    It was so great of you to take a moment out to discuss Ukraine. The thing is, we ALL have those guilty feelings periodically. Please keep doing your thing; we know that you are thoughtful, caring citizens of the world. By creating these videos, you are broadening our minds and perspectives, an important effort in bridging cultures.

      Hey Jenny!
      We have heard so much from people that we are giving them a diversion from their lives and that has been pretty humbling. We are continuing with the videos and remain, like everyone sad and concerned around the situation in Ukraine.
      Thanks as ever for your support.
      Best wishes

      How ironic it is that I've discovered this channel while simultaneously beginning the journey to bring my Ukrainian girlfriend and her son to the US. They escaped Kharkiv in early March on the anniversary of the passing of my cherished wife of 26 years. I have a Russian language degree, traveled to Russia and Ukraine many years ago and hold an active visa. It's a visit I can no longer make for obvious reasons.
      But the thought of a 2nd chance at life in bringing our families together and turning tragedy into a hopeful future is beyond my words.
      Thank you for sharing your experiences and offering ideas and hope to all of us!

    I think that was the best video you guys have ever done!
    Really good, solid advice and you’re not wrong on any of the points.
    Putting health at number 1 is vital I think, without it travel becomes difficult, I was supposed to be leaving on Thursday for a one year overland trip to Asia but health got in the way ( hopefully just delayed my trip hence my name!)
    I agree with you about the editing Neil, I was planning to vlog my trip until I saw how much learning was involved so ive scrapped that idea.
    I’ve never defined myself by my job title because I’ve always been a salesman and no one likes salesmen right ! I retired at 54 2 years ago after Covid killed my job and I’m doing everything I can to never go back to work.
    Good point about travelling with a partner, it can be tough although bizarrely it was the one area where me and my ex-wife never argued and we traveled to 90 odd countries together, but you do need to give each other space I think.
    Regarding whether you should still be creating content whilst the war ravages in Ukraine…absolutely you should, we need to see that the world isn’t full of doom and shitty people , your travels and your videos are a welcome respite from all that.
    Thanks again for a great video, I’m off to the library now… didn’t know they still existed!

      Hey Dave!
      You are so right, we hear so often how health has delayed peoples travels and that just goes to show that we all need to really think about what we are doing and what our key objectives are. Looking forward to hearing that you are out on the road Dave, good luck with that.
      That is interesting that you were able to travel effectively with your ex to 90 countries! Strange how life works out eh.
      We have had a number of comments from people saying that they want us to continue with our content and we take that onboard and appreciate the feedback we have got. Since we recorded that video, we know only too well that what we are enjoying is getting engrossed in watching videos from our favourite TH-camrs as it just reminds us that there is a normal world out there too and we appreciate how important that is. if we are able to provide a diversion or some happiness at the moment then that can only be a good thing. Appreciate you mentioning.
      Best wishes

    I personally feel that it’s important to keep living your life as ‘normally’ as possible, otherwise the people who want to disrupt our freedom and way of life will already be winning. Also your videos are inspiring the early retired travellers of the future and give us something to look forward to when the world seems to be going from bad to worse. I hope you continue (selfishly as I’ve only just discovered your channel) but fully respect your feelings and decisions either way.

      Thank you so much for this very thoughtful comment, we have had so many people comment that they want to continue and as such, we are working on next Saturday's video right now. We want to help and inspire the future early retiree travelers, that is after all why we picked up a camera in the first place.
      We really appreciate this thoughtful comment, thank you.

