Using this cheat code you can drive any car on the water surface until you reach the boat yard in Vice docks on the other island. I think Vice City is the only game where you don't get a wanted level while exploring locked islands in the beginning of the game.

(It will unlock once CJ goes on a eating date and fail it because he can’t complete it while at a wanted level). Really recommend this challenge if you like Gta San Andreas and want to try something new. 😉
I love that there was always lore to the locked areas. It's a bit of an oversight for The Lost and Damned, because Roman and the news says the whole city is on lockdown, and people on the radio complain about how it's affecting their daily routines. So Johnny should have restrictions too. Luis is fine due to his story starting after the bank job. The thing about San Andreas is that I don't think it's just Tenpenny watching CJ, but the military seems to be enforcing the state's safety measures, as the Hydras will shoot you down if you're in aircraft. That's way more pull than CRASH has, despite their activities going so deep that Toreno is investigating. It's reminiscent of the RDR2 sniper. The sniper is basically the six-star wanted level combined with Scarface TWIY's 'You're Fucked' feature when tactical teams are called and the only way out alive is to save and reload. Can't imagine how they'd treat the player if Area 69 returns. Something I'd like to mention that I have so often is how underfunded and technologically behind GTA 3's Liberty City is. An oversight is that they didn't have air units until around 2000 (courtesy of old-school pamphlets that came with the disc), but there were helicopters in 1998. The point is that this different canon stuff is only because Liberty City is completely different. The old map needs to be its own city. The landmarks are original except for a few obvious ones that draw inspiration from New York. I loved the map, it could be so amazing if they gave it another name and gave it a makeover while keeping the iconic landmarks.
In GTA 4 the bridges are closed due to terrorists threats, it's hinted at the very start of the game by Roman there has been a terrorist attack some time before
In GTA SA, you could remove the wanted level using pay n spray, use police bribes or cheat, other method such as changing clothes, cut hair,... may not work because shops are not open
GTA SA felt much bigger than V even though the whole map can just about snugly fit in V's Los Santos for the most part. They did such a good job with detail and variety. GTA V had a larger city, but 2/3 of the map was boring mountains and deserts, there really wasn't much going on at all. In fact I'd argue Los Santos itself didn't have much going on either despite its scale. San Andreas had numerous counties and biomes, each with a lot of stuff. All 3 cities felt vastly different, including when you were driving on the outskirts. Large canyon-y desert. Mountains, various different woodlands, tons of smaller towns, etc. Draw distance also helped sell the scale as well, but you can actually increase it pretty far without breaking immersion. On PC I think I increased it about 5x vanilla. You can see much further, but it's not enough to ruin the sense of scale. I'd love a large map, but I want the map to actually be worthwhile or make sense. That's why I loved The Crew 1 so much, especially pre-WR before they butchered it with a "graphics update" that broke so much existing content. The US was small, but it still had so much variety, every state felt so different. Then The Crew 2 comes out, it's still the US, but all of the variety is gone, and they use the same exact road textures, grass textures, and tree models everywhere, so the map's size and purpose is completely gone and made redundant. I'm looking forward to Stars and Stripes. It's an SA mod to add the entire continental US. It looks great so far. There's been map expansions for GTA games before, but all it usually is is just making a bridge to connect some neighboring cities. Which was stupid because Los Santos, Liberty City, and Vice City, are all on opposite sides of the country, and yet mods add them in like they're next-door neighbors. Stars and Stripes adds LC and VC, but also adds a lot of in-between; you're getting an entire country to play with.
The instant 6 star wanted level in GTA 4 isn't brutal. Roman aswell as Weazel News explain at the very beginning that an uprising in terror attacks across Liberty City forced the LCPD to lock down all bridges with pretty much every crossing being unauthorized.
I remember in GTA3 I flipped my car in front of the subway station in Portland, and accidentally clipped through the wall, then managed to do it semi-consistently when I wanted to explore :)
