I have been a single father since 96. I knew little about cooking. Had a son and daughter. they were 9 and 12 when their mother left us. Any way you have taught me to make good dinners. You have been an inspiration to me and thank you. I look at others but keep coming back to you
I was 11 and my brother was 16 when my mom left. I remember my dad making the same 2 dinners; spagettit and some other pasta thing...but I remember his struggle and how he was there and your children will too. Real men raise their kids. Unfortunately my ex husband has barely seen our 3 kids since he moved out (mutiiual decision), but I have a man who has taken on raising them 24/7 with me. Women never love a man more that when he is taking care of her children. You must be a good man.
Making this a second time this month. As a single dude who lives alone this is just so easy and there are plenty of leftovers to bring to work for lunch or dinner paired with a grilled cheese. Yum yum yum!
@MellKerrigan I find that when you slow cook meat in this way, browning the meat tends to make the meat a little tougher. For this recipe, the meat is incredibly tender and melts in your mouth when not browned ;)
Very true! Except, when doing a roast or any kind of a larger cut or piece of meat. Then, it's best to sear the meat (brown it) on ALL sides. that keeps the flavor in and also helps to keep it very tender. Just speaking from my personal experiences and what I've learned in the past. I can't wait to try this! It looks and seems Delicious.
I discoverd the slow cooker eight years ago in Great Britain and bought one for me and my family. In Germany they are nearly unknown at this time. I love cooking with it. And it's perfect in fact I'm a working mom of 2 hungy teenager sons. The last two years the slow cooker becomes more and more famous in Germany and a lot of my friends have one or two of it. I love your recipes and tried some of them in the past. Thanks for sharing
Its my first time using a slow cooker and im so thankful for this video and discovering this channel!! cant wait to see how it turns out, looks super good
Hello, i am so happy to find your channel once again. I watch, learned and enjoyed your recipes. Hope u r doing well and hope u r still putting pit out recipes. Thanks from 🇨🇦
We're expecting 12" of snow here tomorrow in NY, so I came back and found this recipe because I can't think of anything better than nice, warm beef stew in the cold!
Chef I just made it was great. Had to make it a bit different since I didn't have bacon (used chorizo instead) but it was great and really easy. Thank you for this recipe!
I just received my 3rd crock pot as a Christmas present from my daughter. I have worn out 2 previous over 35 years. This is the single greatest kitchen gadget an aspiring chef MUST have. I use mine at least once a week. In addition I have invested in or been gifted 6 crock pot cook books. So much creativity found in those. My crock pot from scratch marinara sauce is legend in our family. We call it 'red gravy'. I always take a jar or two to give as gifts when visiting relatives and friends and hence the 'legend' was born. Be sure to do your research before buying your crock pot because there is so much to understand beforehand.
Watched this one and your vegetable stew one. Been making chicken and vegetable stew for years in a slow cooker. Your programmes will encourage me to improve my batch cooked stews.
Hi. I tried this recipe. It smelled wonderful when I came home from church. I would use it again, however, I will omit the tomato paste next time. (or only use a tablespoon of it. ) I didn't care for the strong tomato taste and I only used 2/3rds of a cup rather than the whole cup. More carrots is definitely needed. One carrot isn't enough in my opinion. I used 3. I even added a stalk of celery to go along with this.
I made your recipe last night and I had it for supper tonight. WINNER! Utterly delicious. And fun to make. I had never used a slow cooker before (this was my late wife's domain) and it was easy! I made one serious error: I should have made the dish in the daytime rather than in the evening. The wonderful scent of the cooking lingered all night long and I found myself waking up to the scent and it was disruptive to my sleep. That's how good your recipe is! Thank you.
@rzaranko Australian Bacon is slightly different to what you guys call "bacon" - ours is closer to ham. It's usually served thicker and less crispy here. Feel free to use some diced ham instead ;)
The best method ever. My daughter gave me a slow cooker and this is going to be my very first recipe. You keep everything simple and easy. Thank you Chef 👩🍳.
You can brown the meat in a pan first if you wish, but the slow cooking process itself is what makes the meat tender and "melt in your mouth" - it takes time but it's worth the wait ;)
I tried it a couple of days ago, I noticed something, I used some more tomato and it turned out very tasty. I'm used to "seal" the meat before boilng it, so this is much more easy, and delicious too. Thank you.
Hi David! I made this today and my whole family loved it!! Delicious they said! Thank you for all your hard work. Your channel is awesome and so are you. 😘 and hugs from Smyrna, GA 🇺🇸
If you like chili con carne, it's a real winner in the slow cooker. Just remember, the cheap cuts, like shin, are the tastier, but take longer to cook.
Usually the Low/High settings are pretty standardized. Sounds like there might be a problem with the crockpot itself. Is it new or old? If there is nothing wrong with the crockpot, my advice is to let it cook until the meat and vegetables are done. It's virtually impossible to overcook anything in a crockpot. Sorry I couldn't be of more help ;)
I made this today,it's been in my crock pot for 4 hours,I didn't put the bacon in and added a can of stems and pieces shrooms, lol.it sure smells good so far,I'm having some fresh dinner rolls and butter to dunk in it.
If the beef wasn't tender and the carrots were hard, sounds like you didn't cook it for long enough. Either that, or the pieces of meat and vegetables were too big and needed longer too cook. Smaller pieces cook quicker ;)
I can watch this Artist create masterful recipes all day long.....Hes what you call a real chef...his voice has the sounds of Angels playing Harps...so easy on the ear....hope youre well mate. Cheers
OMG! After seeing this I went down the street and bought a slow cooker!! Ahaha, maing this tomorrow which I am really looking forward to! Keep up the good work. (loving your daily vlogs by the way.. look forward to them and laugh in every one!)
I did this recipe with one alteration: instead of tomato paste I used half a jar of leftover tomato pasta. Thank you for this recipe. It was easy and delicious
i just made this today 09 feb 2015 all i can say " out of this world " you need to made a slow cooker lamb and mint cass and post it, that would be nice !!!!
@@edplow5917 depending on the slow cooker material sometimes food will drip while your putting it in or when you take the lid off and if it drips onto a hotspot it will bake on and since the whole point is to leave it unattended for hours that makes the food cook on like you wouldn't believe and no amount of cleaning will get it off. I had that happen to my old crock pot but the new one has a black ceramic lip with a smooth enamel coating so now everything cleans off easily, but my old one looked nasty no matter how much i scrubbed.
Brown your meat first with a flour coating it’s amazing giving a nice deeper browning to your gravy aka( sauce) we Canadians make the best stew why as you k ow our winters can get brutal so stew is a must learn as a beginner cook just a tip big guy hugs