    Hi Guys,
    You are an inspiration. I love the mix of history, food, finance, culture and humour on your channel.
    I retired in 2017, young, due to ill health. We have always travelled a great deal(67 countries to date), we have found that it’s possible to still travel with certain health issues, you need to be flexible, always have a plan B, be tolerant, and seize the day when health allows. Also, it’s necessary to go home regularly for medical appointments, restock on meds etc.
    Your 7 wonders of travel are excellent.
    Please continue to post videos, watching you is an escape from the doom and gloom of what’s going on atm.
    Thank you and keep up the great work.
    Sinéad

      Hey Sinead!
      67 countries! WOW yes we understand the comment about having a plan b... at the moment it seems that just about any plan we make fails and we go onto plan b or plan c.
      We had such a lovely response to our last video that we are continuing, it was humbling and we are happy so continuing.

    Hi again Neil and Sarah, as you probably know by now I have been semi-retired for the last several years and while travelling have contemplated ideas/concepts like those you discuss here. I came up with the several (6 so far) F"s - Family (including significant other), Friends, Fitness, Food, Fitness and recently added Faith (maybe there are other F's someone else has thought of - I am not claiming to be original!). I am not religious but being around people who are I realize many focus on what is good and wonderful in this world which is "Faith" for me. You mention Ukrainian tragedy and the evilness of Putin and I agree we need to help other people. Your videos emphasize the good in the world and take us to happy places through your humorous and positive lens! This allows us to escape from the negativity out there which is important for our mental health. So keep the videos coming! Rod

    • @2GoRoam
      @2GoRoam  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Rod!
      That is really cool the 6 F's, you should start a TH-cam channel :-) Really interesting what you say about 'Faith' as one of those. Like you, we are not religious but we get what you mean.... in fact if we stretch what you have mentioned and link it to Putin's war, it is incredible how vast swathes of this world have pulled together and that gives us all faith that a better world may sometime rise. Thank you for prompting our thinking on that.
The humour was the area that worried us most, if we were a serious channel we wouldn't have thought twice about continuing on but we make light of so much, but as long as we know that our viewers appreciate what we are doing that is wonderful to hear.
      We are working on next Saturday's video and for that we thank you all.
      Best wishes

    You really hit the nail on the head with this video. We have experienced some of the same things that you have in our first two years of travel. While we haven't been able to go to exotic locales like you two have, we have really enjoyed exploring our own country. Definitely "health" is number 1 priority, and we're looking forward to finishing up Tom's treatments next week. We are busy planning our future travels for the rest of the year and keeping our fingers crossed that we can get away. In the meantime we are able to follow along on your adventures and we hope you feel up to continuing to post videos...believe me it does help us take our minds off world events. Thanks again and cheers :)

    I love your presentations! We are a couple living in Montreal. I retired with a disability in 2015 and my husband retired early, at 62, last year. We are having a wonderful retirement with gardening and cooking and petsitting and travel. We have spent our 1st year investigating areas of Canada we had never seen. What a revelation is all that beauty! We also love entertaining around the barbeque and learning new and healthier ways to eat that fare. All of this to say that retirement is definitely agreeing with us and we growing inside despite all the challenges of Covid and the war in Ukraine, I think you should most definitely keep doing You Tube because right now our cohorts can use a dose of the optimism and creative thinking you deliver. I am most certainly looking forward to your new vlogs so please KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! Mary and Guillermo

    Another great video! I woke up this morning looking forward to your content today and wondered if you feel like you're on vacation or if this is your new "work". Then you answered my question.
    Please don't stop your weekly content. You bring joy, laughter and hope each week. I would miss not seeing your videos once a week.
    I retired early in Oct 2020. The time has flown. My plan was to lead a nomadic life but covid grounded me, close family members had health issues, AND I started fostering a senior cat that I adopted and won't launch the next act until she's gone. She's 20+ with chronic conditions. Until then I live vicariously through you both and research where I want to go first. I'm drawn to South America and Africa. I expect our paths will cross in the next decade of your travels. Until next week...

