I only rented it for the day, it was far too soft, i had to keep turning up the compression dial on the right to try not to blow through the travel

would you still prefer a full powered e bike? or would you for one of these? i have a full powered e bike and would like a go of one of these

For me, i'll be going for the lightweight emtb. If you are used to a full power one, i think you would notice a massive decrease in power. (this one was only 35nm). If you go around in trail/turbo all day on your full one, you wont like this i dont think! eco mode is equivilent to being 1 gear higher and you putting in effort that you could mabye only manage for 1 min before having to stop. These ones are lighter, so should chage direction better and be less of a tank on the downhill, i like the bike to move around etc so suits me.

ahh, well fair enough. Im the same, i want the fitness, just make it a bit easier up the hills so i can get more in. This Kenevo was far too much of a bike though, 180mm travel, 63.5 head angle and long reach 29er. When i got back on my transition patrol, which is 170/160 still a 63.5 head angle but 27.5 wheels, the patrol felt significantly more fun and flickable (but transitions apparweltly are more about the fun than outright speed ) . Not sure how much of that is down to the 29er vs 27.5 etc as the bikes actually feel about the same weight. I'd say the power is more like what you are looking for then.
