motorcycles were added because they got banned in 2001 liberty city and helicopters were added because at the time gta 3 was made 9/11 happened a month after and they didn’t want to add any since it’s a replica of new york
IMO yes, though I would've liked for LCS to have more content. -We could've seen Joey, Luigi, and Franco Forelli. -We could've also seen more of Paulie Sindacco and especially Massimo Torini. -Half of the cutscenes should've been mocapped.
Also add some more dialogue during road trips and such. I always enjoy banter and conversations during missions on the way to the ddestinations and such as it always adds to character and makes everything feel more lively
The only issue LCS had, was with the storyline. Unlike other GTA games, LCS never had a well-designed antagonist. The only good antagonist the game offered is Vincenzo, everyone else like Massimo or Sindacco aren't even memorable. And yeah, you are right, Vincenzo SHOULD have been the final boss/antagonist.
Liberty City Stories was made to be a PSP game, and if you look at it that way and how it blew the roof off what a portable game was meant to be in 2005-it's actually just as groundbreaking as GTA 3.
i remember the day GTA San Andreas came to my local PlayGround (a person who owned a couple of consoles in his garage) I walked in and the owner told me, Hey Booza I got new games tell me is something of value here. And then I saw it but the owner wrote GTA 5 on it cause GTA 3 was 3 to him, VC was 4 I guess and 5 was San Andreas xD. I've spent that sunny summer day in a garage playing SA and that kid I knew back then was happy as fck.
This was a great game on the PSP at the time. I remember kids at my school being mind blown at the fact it was so similar to Liberty City in terms of the setting itself. They did a really good job in every way. I just can't think of anything negative to say besides the UMD being much slower than when I had it on my SD card. Sweet upload and you're going places with this small channel!
It's a nostalgic and underrated game. But honestly it was a huge downgrade considering his antecessor, GTA SA. GTA VCS had a lot more options, even its missions were better made (most LCS missions are the same and have worse cinematics). I think that it would have been great a gang war option between mafias and being able to buy properties, as well as being able to enter interiors such as King Knutz, Mr Benz or Punk Noodles (places that don't even have an interior). And of course I didn't understand why we couldn't go by helicopter or swim
REALLY agree on the interiors part. It feels odd to me on how a game that came out after VC doesn't have a bunch of freely accessible interiors besides like your hideouts and Sal's place.
I still remember beating liberty city stories. Amazing game that really showed what the psp was capable of but it has 1 glaring flaw: the mission payout is atrocious. Missions pay next to nothing (which you could argue is fitting considering how poorly the leones treated Tony) and the cost to attempt missions was too expensive (you needed thousands in weapons to pass the missions). Any failure would basically bankrupt you.
This game uses an “unknown” game engine, internally called R*L3D. It’s basically a tweaked RenderWare. Quite a few things can be backported to VC as it’s practically the same engine. That’s why we can play this game on PC by using reVC. But in reality, it just runs on a modified enough RW engine.
Remember playing on the PS2 whilst my little brother was playing on PSP. I remember we used to be amazed that the PSP version and the PS2 version where identical. We used to compare things. Although I totally forgot about this game, it put a massive smile on my face seeing this video.
@@AlfieTrevor4444 it's pretty cool to know our childhood games were being made in our vicinity. I knew there was one in Scotland but didn't think Leeds was THE CITY for it