      Really interested to hear about your cat. We had a geriatric cat ourselves who was 19 when she passed away around 18 months ago. Like you, we would not have started our travels, we were just happy to have her in our lives back then and would never have wanted that to change. So we understand your feelings on that.
      We have had a number of comments from people saying that they want us to continue with our content and we take that onboard and appreciate the feedback we have got. Since we recorded that video, we know only too well that what we are enjoying is getting engrossed in watching videos from our favourite TH-camrs as it just reminds us that there is a normal world out there too and we appreciate how important that is. if we are able to provide a diversion or some happiness at the moment then that can only be a good thing. just discovered your channel this morning and am binging on your videos. You guys are approximately my husband’s and my age, so your content is very interesting and relevant to us (and we love your sense of humor!). You’ve embarked on just what we have discussed being our early retirement days/years.

    Great video! So supportive of your ten year travel plan, and your videos just keep getting better and better. I think it's impossible to eradicate human suffering. Find your causes and support them through vetted organizations, but keep living your lives. Life is finite - don't feel guilty that you are enjoying your lives and finding purpose - it's great that you see the precious gift of each day in your travels and with one another. I get a lot out of your videos, and you all have your own unique style which I really enjoy - your community will keep growing. Very best to you and best video yet.

    Hi Sarah and Neil - you must be psychic as so much of what you talk about in this video is resonating with me. My husband and I retire in 7 weeks and we leave for some slow travel in 95 days and over he past months we have been focusing on all that you talk about. I think at present - the loss of my work identity (I work in healthcare) and what it means to be retiring now (pandemic still an issue, staffing crisis etc) is significant emotional retirement preparation (“I’ve done my bit” acceptance). I think you’ve hit all the important areas and what resonates loudest for each person will be different- but really none can be ignored.
    Keep making these videos if you can - I wonder if it is appropriate to be planning to travel this summer - but then to not do so impacts the whole industry that has already suffered over the past 2 years of this pandemic and I agree with others that to stop means “he wins”. The videos for me are also an escape so that the last thing I look at before shifting gears to settle for the night is “happy” or normal. This helps me rest - and let’s me be more productive the next day. My heart breaks over what is happening in our world and we know yours is too. Keep up the great work.

    • @2GoRoam
      @2GoRoam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Sandra!
      Really good points you raise here. Certainly not to the same level but I left my industry in Resilience in the time of covid when organisations were looking at how they enact resilience plans to cope with workloads during the pandemic but I guess you are finding the same as me, life goes on without us. So although we have our own identity to think about, we certainly don't need to feel guilty for what we leave behind, that is effectively the circle of life eh.
      Tough times for many at the moment and we are hearing loud and clear that people like to get some normality through our information and silliness at this time. So thank you.

    Hi Neil and Sarah. Glad to see you're enjoying the sunnier days the beginning of spring is bringing. My partner and I are in our thirties and UK-based. We're probably at the same point in our journey that younger Neil was in the "How to be a Financial Hero" video - eek! For various reasons, it's unlikely we'll spend our retirement travelling, but we do watch your videos with interest. We'd still very much like to retire wisely and spend the time on causes that are close to our hearts. Your videos help others to improve their livelihoods, which is surely worth continuing even during current global events. In particular, we have appreciated the tips on preparing and managing finances and are looking forward to your future videos on saving and investing.

    Hello friends, this was a terrific video and you highlighted a lot of very good points. Thank you for doing that and for doing it in your usual upbeat manner. You always have very useful advice in one form or another. That’s a tough question Neil, whether you should continue or not, I think you should. You aren’t frivolous you’re sharing your life story - don’t let the bullies get you down. You don’t avoid the tough situations in life and I think you’re a very fair viewer of what’s happening in Europe just as you were when you were in Mexico and dealing with Covid. I don’t know you you don’t know me, but I fully support your decision to continue and as always any thing you do is up to you!

      Thank you so much, this means a lot because we know you have been with us through this journey. Our concern was that maybe we can appear too frivolous and that it wouldn't be appreciated at this time, but we are hearing that people like to get some normality and we are helping, so we will continue. Thanks again.

