    This is the major difference between kids today and how kids were raised 30+ years ago. My mom made food for the entire family. Did I always like it as a child? No, I didn't but my mom didn't care. Her exact words were the same every time, "You can eat the food I make for you or you can make your own food." It was such a simple but yet very forward message for all her kids to follow.

    What a sensible and simple chicken recipe! I have my chicken drumsticks in my crockpot with mixed vegetable, turnips and a large avacado with a package of turkey gravy mix and I'll add some water and cook on low for 3 hours.

    We will try it without the salt which is the "soul food" prep. I will add dry white beans cilantro and a bay leaf. I am going to use a bell pepper and a sweet potato because I do not like carrots either. My sister is watching over my shoulder and is planning on cooking it this week leading up to the New Year 2022! Thanks. That kid will grow up and eat and cook well for others. I was the same way! He will not forget this time with his mom. You can be tough and han out with mom! Lol

    My mom sure never gave me a choice of what I'd eat and what I wouldn't. Eat it or do without. No snacking on other stuff to fill you up. The only thing I wouldn't push on my daughter when she was little was sauerkraut. But she likes that now, too. As a matter of fact, she now eats things I wouldn't . Now that's funny.

    • @katrinaTravelBae100
      @katrinaTravelBae100  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is funny. I have tried that. My mom did that with us too...different times. But im a picky eater myself kinda. But not like my son. Im just praying he grows out of it. Its hard.

    Fussy eaters? That's a first world problem. There are places in the world where kids don't have the luxury of being fussy eaters.
    Add to that, I remember having food put in front of me, growing up and being told that if I didn't eat it, I'd be going without! I soon learned to eat it! 😉

    Hi, Sandy here; This looks delicious, any approximate amounts, (measurements) printable? As for your picky eater, no offense, but you kinda made it sound like a joke & really didn’t matter that he wasn’t going to even try it. Like a running joke, “He knows, that you know, he ain’t even gonna try anything (and probably going to make a whole other meal of he wants! Growing up, right from the beginning, my girls knew the drill, “this isn’t a restaurant, eat what’s on the table, or no snack, & it’s a long time til breakfast. Obviously I wouldn’t force them to eat something they hated so much it would make them gag, (if it was something new & they didn’t like how it looked, they had to at least take a bite, if they didn’t like it there was usually a few other things they could still eat on their plate, (mashed potatoes, veggies)I just would tell them we all have something that’s our favorite & every meal was someone’s favorite! It’s quite obvious that Kayden is smart as a whip, and you love him very much, (& he’s so charmingly playing you like a fiddle, so maybe if you just buy a few things he loves as a special treat, instead of him telling you what he’s gonna eat, & you having to make separate meals, just a thought. That seems like a great way to have him helping to make the meal, maybe if you both can put ideas of what (your choice for healthy part, or cooking it a different way. Good luck. Can’t wait to make this meal, thanks for sharing -SANDY-
