Poor choice of words on my part, I ment to say "bouncing" not "jumping" because when you land on a npc in the game you continually bounce on their head
This channel is super underrated.
Also, for the Dune Bud Sand Castle Secret, there's a glitch you can use that I think might reduce the number of jumps you have to use to get to the top. I've seen a speedrunner do it before. If you ground-pound on a specific block of sand at a certain point while it's shrinking under your feet, then it shoots you upwards rapidly and sends you near the top of the castle automatically, so you would only have to jump once, I think!

I have an idea to negate some of the jumps in this run. In Gamechamp3000's mario odyssey no jump challenge it is confirmed that in the mario universe wall jumps do not count as jumps according to Toadette's jump count. If you are willing to change some rules in the run.
Good suggestion but her jump count is specific only to Mario odyssey. I see it as a jump because there is no counter in Mario sunshine. Plus at this point I've already done the run and its late to change it. Appreciate the idea tho!

One critical comment I have is that sometimes, it sounds like you start narrating without enough air, or you are breathing in while starting the sentence. really him running out of air while talking just shows his human side, so it makes the video abit more enjoyable knowing we are watching a HUMAN play the game, and not a robot =)
the best thing about inventing a challenge is that you can change the rules whenever the heck you want, as long as it's nothing too major, other wise it's frowned upon and the video is spammed with comments accusing of click bait and such, but this guy used his rule changing just right to give more of the video for us to enjoy instead of just ending it right there on the 4th secret level

Well.. ik this is late, but what about the spray shotgun as I call it. It's where you hold down R and press A. I'm assuming it'll count it as a jump but I don't remember the animation.
Good point I did forget to mention that in the video for the move set. For the sake of the run I was considering it a jump

The rules say "complete the first 7 shines of each area" even though you skip shine #1 of bianco, so I don't think it's a hard rule.
Therefore, you can probably skip some Gelato Beach jumps with Gelato Skip.
This was practically a somersault only challenge

You may be able to do gelato beach skip and conpleatly avoid having to do the Gelato 1 secret level all togeather
I did actually try that but it was impossible to get the fruit up on the hut because I couldn't jump with the fruit or throw it high enough

@@InfiniteBits cool, I tested it an you can get up on the roof with the qaraquack, but idk if a jumpless gelato beach skip is possible. I know for a fact it can be done with one jump because that is the strat speedrunners use. I have seen it done jumpless in an old TAS before but idk if it would work with the qaraquack or not

the only thing i could argue with is that Dive-Somersault explanation...i think of it like a Kip-Up (yknow, that super-flashy "get up from laying on your back" move)-- sure, your Hands are touching the ground, but Most of your upward momentum is coming from the KICK...the difference (that Still makes me call it "not a jump") is that a Jump means PUSHING downward off of a surface with your legs, which Newton-Third-Laws your body upward...whereas Mario's Somersault/a Kip-Up is more like your legs PULLING your body behind them, which Newton-Second-Laws your body upward...
...or another way to think of it is how Thor "flies" by simply throwing his hammer while simultaneously holding onto his hammer...its still not a Jump though...