    Outstanding video and scenery! Very informative content! Thank you for those in depth notes on retirement. Relationships? Who would have thought about that? Relationships are still and always will be an effort on both sides but a life change like retirement will move the ease of some relationships into a category of maybe more effort. I love the points you've made here.

    This is really a nice video and nice angle to tell your story. I like the way you gave us a glimps of Efeses and used that to inform us about retirement. I like it because I missed in the last videos the travel stories. The focus was mainly on practicalities of public transport, housing etc. I do love when I also get an idea of the surroundings or city you are in. It is a travel vlog also and that gives me the idea that I travel a bit with you.

    Philosopher's gold! Thanks very much for this very thoughtful "life" view and isn't that one of the wonders of growing older- perspective! I can call you two "kids" since you revealed your ages- very sensible and mature kids to be sure! We appreciate your very touching pause, to acknowledge the horror being subjected on the people of Ukraine. Since you asked, I think it is important for everyone to support the people of Ukraine however we can- in our hearts, the amazing way the people of neighboring countries like Poland are doing by opening up their arms and homes, and then financially and politically. Life must not stop however. Please carry on and pursue your passion- this is something we all need to do. Be safe! Gordon

    One of the things you said in this video really resonated with me. I think it's all part of the retirement mindset shift. You mentioned that you do have to be out there everyday sightseeing. I have to work on this and I think it's a carryover from the working days. You think, man I'm in (you name the place), I've got to do this and see that. I think that comes from the years of two week vacations and having to get the most out of your time. We started slow traveling last July (we're a homeschooling family) and some days are just spent at home doing school work or taking care of the admin of life (visas, travel plans, insurance renewals etc.). I sometimes think to myself, man you're wasting this early retirement but I've got to change that mindset. I think the other mindset that is hard to change is the shift from saver to spender. Our whole lives have been spent saving for now and now that now is here it's hard to make the shift. Your videos are great and I hope to follow along with you for the next 9 years!

    I don't think you need to stop making videos. Now more than ever we need a little "escapism" and I would miss seeing you guys every week. Today's video provided a lot of food for thought. You hit two areas where I have concerns: Health and Relationships. Richard is 53 and I'm 52. He has chronic neck/shoulder pain and I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. We walk daily and try to keep our weight reasonable and are pretty healthy but as you say, the older you get the more uncertainty creeps in. We also have an adult son who works and has his own home. We see him all the time because we all live in the same town. I worry about keeping that bond and my question for you is: do you feel that regular phone calls and video chats compensate for the physical distance between you and your loved ones? Great video as always. Keep up the good work!

    • @2GoRoam
      @2GoRoam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Mel!
      Yes both of those areas are constantly being discussed by us both. What can we do to maintain health and what more we should be doing to maintain relationships. That side of things really is real and needs to be thought about long and hard and with you having grown up kids close by that is something to work through. For us, there is no substitute for being physically close to family and friends. In fact, while I type this, Sarah's family back home are having a big get together that we would both dearly love to be at, however something we discussed before we started our travels was around compromise and, you know the saying that life is about compromises.... well our discussion was that in this lifestyle we have chosen, really... there are no compromises, allow me to elaborate;
      We had a home we both LOVED.... but, we couldn't live there AND travel
      We both have family and friends that mean the world to us. but, we couldn't have the same relationship with them AND travel
      Being away long term like this does away with opportunities for compromise that the normal world gives you. But then again, the old world would never have afforded us the opportunity to live our lives in a way that we feel as fulfilled, challenged and not entirely comfortable (which is actually a good thing).
      There is no answer, but there is a discussion to be had between you and your partner and family/friends.
      Hope that wasn't too deep.
      Best wishes
      Neil & Sarah

    • @melhenline8438
      @melhenline8438 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@2GoRoam No, not too deep at all! : ) It's something we've discussed at length. We've got a few more years of work ahead before we can explore our travel options. Things may be very different by then. There are no easy answers, but as you say: life is all about compromise and we have made many throughout our lives. I like how you guys always give the unvarnished reality of nomadic life. It was exactly what I was looking for when I started following your videos. Best wishes. : )

