    Oily pineapple has struck a chord with me and now I really want this, cheers Jeff! Heard a lot of good things quietly about this whisky

      Glad it is music to your ears buddy! Well worth a try when you are able to get your hands on it for a good price! Not many bottles will beat it in battle

    We just picked up a Craigellachie a few weeks back but have yet to uncork it. Thanks for making us more motivated to get to that bottle. Cheers to ya.

      Let me know your thoughts as soon as you do, a wonderful one from the first pop. Bit like pringles though and once you pop it is hard to stop! Cheers!

      Thank you buddy! I still am not back to 100, but glad to be back to this level! Need those senses for an upcoming whisky festival 😉

    Good to see you back. Deffo a whisky slap! Probably my go to dram ... certainly one of my favourites. A cracking durty dram! Really enjoy this dram, feel it has a little of everything. Also loving exploring indie bottlings too. Cheers!

      Think you got a fantastic choice of go to dram there! What's been your favourite indie Craigellachie? I have had the Heroes & Heretic's and "taste of Scotland" mini bottle.

      @@JeffWhisky the whisky broker Craigellachie drams are fab and great value too ... highly recommend them. To be fair not had a bad indie yet ... infrequent flyers and Douglas Laing also worth a look.

      Hey Werner, great to have you here. It really is a whisky that is liked by so many, even if for some it takes a few attempts to connect with it. Cheers to the start of a brilliant Whisky journey!

    Craigellachie is one of my mystery whiskies. Sometimes you just don't know what to get as I've had some proper beefy sulphur bombs to oily and zesty refill numbers. Great distillery!

    • @JeffWhisky
      @JeffWhisky  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very true that! What's been your favourite Craigellachie? Mine is this 13 had a strange "whisky of Scotland" bottle which was fine but generic and a indie H&H one which was pure sulphur.

    • @ryansutherland5628
      @ryansutherland5628 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Reviewed a bottle from Douglas Laing which was great and although weighty offered a really nice 2nd fill sherry style. Cadenheads released an original collection 12yo last year which was pure beef hula hoops and I adored it 😍

    Craigellachie ftw. It's one of those whiskies which is just 'nice-flavoured' and tailored to my tastes to the point where I have yet tease out any particular nosing/tasting notes. I look forward to pouring some and seeing if I can make any of the notes you got. I know I particularly like the nose - I don't know how to describe it other than 'resinous wood polish, in a good way'

    • @JeffWhisky
      @JeffWhisky  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could not agree more. Resinous Wood Polish is a great note and probably more relatable then my strange experiences! Cheers for watching!

    Almost always, I prefer Indy, often cask strength, bottlings of most whiskies. I’ve tried a higher strength sherry octave finished version and it was too sulphury for me. I tried the standard OB 13 year old at a pub the other week and I was pleased I still loved it. This is one occasion where the in house blender has got it perfectly right with the difficult elements involved. I must get a new bottle of it!

    • @JeffWhisky
      @JeffWhisky  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad I'm not the only one who has found this to be better than some Indys. I too tried a sherry led independent which was like sucking on a spent match. Cheers for watching Ed 👍

    • @edfriday7709
      @edfriday7709 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JeffWhisky Aye. It was a bottler based in my wee town and I love virtually everything they do except for that octave. It might be interesting to try a bourbon or other wine finish octave.

    Nice one, my dude!
    I've got one little gripe, but what do I know? Not too keen on the tasting notes floating like credits.
    Obviously, everything else is so oily and beautiful!

    • @JeffWhisky
      @JeffWhisky  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's the kind of feedback I love buddy. Was it too quick or distracting? I have learnt I have to limit how many layers appear at one time otherwise crashing the editing software 😂. Cheers for watching, this one for me is certainly a whisky win!

    Did you note the "struck match" sulfur finish? It makes it quite fun like you just escaped an oily smoky pineapple factory fire in Yellowstone.

      "escaping an oily smokey pineapple factory fire in Yellowstone" is the kind of tasting notes I like! I certainly get that gunpowder twinge but luckily it is not in that rotten eggy territory. Cheers Doctorxita
