Lenny is truly the sweetest little guy, I find it so hard to believe that someone would dump him, or get rid of him. Somehow he ended up a stray, and would be dead by now. But - he is now living the life up here in Canada and is settling in very well. He is quite shy and timid, but I know there is a spunky little guy in there just waiting to have fun! Isn't he adorable?
Fellow pro-ject junkies fret not! I will be back to work here again now that Lenny is settled in - I've got lots of stuff to get working on, don't I !?!

Seeing the condition of lenny and where he just came from is upsetting, that's not the first one in his condition. It's really sad to see them that way, because there chained up in a small confined and and neglected. Here were I'm staying along with family we have a large family of four legged felines 16 and three very healthy canines the German Shepard almost 45K but not fat. It is a full time commitment. Good to see that lenny is going to fit in just fine with a good family. Take care and God bless amen.

I’m here in Texas, and it seems to be too many people don’t do the right thing to keep the animal population down by spaying or neutering. Then they get babies and want to get rid of them the wrong way.

Take it from someone who has rescued 6 Basset hounds over a span of 18 years. It never gets easy to say goodbye BUT the joy that they bring is worth it. They love unconditionally and show that love and appreciation in so many different ways. Bravo to you and Steve!

That's the way dogs work. They suck you in with there cute face, waggy tail, soft licks, and then your stuck for more years than you can imagine. We love your channel, we have 5 special needs rescue dogs that keep us quite busy here in the woods of Michigan. My beautiful wife is also a nurse and very self sufficient. I am also a Canadian expat living my best life trying to give back. Keep up the good life we enjoy your adventures.
Some people will never realize how hard it is to lose a pet. There part of the family. It broke my heart when I lost my last GSD had him a little over 9 years. God bless you and Steve. Welcome to the family Lenny!!
Had a beautiful German Shephard mix for 16 yrs. My best friend. Now, 14 yrs. later, my 10 y.o. son has been asking for a puppy. I know I have to allow him the chance to share his love with his own best friend. Tears stream down my face as I write this knowing, as you said, the joy of having that friend but still feeling the incredible pain of the loss. Your honesty is priceless.

Michelle…you’re a good woman! I rarely meet people of your caliber. You love for rescuing canines is outstanding. I’m on my 7th. He is an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull) that has been trained for an ESA. He is non aggressive and very lovable. My senior Lab passed a few months ago and it was hard on both Ko and I. Since the passing of my wife, Ko (pitt bull) is with me 24/7. You’ve done so very well and I love what you do. Steve is a very fortunate man…just as you are.
Lenny is beautiful. This is my baby. Valentine, is 9 yrs old. She came to me as a rescue from southern states. She is brindle with white paws.She looks like Yorki, Terrier mix. I give her chicken every other day and a scramble egg and her bacon for breakfast on the odd day. Great video Miche!!e, always with wonderful emotions and honesty. : )

Bless you, bless you, bless you guys for what you do. I rescued an old dog from the shelter that was a cowering mess. I brought her home and lavished her with all the best and love I could provide. She turned out to be the most incredible dog I could ever imagine. She was totally devoted to me and was always near by me. I like watching your dogs, my heart sings when I see them happy and spoiled.
I lost my Bear girl almost two years ago which was the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through. I lover her so much.
I agree with you, another dog rescue eases the pain. We got a dog that had been in a litter from Oklahoma. ( I live in western Washington) Emma has some big paws to fill but she’s a good dog as well.

My daughter has spent 8 years working in animal shelters and rescue organizations. She and I spent every weekend together when she was growing up at an animal rescue. You and Steve seem to be amazing people! Good bless your good work to save animals. You obviously have a big heart, especially knowing you are an RN. I myself spent my life in a 30 year career in EMS in N.Y. CITY and Phoenix Arizona. I believe caring for animals is good therapy to offset some of the things we encounter and see in the field of EMS/ ER work. Take care of your doggies and enjoy the Love they give back to you!

Hiya to you all, thank you for doing this. I had to give up my Alsatian when I could no longer look after her as she deserved. I'm severely disabled and even walking her was too much. I'll continue living my doggy life through you all.

Me and my wife Sherry do the same thing we had 5 dogs and they have all died we have 3 now we just adopted the third one name is Stanley. Good job to you two. Ole fart in Alabama. Love 💗 it!

I think back now, maybe he was right.
The loss of losing these poor souls always is hard to deal with but the gratification and joy all the dogs I've rescued over the years gives me drive to always step up again and give another misfortunate friend one more chance, good on you and Steve for opening one more chapter, congratulations Michy 😁💖

I just discovered your channel. I first watched you milling lumber a couple of days ago. When I heard your voice I knew immediately that you were from BC. I live south of you in Washington state but half my family live in BC. My dad grew up and was raised on Vancouver Island but I also have a lot of family on the mainland. I enjoyed watching you mill lumber and I subscribed with that video but watching you and Steve with your animals is what really touched my heart. Deb and I have 4 dogs 7 cats 21 horses 3 geese 13 ducks (including one called Tiny Tim who has a bum leg) 2 goats and 22 chickens. Animals are our life, our friends and family. I already know you guys are our kind of people. Wishing you much love in life.

Yeah I love it's great that you and your husband takes these animal it gives that animal a chance at life and helps with the void of that lost animal that you have lost that's absolutely awesome that you guys do that.

I rescued an old English Foxhound from death row, coming up on almost 2 years now. I’m new to the channel, but I noticed right away that only your foxhounds have GPS collars. It’s the same way in my pack. Whenever good old Emmitt is out and about, it will take a literal act of god to stop him from roaming if he catches a scent. I love your pack, mine looks a lot like yours and it’s great seeing another hodgepodge of dog breeds getting along with each other.
What can I say you guys are special it tugs at my heart to see the love you show these animals keep on doing what your doing
This is beyond wonderful. You and Steve are really awesome for taking these guys in. Lenny seems hand shy but hopefully he can overcome with your love and attention. Sweet... I love how you have a pack and how you respect their freedom to be themselves. We had three, one passed last summer. We drive back and forth to Mexico from BC for the winter because the dogs are big. A great Dane and a Dane, Lab cross. Have been for years. I'm surprised by the comments about the border problems. As far as I know all three countries dropped all paperwork requirements a few years ago. They just hand us back the paperwork without even looking at it. ❤

I rescued a Samoyed (Bentley) when he was a year old.. he was so small when I got him he road in my lap all the way home… He is now 13…
His hips are so bad he can hardly walk.. I am now facing a hard decision. 🥺😢
Am going to have to make the decision very soon.. He cry’s now in pain.. I can’t see him suffering much more.. He is the sweetest dog.. He is not the first I have had to make this decision for..
It is so hear breaking..

I feel your pain! I have put down more animals than I can count now, and lots at the very end of their life. My biggest regrets were always that I felt I should have laid them to rest sooner. It sounds like the crying in pain is telling you it’s time. I know it’s hard, but he will let you know when it’s time. I wish you all the best with this tough situation 💕

you guys have a heart of GOLD, adopted dogs / rescues make the best pets ever. our four / three dogs have come from the same family different house holds thru word of mouth. the second dog they took back writhing 24 hours it was a 11 - 12 year old Rottweiler female which ended up passing within a month I think it was heart broken because her brother that it shared a home with had passed about 6 months before. thank you for sharing god bless. #doglife