      Absolutely and we talk in that video from experience, as we do what you do.... struggle with consistency. Thank you for putting in the effort to make these videos. I really liked the format of this one that blended a topic with the sightseeing. (Don't read that as I haven't enjoyed the others.)
    I hope you will continue making your videos in spite of what's going on in Ukraine. Like you, my heart breaks for them. However, I believe we should not be paralyzed by something like survivor's guilt. So many Ukrainians are choosing to risk their lives to preserve the opportunity to choose a life like the one you are living (whatever their version may be). We are both 70 and retired in early 2020 right before Covid hit the world. We were only married 8 months at the time, yes senior married newlywed’s in Las Vegas by Elvis Presley in the Graceland Wedding Chapel of Love ❤️. We both have homes ( live in mine that I bought on my own after both parents passed, he owned a Historical Restoration Company in Washington DC with 2 other family members. Sold his 1/3 of the company and retired with me. Made travel plans for the next two years and they all were cancelled, rescheduled 2-3 times in the past 2 years , and now we are traveling every other month trying to catch up on these rescheduled trips. We are Living Our Best Life and aren’t anywhere near done like the two of you except we have about 20 years on you. We both have some health issues but don’t allow them to take over our lives, we take over them. In October we will finally be traveling to the very same places you are in these videos Rome/Greek Islands 2 week cruise with 4 days in Rome pre cruise. This is a trip I had planned and executed for my amazing husband’s retirement gift( his dream Historical Archeological Vacation) which was supposed to happen October of 2020. All plans for this land/cruise vacation celebration are now all in place In 9 more days we will be at Sandals Negril Jamaica 🇯🇲 for our 3rd Anniversary and in July back to Sandals Royal Caribbean, Montego Bay Jamaica to Celebrate his 70 th birthday staying in their incredible Over The Water Bungalows. Yes , we have worked 50 years of our lives, raised our children, bought our homes, nursed our sick and dying family members in our homes and found love again 7 incredible years ago. Life is Beautiful, it’s what we make of it We choose to make it an Adventure till we can’t. Love your videos and the two of you are adorable. Keep traveling if it makes you Happy and Blessed ❤️🤩⭐️🤗🎉🎊😊🥰😘☺️🥂🍾🌺🌝☀️💃🌷🌸🏝😀

You have worked hard and built something together and now you are ready to take your life onto a new level and that is fantastic and hugely positive to read.
      You have a chance to be our new heros! :)

    I’ve been retired since 2020 as a result of a massive layoff in my company. Luckily we had been planning an early retirement and with the layoff was able to receive a severance package so in hindsight it was truly a win/win. My husband retired 2 months completely after working part time the last few years which allowed us to travel extensively. We have been traveling Al over Mexico this past year and now full time the last few months. Looking at spending a year in Spain soon as I have family there and we want to walk the Camino De Santiago. One thing we realized with traveling full time is less is more! Only bring enough clothes and stuff to last a week or so. Anything else you can purchase at your destination. I have hobbies like crochet and exercising daily with walking, biking and strength training so between the travel and leisure hobbies we keep ourselves busy! We are distraught over what is happening currently in Ukraine. We have been supporting World Central Kitchen which is providing meals both on Ukraine and in Poland. We are praying that he shall not be named will stop this crazy invasion and leave Ukraine. Keep on making videos and perhaps with what you make with TH-cam donate a portion to help support the Ukraine people? Safe travels!

      That is the dream to get a layoff at the right time and get a payoff, we always hoped we would get that, alas not. But we aren't complaining! We are interested in doing one of the Camino walks one day too, looks a really interesting thing to undertake, you go for it!
      We are doing our own thing in relation to supporting people from Ukraine in our own small way, thank you for mentioning.