GTA Liberty City Stories is Good The Main Theme Song is Iconic,The Costumes are Awesome, it has some of the Craziest Moments and Missions, The Soundtrack is Great,The Multiplayer is Fun and Yeah it's Great Addition in the GTA Franchise but i agree when it comes to the Main Antagonists they are Wasted Potential either Vincenzo should have been The Main Antagonist or Flesh out Massimo Torini into a More Of a Evil Antagonist for Toni Cipriani.
This was the first GTA I managed to beat so it's the most nostalgic for me. The only things I like more about GTA 3 are the soundtrack, and darker atmosphere. I agree rhat Vincenzo should've been the main antagonist. VCS is my favorite though.
I know nowadays you can Play GTA V on the Steam Deck like its nothing, but as someone who played GTA Advance as a kid, being exposed to a full fledged 3D GTA home console experience on the go, was mind blowing, I played GTA III a lot but I played LCS way more, simply because it was on the PSP, and I can play it wherever I wanted instead of being stuck on front of the family's old PC, it really felt like the future of gaming.
I think it did very well as the first 'proper' 3D handheld GTA game. It takes from Renderware engine used in Vice City, which is amazing considering VC was only released 3 yrs before this one. It is Top 5 PSP games of all time for a reason. At times this made me think, if it was possible for 3 or VC itself to be ported to the PSP?
Imagine playing GTA 3 in 2001, and someone telling you that within 4 years, you'd be playing a similar game on a handheld PlayStation? It would have blown my mind. I think LCS was the most played PSP game that I owned. I had VCS as well, but for some reason (I didn't enjoy VC as much most people did) it didn't vibe with me in the same way as LCS did. I wish we could have received a San Andreas Stories on the PS Vita, that would have been a system seller for sure.
*It's an improvement to the " original III " , technically speaking it've released after San Andreas, while in comparison to SA it's not so extensive, but in comparison to III or even VC it's features an improved gameplay /more variety..., probably better soundtrack/* *Fun fact: Toni Cipriani, the ID has been based of that of Tony Soprano which on the other hand was based of real life Vincent Palermo known as “Vinny Ocean” , Cipriani's appearance seems to be based of Thomas Pitera known as “Tommy Karate” .*
The game was decent. The storyline was badly underwritten though, especially the antagonists. Torini was undeniably the weakest Boss Fight of the entire franchise.

I remember when I was a kid on the last day of a school term we were all allowed to bring in our game consoles, most people had Nintendo ds and would spend the day playing Mario kart but about 10 of us had psp and would spend the day playing death matches on liberty city stories; absolutely brilliant I played this game to death on psp 👍🏻
ive played every gta game in my life a few times over and loved them all. but this one to me has the most replay ability of the old 3d era gta games.i still have to beat gta vice city stories tho.
It may not be perfect. But it fulfills its role of being an amazing GTA game on the PSP and I give it bonus points for being the very first GTA game I ever played.
I thought LCS bikes (aside of exclusive new bikes) are just copy paste from Vice City bikes models as LCS used VC engine. Turned out LCS has its own bikes models...yeah would be weird to see Vice City bikes in Liberty City, especially PCJ600.
even though it isn't the best GTA and very could possible be one of the bad of the 3D era, I think LCS is very fun and Rockstar Leeds did a pretty good job with no much experience nor time, it's really fun and I think that's what matters more, there could be improvementes done but this is the game with most sales from the PSP, that pretty much tells the quality of the game
so ironic to find this video since i just beat the game today for the first time on pcsx2. I think this became my fav 3D gta game, i had lot of fun with it compared to gta 3 which always gave me a bad vibe along with the terrible controls it had, LCS is basically GTA SA with GTA 3 map
San Andreas and Liberty City Stories were my whole childhood, my only complaint was that the antagonist was lame af Massimo Torini was bland compared to Tenpenny and Smoke but over all LCS is just as good as San Andreas and Vice City
I rank LCS ever so-slightly above VCS (both are goated). Both obviously have flaws but VCS downsides are super obnoxious downsides, plus one game has a DnB radio station and the other doesn't

i like how prequel of gta 3 has motorcycle and can drive helicopter
Cause it cameout years after GTA 3
You can’t drive a helicopter

I think the antagonist was the shenanigans of mafia/politics rampant corruption and greed through the eyes of Tony.
Forget about Vincenzo, Toni's mother shouldve been the antagonist
Yes his ma had better goons and foot soldiers than Vinny
