The control panel above the drivers head may be against the MSUK yearbook as sufficient padding must be in place around the driver. Section 1.3.6.
The wiring is fantastic Greg really interested in this side of motorsport. Have you looked in to "e fuses" which allow for a sudden high amp draw then stabalise? May make life easer? Also known as slown burn fuses.

Thanks Ben, I will double check, but worse comes to worse I can move it over above the rear view mirror and put the padding in it's place, it's still almost an arms stretch out where it is so even in an accident my head should be no were near it.
No haven't looked at that option, just thought this option was the best/newest thing to do to try and bring an old car into new present technology