      Well that is the thing eh.... this is not a holiday, it is a lifestyle... going to restaurants can be nice for a time but there is nothing like being at home, cooking up a storm in the kitchen and then chilling in front of the TV with no set plan. Nice thing about the lifestyle we (and you) have chosen is, wherever we lay our hat, is our home for that time.

    Another fabulous video guys. As all the comments before me have said, your videos are a much desired escape from the atrocities happening in Ukraine at the moment and one that I look forward to watching.
    In saying that as a long time nomadic traveller I can completely relate to all your points on this video including the time consumed with planning. Several times during long stints on the road there came times when we found ourselves exhausted from the constant "work" associated with travel...planning, maintaining relationships with friends and family etc.
    I found taking a "vacation" from the pressure of slow travel to be a much needed reboot. For us that was a week or two off line in 1 location, be it a town or beach where we stopped all planning and just did whatever or nothing that felt right for the time period.
    I admire the work you put into your videos whilst still maintaining slow travel, but remember health isn't always physical, slow travel is exhausting, add on travelling during a pandemic and creating fun enjoyable content and I would not be surprised if its potentially unexpectedly taking a mental toll.
    So yeah ... in short I love your videos and will support whatever decision you make around continuing. I think the best decision should be a personal one to you both and not from what your followers ask of you. I for one will be here whatever you choose.

      We like the idea of that vacation, it seems strange to think that way doesn't it, but we understand that sentiment and we are going to try and slip that in somewhere in our travels sometime soon.

    As usual some good information to keep in mind. I like the format of keeping it informational while at the same time enjoying the sights. I too hate what is happening in the Ukraine but I think it's important to keep our lives going but not to forget their struggle. I was glad you mentioned that in this video as the situation really pulls on our heart strings seeing what is happening. Please continue with your videos if you are able. Thank you again for a WONDERFUL TH-cam video! I know these take a lot of time and a lot of hard work but they are so greatly appreciated. I literally woke up and said to my husband, "It's Saturday! 2GoRoam will have another video posting!!! YAY!!!"
    I fully understand and completely agree with your thoughts about the Ukraine situation. Unless one is part of the "Me Myself and I" subset, this atrocity affects ALL of us one way or another. It's terrible. It's heartbreaking. It leaves those of us not close to it feeling guilty and helpless. Guilty that we should find any enjoyment in life while others are dealing with this horror show. That said, I don't believe we ought to give Putin the satisfaction of destroying the things we have to be grateful for. I believe, although difficult at times, that we need to find joy every day and be damn glad of it and remain grateful.
    What the two of you offer us is a bit of an escape, a lot of hope, and always a few laughs because you're so down to earth and REAL. I find so much joy in what you're doing. What an incredible comment. Thank you, seriously.... thank you.
      One of our main concerns was that as our channel is light hearted and we like to have fun, we don't want to appear flippant on video when the world is going through so much. But we know all to well ourselves, that we take so much joy in watching our favourite TH-camrs at the moment, it make things feel so much more normal for a short time and that means a lot.
      We have had so many wonderful comments on this video and as such, we are already working on next Saturday's video. And for that we thank you all.

    Hi there. First time viewer of your channel and I wanted to say I'm impressed. I'm sure your subscriber base will grow as the video comes across as informative but also quite relaxed. My wife and I are looking to retire early this year (early 50's) and I'm also from a project management background so feel there are some similarities to your situation. We plan to move to Australia but will hopefully get dual citizenship (wife is dual uk/australian citizen) and spend time in both countries. Do you have a home base at all, such as a small house or rental? If not, did you put some belongings in storage in the UK? I am thinking of using storage but think you never go back to it!

