under the trunk floor where they put the tire repair kit? I was thinking of putting a donut small tire if they have one that fits. In Arkansas USA dealer says it is too early to order a 2024 TS in WR Blue but they have a 2023 Pearl crystal white coming in soon. I like that most folks are buying the GR86.

      @@josephsaia5527
      Hi mate,
      No it doesn't, it sits proud of the boot/trunk floor.
      It is a pain and takes up room, but given this is a
      Sunday car for me and the girl, we are in our sixties,
      it doesn't matter.
      I work around the spare or I can drop the back seats
      if we want to put luggage in for a road trip.
      I like the idea of having the full size factory mag wheel and tyre
      and this car is a "selfish" car, just for the two of us.
      I prefer the look of the BRZ, over the 86.

    Great video AA, I'm trying to decide between this BRZ or the ND MX5....to supplement my Crosstrek. Previously owned a 2014 BRZ so this 2nd gen is a great update.

      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! This time around driving the BRZ even more fun than I remember it being last year. So much so that I filmed a second video with it as a longer driving impression/talking review because I didn’t want to give it back yet lol. 😛 With that said, both options are great as you know. Go test drive them to see which new models speaks to you! 🙂

    Your comment about the weight of the driver and passenger was amusing but would have really hit home if you compared it to the Miata. At one point, I believe the Miata could hold 450 pounds. If the driver weighed 250 and you had a full tank of gas and two grocery bags in the trunk, your passenger would need to weigh less than 100 pounds. All guesses based on what I recall from a few years back.

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  ปีที่แล้ว

      That would have been good! The current Miata unfortunately can only host up to a 404# driver with an empty passenger seat and trunk. 🤷‍♂️😢😉

    I absolutely love my 22 BRZ. I traded in a Guila Veloce just to say how much I like lightweight sports cars.
    Go with BRZ if roads are rough where you drive. 86 if roads well maintained and ND2 club if you have 2nd car.
    Personally by looks BRZ has a little Porsche flavor & 86 a Nissan resemblance so again BRZ is my choice. Had great experience with dealership (a 1st)

  • @mikefields2243
    @mikefields2243 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Had a Miata and now have a new brz. The Miata was just a tad too small for me. The brz has a bit more room and is very close to the miata in driving characteristics. I’m 6 ft 1in btw. Have fun either choice is a great one.

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Top up Miata and BRZ both have decent visibility that you quickly get use to and is totally fine, much better than a 5th or 6th gen Camaro. But it’s definitely not as good as most regular cars as the windows are short in either car. Thankfully you can survive most drive throughs in these cars but it’s close! 🙂

  • @louisc76

    I’d imagine the lower sales figure comes from better inventory of the Toyota version. There’s typically a few of those in stock but currently only one BRZ in my area available. 🤷‍♂️

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You did that on GPS? That’s an awesome time! 🙂 I’m sure about .7-.9 slower than rated is due to being down 10% on power at our density altitude. And another .3-.5 from the un-prepped private road I use and driver experience with this car. Because it’s not my car I literally only do one 0-60 attempt and call it good. In this case I thought 7.18 was close enough to what it realistically does for the average driver in this area, and called it good, lol. Thanks for watching and sharing your PB! 🙂

    Boxer engine often has an oil leak. It costs $2000 to fix it in Japan. Some people paid $4500 for engine trouble. Subaru doesn't sell much in Japan because it takes time and money a lot after all.

    Like the car. Disappointed with the power and lack of spare tire Also it should have analog gauges

      Hello Colt, It's interesting/disappointing that the BRZ in the USA does not come with a spare tyre. In Australia, the Subaru BRZ and BRZ S come with a full size spare tyre (it may be the only sports coupe on the market with a full size spare), whilst the BRZ tS does not come with a spare. Although the full size spare limits the usable volume of the boot, I prefer to have the spare tyre. I am okay with the power/torque considering its price and the digital instrumentation is also okay (2007 Porsche Cayman, Manual, 2.7 litre, 6 cylinder, 180kW/273Nm, claimed 6.1 sec, 0 to 62mph. Price When New AUD$124,390 plus on-roads. Whilst the BRZ S, is 174kW/250Nm. Currently AUD$$45,090 plus on-roads, about AUD$50,000 drive-away). Cheers.
      PS Although the BRZ comes with a spare tyre here, interestingly the Toyota 86 does not come with a spare tyre.

    It’s too bad that the engine produces less than the Outback XT

      The benefit of that is that you can rev it out, which is part of what makes these 7,500 RPM redline low HP cars extremely fun! 🙂

      Comparing the BRZ to an Outback or even a Corvette misses the point. There are a lot of cars out there with more power and a better power to weight ratio. This car is made for it's driving dynamics. It's fun to drive on a winding road with it's low center of gravity, low weight, rear wheel drive and so on.