I’m gta v they could come out with something, like earthquake make some trees or rocks blocking some of the roads and tunnels, making police put barricades for the Forrest area where paleto is and the area around it, in the desert maybe the lockdown the area due to a jailbreak and the police block the access to the area while looking for them, I don’t know something, having the map completely open from the begin is kinda meh
I’m pretty sure with GTA V no long having locked parts of the maps and being able to freely to explore the whole map, Rockstar is gonna do this with GTA VI where you can explore all of Vice City without having to use tricks or mods to go to those places
Did you know that in Vice city on the PS2 there's a bug where if you use the cars fly cheat and fly to the next island before the bridges are open and you fly a Helicopter, it will take off instantly hitting the sky limit and crashing your console. The same glitch/bug can be found in Vice City on the Definitive Addition, try it.
Actually just caused by the car flight cheat. It screws up the physics. Try flying high in the air and enable the cars fly (make sure its off before tou first get in the copter. You will know if the blades actually rotate or not
the stuff you say about gta iv's bridges being closed because niko is an immigrant is factually incorrect and a weird thing to make up. Ingame its explained by a bomb/terrorist threat.
it aint weird its just incorrect, why do you think that in tbogt and tlad luis and johnny can cross the bridges? it does make more sense for luis and johnny to be able to cross the bridges than niko
San Andreas I assume Tenpenny can allocate that much resources cause of Gang Injunction or whatever. IRL at that time crips and bloods were spreading to other cities very quickly so ofc they had task force on after them
another reason as to why it's taking so long to fix/repair the bridge. just lots of legal bullshit on who owns what. an example is the bridge leaving northwest of my neighborhood is closed off, they tore it down to rebuild it. currently we get to wait on trains, that is passing through a giant 20-30 rail deep in some spots, rail yard. because they were like "yeah, you can rebuild the bridge, that's totally fine" and then they tore the bridge down, and the rail company that owns this area of tracks was like "you need us to make sure trains don't cross this point for X amount of time? no. hell fucking no. go fuck yourself" so a bridge that could have been tore down in spring, and one half at least. fully rebuilt by winter the same year. has now taken 2 1/2 years to tear it down... and do basically nothing else because the rail company said "fuck you". and it won't even be done till may-april of 2026 😒😒
Theres a way to unlock all locations in. Sa ps2, all you need to fo is the jetpack cheat during the begging if the cutscene when the police car is driving after the taxi scene. Keep in mind that crossing other lands will still trigger wanted level but everything else is unlocked also works in the remaster version as well
I remember I thought when I got to the other island on gta San Andreas I thought I would get away until I saw 4 stars wanted stars instantly and being hunted down 😂🤣
As a kid I would always use cheats in GTA San Andreas so the cops would leave me alone so I could go to the casino before I unlocked that part of the map. 😂
For me, it's a bit different. I like to play the game as the developer's intended us to play it at a chronological order. So for example, I would finish the introduction part of the game and then do every side activity that is possible within the available areas in the game before proceeding to the main story. Sort of a master save like what you mentioned in the video except I wouldn't complete any activities or collect any packages in the locked areas until said mission is completed which rewards the player to access an area which previously was not available. In Vice City, there are four areas that are locked in the beginning of the game. The four locked areas are: the gate at Spand express during the mission 'Riot', the Leaf Links golf course during the mission 'Four Iron', Startfish island during the mission 'Guardian Angel', and finally unlocking mainland Vice City during the mission 'Phnom Penh 86'. I know that El Banco Corrupto Grande is the final area of the game that gets unlocked after 'The Job' but there aren't any collectables in the game so I don't really count it as an unlockable part of the game. It's just an area where you can explore.
it was oversight by rockstar, they really were overconfident that unable to swim and not having legit access to flying vehicles was holding us back, cheat codes back then broke savefiles
This is a nice video but you should probably change the title. I was expecting to actually explore these locations before you were suppose to, instead you mostly just explained why they are blocked

