  • After months of, “will he or won’t he?”, Joe Biden is officially out. He will not be running for the Democratic nomination for President, despite many rumors he was gearing up. John Iadarola (Think Tank), Jayar Jackson, and Elliot Hill (The Lip TV) hosts of the The Young Turks, break it down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.
    "But ultimately, Biden came to the same conclusion that many in the Democratic Party had reached as his period of vacillation extended from weeks to months, and then several agonizing days more. “Unfortunately, I believe we're out of time, the time necessary to mount a winning campaign for the nomination,” the vice president said. “But while I will not be a candidate, I will not be silent.””*

    When everyone was debating who won the Democratic debate, I said I wasn't sure who won, but Joe Biden lost. There is no question in my mind he was hoping for an opening, but that required either Sanders or Clinton to have a bad showing in the debate, and neither did.

  • @Helthurian
    @Helthurian 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Pretty sure the DNC realized he's a more likable establishment candidate, especially when compared to Hillary. They were probably scared he would split too much support with Hillary, and allow it to be a close three candidate race. Since Hillary entered early, and has the first lady president marketing ploy, they probably figured it would cause more harm than good to have him in the race. I doubt it was due to grieving... if that were the case he wouldn't have timed it after the debates and after discussing it with people like Elizabeth Warren. It was purely strategic.

  • @Dustpuuppy

    Are we as a nation really going to just had over the presidency to Hillary Clinton and simply walk right into the white House unopposed. This whole process feels so wrong. I feel as though we as a nation our standing on our last leg when it comes to our government. I'm losing hope for our nation, and we have allowed them to divide us by appealing to our fears, and anger while they systematically aquire more power and money.

      Please. A deal was made that the party would support Clinton in 2016. Everyone remembers that Obama beat Clinton in 2008..that's not true. Clinton conceded the nomination after neither candidate had won. Clinton could have brought the fight to the democratic convention because no one won but she did not. This is the reason why the party is 100% behind Clinton in 2016. Hillary Clinton received 18 million votes in the 2008 primary. More votes than any candidate in primary history. Clinton earned this.

      While I didn't make myself crystal clear, the sentiment stands in that VPs don't get elected to be president very often (hence why I said norm). Roosevelt himself lamented being nominated VP, as that surely meant Taft would get the nomination when McKinley stepped down.

      +The Super Psycho Killer most of his ideas align with Bernie more then Clinton. for example he said that he wants 16 years of free public tuition. Bernie very much supports that unlike Clinton

    I think we should take time to honour Biden.
    He willingly took this job on knowing that he would handle the dirty stuff. That Hillary had been promised the nomination. And he went about the job in a tough and honest way.
