You have a front locker still? Do you like it? I had one in a Ford truck when I lived in Cali. But I wouldn't want one here in Montana, too much icy road. Ox locker is the way to go if you ask me.

@@VermontPrepper Does anybody use the bed topper? My poles were rusted together. I had to split the outside pole just to get them apart, and reweld the split and of course polish the rusty insides. Just wondering if people are using the top. On Steel soldiers it seems most don't care for it.

What about the wheels, you're using the Hummer beadlocks? I thought about those but tire stores won't work on them generally. It seems like a pain in the ass for a general use truck. I mean a hardcore rock bouncer sure I get it. I'm just thinking about trying to get some big steel wheels.

I get the Chevy thing, but earlier F-Superduty, F450-550 for me, heavier frames, and Dana S135 rear on the 550 and 19.5 tires that are solid, extended or 4 door and STILL LONG frame rails. I have had few ..they work for me. I did drive one of the 1009/1008s in the Army in 1980s, we had both in our HQ G2 unit

Nice truck. It looks like you don't mind spending the money. I've had quite a few CUCV's and one thing you should be careful of is the harmonic balancer. Don't wait for it to fail. The result will be a broken crank. These trucks were not used a lot while in the service and the electrical connections become corroded. Your shift lever looked a little rusty, that corrosion goes on inside the steering column too. It often corrects itself by using it. Hillbilly Wizard was parting out CUCV's (pickups)for the axles especially the Dana 60. I would be willing to bet he is not a CUCV fan, but does have a lot of parts to sell!

WAS looking into one of these... But considering I live in NH and have many steep hilly areas and seeing you have to keep momentum to keep her going while pulling I guess this aint for me lol.