In GTA 4 the bridges are closed due to terrorists threats, it's hinted at the very start of the game by Roman there has been a terrorist attack some time before
In gta IV, the bridges and tunnels are locked because of supposed terrorist threats. If I remember correctly, you get an automatic 3 star wanted level
you actually get an automatic 6 star wanted level
In GTA SA, you could remove the wanted level using pay n spray, use police bribes or cheat, other method such as changing clothes, cut hair,... may not work because shops are not open
2:23 uhh whats going on there lol

There’s something more fun about crossing the bridges before the islands are unlocked. GTA 5 robbed us of that fun.
That background music in this video is epic; Sounds like some intro music to an album by Future or maybe even Nas
GTA San Andreas has few missions which disables wanted level and you can go to other cities without getting 4 stars.
Wrong try again
i used to reach the other islands in vice city by jumping from a bridge to the top of a passing boat
GTA 4's spinoffs let you start the game with no island restrictions
Dumb cause TLAD story starts before terrorist threat was lifted in GTA 4 story.
My reason to get to the other islands was to get the sports cars in LCS
You will know if the blades actually rotate or not
@Austin-bc1yh ha never knew that, thanks for the correction :)
the stuff you say about gta iv's bridges being closed because niko is an immigrant is factually incorrect and a weird thing to make up.
IRL at that time crips and bloods were spreading to other cities very quickly so ofc they had task force on after them
I remember when I first used a flying card cheat code to get to the locked part of Vice city because I was having trouble progressing
RC heli "demolition man" mission was the struggle, right?
another reason as to why it's taking so long to fix/repair the bridge. just lots of legal bullshit on who owns what. an example is the bridge leaving northwest of my neighborhood is closed off, they tore it down to rebuild it. currently we get to wait on trains, that is passing through a giant 20-30 rail deep in some spots, rail yard. because they were like "yeah, you can rebuild the bridge, that's totally fine" and then they tore the bridge down, and the rail company that owns this area of tracks was like "you need us to make sure trains don't cross this point for X amount of time? no. hell fucking no. go fuck yourself" so a bridge that could have been tore down in spring, and one half at least. fully rebuilt by winter the same year. has now taken 2 1/2 years to tear it down... and do basically nothing else because the rail company said "fuck you". and it won't even be done till may-april of 2026 😒😒
6:09 you could use the never wanted cheat code. So that way the cops won't try to kill you and you won't get a wanted level
I actually hope gta 6 does restrict us like old times lol
Maybe, just maybe we see some more locked islands in GTA 6, but in some update they get unlocked, or by progressing.
Man how do you get vice city looking that good do you use any mods or something?
The footage looks like vanilla PC version
He's playing the regular game on PC.

Cool video
In gta sa you can explore the map freely during the mission Reuniting the Families after shooting down the helicopter.
Theres a way to unlock all locations in. Sa ps2, all you need to fo is the jetpack cheat during the begging if the cutscene when the police car is driving after the taxi scene. Keep in mind that crossing other lands will still trigger wanted level but everything else is unlocked also works in the remaster version as well
So, I attempted it on pc and it didn't work so don't try it, I still had fun in san andreas before it crashed.
@@xeneomorphthen you did it wrong

The prisons restricted in gta 5 as well bruh
I remember I thought when I got to the other island on gta San Andreas I thought I would get away until I saw 4 stars wanted stars instantly and being hunted down 😂🤣
As a kid I would always use cheats in GTA San Andreas so the cops would leave me alone so I could go to the casino before I unlocked that part of the map. 😂
Wait where was it confirmed that GTA 6's using it?
rockstar must of read the harry potter books before the movies' come out
Even Minecraft has two such areas :D
I always liked going to the locked islands, if I survive
It's just an area where you can explore.
i used to play like that but then i realised how boring it is to do everything at once, so i tend to spread it out throughout the playthrough
9:24 very rare opinion lol
wtf, why cant you just show the places?
I thought in VC and 3 you also get wanted when crossing those closed bridges
it was oversight by rockstar, they really were overconfident that unable to swim and not having legit access to flying vehicles was holding us back, cheat codes back then broke savefiles
Punched in the face, my car was stolen
This is a nice video but you should probably change the title. I was expecting to actually explore these locations before you were suppose to, instead you mostly just explained why they are blocked
Isnt there supposed to be a cheat that would unlock all areas in gta san andreas
Bud that’s clearly not a m60🤣✌🏼