    • @2GoRoam
      @2GoRoam  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Graham!
      Welcome along, thank you for getting in touch.
      We struggled with this one a lot, it can feel quite disconcerting to sell everything and basically have no home base in the UK but when we delved deeper it didn't make sense to us in having a place. We had friends that said "Why not have a small flat that you rent out for income then if you come back to the UK you have a place to stay?" well when we thought about that... if we had a flat that was rented out to a good tenant we aren't the kind of people to come along and throw them on the streets so it didn't make sense for us. We had a storage unit for all of 1 month.... we realised that we wouldn't need all that stuff so we got rid of it. The only stuff we have in the UK is literally trinkets and wedding photos that we keep at Sarah's mum's house. That's it. Hope that is helpful.

    We have just both early retired, 51 and 53 and doing what you guys are. Slow travel as described. It is not an ongoing vacation. Vacations are expensive, this is why people who think about retiring early and going overseas... don't think it's possible because each time they go on vacation they spend piles of money and come back to work to pay it off. Slow travel is affordable if you are willing to accept it is not a vacation. It is everyday life. It is cooking your own meals, reading books, and citing at home.

    That was such a great video, particularly the parts about relationships with family and your partner (for those who travel with one). Thank you for acknowledging the tragedy in Ukraine. What I would like to hear from travelers in Europe about that topic are ways you feel you can help, and also how you feel about traveling in areas impacted by refugees. So many jobs depend on tourism, but tourist dollars and resources can compete with refugee services, so any honest thoughts/observations on that would be of interest. Again, thanks so much for dedicating so much of your time to sharing your experiences!

    Do NOT stop making videos, please. Life does go on, in spite of many things. That Ukraine is going through a very social media-aware war today, does not mean we have to stop living and planning things while being respectful, mindful and if possibly even helping those in dire situations. May I remind that months ago, before this war, there were many atrocities in human trafficking in Africa, ethnic killings in Chechnya, civilian killings by Narco cartels in Mexico and yet ...... we kept on, regardless of how much or little mind-share these horrors had in our attention meter. It is exactly things like these, as inconsequential as you may THINK they are in the grand scheme of things; that allow us a measure of calibration and ability to gain stout hearts. My own family’s businesses in New York City were dying in the aftermath of 9/11. We thank the then Mayor Giuliani for begging people to "Come to New York, eat at our restaurants, come to our Broadway shows". It was not a call to "forget about this tragedy and live normal". It was a call to deparalyze ourselves from the stupor and shock of that tragedy. We all have our parts to play. You have found yours. We can't dream of other things, of better things, of finer things ..... unless persons such as yourselves give your time and efforts to those of us who have not yet been there. It does nothing to a society we want to better, were we all to stay sympathetically comatose and action-paralyzed in solidarity with those in affliction.

      Hey Dardin!
      That is a good question and now that we are both going to start talking about planning, finances and financial independence, you'll get your answer in the coming weeks for sure!

    1. Ephesus is amazing. Lovely place and you’ve done it when the weather is manageable. Doing it when it’s peak Turkey summer is a bad idea 😂
    2. Don’t stop making videos on the basis of Ukraine. Cold but life goes on.
    3. Very good point about how you define yourself when you’re asked, “what do you do”? Soldier for 24 years, know nothing else. Never going to have a job when I leave. 🤷‍♂️ might just say I’m a professional karaoke singer. Maybe I could be an Amazon librarian. 😂

      Hey Ryan!
      Isn't Ephesus incredible and we did comment to each other that it must be quite arduous in the blistering summer heat!
      Your point 2 we think links to your career as a Soldier and we really appreciate you raising that sentiment as someone who has probably been in some horrific situations yourself in the past.
      That would be the perfect job wouldn't it? Amazon librarian... wouldn't be the most busy role :-)
      Thanks again.

    We track what is going on in the world. Our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine. We do appreciate your videos for normalcy, to keep our sanity, and to assert that 'he' is not winning. Be Safe!

      Hey Annette!
      it is horrific to see what is going on in Ukraine. Yes we have heard that the normality that our videos can bring is actually helpful and for that we will continue. Best to you both.
