There are Phil Collins music in gta 4 and 5, doesn't make much sense the licensing thing,if I recall Phil himself said he enjoyed working on VCS,its more likely Take two being lazy
@@ThePontiacFieroboth of you hit the nail in the head, their complacency just shows with their most recent RDR1 didn't even come with 60fps and a PC port of that was supposed to be shit canned with the og game due to it's spaghetti coding that goes off the charts
Its criminal that vcs didn't get any special treatment like the gta trilogy, even though the gameplay was like a combination between vice city and san andreas, lets not forget the soundtrack was awesome
I would say the reasons were the fact it released on a console that not many cared about; gta san andreas was still kicking and even still does at some extent due the depth the game had (easter eggs, mysteries, etc.) and the fsct that LCS and VCS came when the old gen was about to get dropped and HD games were starting to be a thing, so might explain a bit why we didn't had a "gta san andreas stories", R* was totally focused on GTA IV.
So someone said that Phill Collins music appears in other GTAs. First, it doesn’t matter if Phill Collins music is in any other R* IP. They licensed three songs to appear in just one title (VCS) and they need to be renewed in order to still include them. It also happens that In the air tonight is Phil’s most iconic song and the one that standardized the 80’s percission, so R* might’ve thought the game wouldn’t make enough profit to justify the investment. I mean just take a look at how many downloaded mobile LCS and compare it with San Andreas. Also keep in mind that’s not only Phill’s music but also his voice, model, artwork shown in multiple ads, even shown in the box! It’s a shame we didn’t got a proper port. But sadly, it’s understandable.
phil collins would want royalties for his music and in game concert. rockstar wont even renew the licenses for songs in gta san andres and gta vice city
Phil Collins' music is also in GTA 5 both in radio and cutscenes which got re released nearly as much as skyrim now. Take Two probably has enough money to pay Collins
It's a shame that this won't happen, after seeing that LCS was ported on mobile I really hoped that next year VCS will be ported too but unfortunately this never happened, and it's a shame like I said because it's one of the best GTA games but unfortunately it's underrated
Rockstar never released a PS3 port because they trusted Sony would keep backwards compatibility, but when the Slim and Super Slim models released Sony god rid of it and not until 2012 or something they reintroduced the Stories via the PS Store
Lol. Yeah it's Sony's fault Rockstar are lazy. 🙄 Anyway, your unverified statement makes no sense. The PS3 was backwards compatible, and PS2 copies of VCS were still being sold in 2016 at deep discounts. Why release a PS3 port for a game that was mildly successful and was barely selling on PSP and PS2, when PS3 was backwards compatible? And Sony still put them on the PS Store for PS4 and PS5 owners anyway. 🙄 Also Sonys exclusivity contact with Rockstar expired in like 2005, they have no control over Rockstar. Ergo, it's completely Rockstars fault these games had poor post release support (like every other Rockstar game), and have never been remastered. They couldn't even be bothered remastering the PS2 classics III, VC, and SA properly, leaving all the work to a studio with less than 20 employees. 🙄 You Rockstar stans will try to warp the narrative so that it's never Rockstars fault. It's pathetic.
I absolutely loved GTA VCS. It's my second most played GTA but it's downright unplayable on PS2 which is a shame. The game doesn't get over 25 fps and dips into the 10's regularly.
i still never finished it;( despite i have bought a ps2 copy that is sadly a german version and the game won't change language so its unplayable. then I downloaded the pc version port made by a fan and its 100 times better than the ps2 one, except the shooting is completely broken - making also this version I own unplayable. the last option last is buying a psp and so I could finish both GTA Stories, because yeah, even the LCS is unplayable for the ps2 due to lagging and game running at 10-15 fps
Rockstar has the skills to pull it off I just think since "Grove Street Games" Screwed them they are kinda demotivated to make more remasters not saying in the future they won't but I don't think it's on their agenda rn.
Someone released a retexture pack for the psp version I installed it And then, since I'm playing the game in ppsspp i can apply some things that, along with the retexture pack, can make the game look like a remastered version
I had played it on PSP but forgotten how good this game actually is, i recently downloaded an illegal PC port from a guy who made a version working on PC out of combining Android and PSP files or something, and i really enjoy playing it currently. I still have the PSP disk and shame they didn't got it on PC or remaster it. To tell the truth this game has the best graphics on pre-IV GTAs, everything reminds me a more polished San Andreas.
I always felt that Reni might be another reason why this won't happen. R* has been going more politically correct ever since the mid-2010s, so a character like Reni might not be something they're willing to have in a game nowadays.
@@gabrielmartines3510 well, that character only appears in person in one mission, Reni is a much more prominent presence, and even goes through another sex change between missions.
@@pinkstingerYeah, they also didn't even take out the Trāńš Peds from 8th gen console and PC versions of GTA 5, so I doubt they'd take her out specially with her being such an important character, almost all of the reasons for this game not being remastered are monetary, like how they stopped selling the OG versions of the games so they don't have to pay for RenderWare licenses anymore.
It got remastered and released on mobile, unlike this game. But I do plan on talking about LCS separately in another video because I believe it's a really underrated game in the franchise.
