Looking good! Your vids are quite helpful. I am working on a 1974 Jayco I purchased. Lots of water damage from neglect! Keep up the good work , waiting on your next installment!
Oh thank you so much for this video. I have a 66 Scotsman. Same damage on the same piece of wood you first showed there. I was wondering what kind of work i had to do. This answered it. Again thank you sooo much
Awesome video! I laughed, I re-winded and double take a few times! I watched the entire series! Keep us posted on the Shasta! And yes - I did comment on every video with the same comment because it was that good and I am OCD - I want to build something on my channel now!
Let's be honest, your really a videographer by profession and a handyman by vocation. AmIRight? ;) You hooked me with the $25 generator repair and now I am a fan for the duration of this camper rebuild at the very least. Oh and I knew exactly what you meant by "a watershed moment" in the other video.
Love these vids....I have a '66 Cardinal that I'm restoring. Like you, I was unsure how to proceed but now I have a game plan. I'm hoping to have mine done for the Hot August Nights trailer show here in Reno :o)
What you've done making these videos is such a great thing! So helpful thank you! My camper *that will need (at least half) rebuild is about 20ft. * How much did it cost in materials for you to do this rebuild? Hearing what a ballpark estimate is could be helpful for me~! Thanks in advance and great work~! :)
Just watch your videos and you have done a great job, look great. I have just started working on my 1971 Shasta and the water damage is all in the same places but my front look good. mine has a shower and a toilet in it.wondering why you didn't put one in yours. If you don't mine me asking about what was the cost to do it.
Are the floor members pressure treated or redwood that you are replacing on the outside edge? Need to be for longer life of the wood when exposed to the elements.
I just bought a rotozip after watching your video and now need to figure out the bit you have? Is there a name or a link you can find for it? Thanks so much for these awesome videos! You are giving us the confidence to try to re-do our 68 Mallard we just got “for a deal.”
Was there an easy trick to know where exactly all the frame work pieces go after you traced the perimeter, or did you go off measurements from the original wall? Just ripped down the first wall today on a good ol 1972 trailer, thanks for all the awesome videos!!
Great video! The plywood floor boards look a bit iffy from where I stand, did you consider replacing them? Oops, no sooner had I placed the above post and you mention your intention to replace ;) .
hi. all your videos i seen i love. i have a toyota coaster bus bb10 1977 i'm working on. colors will be blue paint job indoor be all update, sorry i have no video on youtube, i'm from sydney australia in a little town of lithgow
Hmm shoes lol :-)) With the wood panals being thicker you will have to fiddle with the design a little, you dont want the outside to be any bigger otherwise the outer skin wont join close. Just a bit of messing around :-))
zx8401ztv I'm trying to pay real close attention to the dimensions because I really don't want to mess with the sheet metal. I think it will be ok though because even though the panels are a tad thicker, the original wall had the insulation sandwiched between the panel and the frame which shimmed it out a few mm. I'm going a different route for insulation so it should be the same thickness. Hopefully :)
***** Im sure it will look spot on mate, your a clever man that thinks things through, i doubt there is much that you could not repair :-)) Just dont mix the projects up lol, a wall on wheels with a motor ha ha :-))
I call BS! this guy is a pro (sarcasm).....seriously, ridiculous what some people accomplish with good old ingenuity. I have a 66 Shasta that needs some restoration, but I wouldn't give it a go, not to this extent anyways..
This is awesome. Better than any netflix show time to binge watch :)
This dudes a nut i love it...not a single short cut taken...hats off to you
The cat is a great super visor.