Making this a second time this month. As a single dude who lives alone this is just so easy and there are plenty of leftovers to bring to work for lunch or dinner paired with a grilled cheese. Yum yum yum!
The recipe I've always made also has green beans, corn and celery. We love having all of the vegetables in one big pot with the stew.
@MellKerrigan I find that when you slow cook meat in this way, browning the meat tends to make the meat a little tougher. For this recipe, the meat is incredibly tender and melts in your mouth when not browned ;)
I was wondering about that, as I hear different things from different people.
You could increase flavour by browning if you cut the meat into bigger chunks...
Very true! Except, when doing a roast or any kind of a larger cut or piece of meat. What an amazing meal
Yes i notice the beef is more tender when not browned too

Hello, i am so happy to find your channel once again. I watch, learned and enjoyed your recipes. Hope u r doing well and hope u r still putting pit out recipes. Thanks from 🇨🇦
Fellow Canadian, hello! I'll make this recipe this weekend. 😊
@toddweller Cornflour and Corn Starch are different names for the same product ;)
Decided to use my slow cooker for the first time ever today, and I’ve chosen this recipe. Just been shop n bought the ingredients. Wish me luck.
How'd it turn out? 😊

You can add a bit of sugar to take out some of that acid taste.
I have prepared it a few times and the result is always wonderful. thank you for this easy yet amazing recipe!
Dude, I LOVE your recipes! You're my favorite youtube chef. Please, never stop what you're doing! I made this tonight and it was absolutely delicious.
I made your recipe last night and I had it for supper tonight. WINNER! Utterly delicious. And fun to make. I had never used a slow cooker before (this was my late wife's domain) and it was easy! You can also add swede,Turnip ,celery and about 30 to 40 mins before the end of cooking about 6 to 8 dumplings
This is wonderful. Can hardly wait to make this. Thank you for sharing this with all of us here.
That looks seriously good and easy. I can't wait to try it out. Thank you from England.
Just prepared this and it is currently cooking in me new slow cooker. First time I've ever tried cooking .... hope it goes well

I made this last night! The stew was awesome. I had it with rice. Thanks so much Chef. 🥘

:( my meat is tough as old boots and really don't know why.

Made this , it's beyond delishious 💓
@madlynda Your slow cooker is a great investment. It'll quickly become your favourite kitchen item :)
I made this today and stuck to this recipe and it turned out lovely, like a country stew. Much different to my stew on the hob. Lovely it was.
If the beef wasn't tender and the carrots were hard, sounds like you didn't cook it for long enough. Either that, or the pieces of meat and vegetables were too big and needed longer too cook. Smaller pieces cook quicker ;)
Easy and so tasty..on a winters day...more One Pot Meals please

I just told my bf to get bacon. Never tried stew with bacon before and idk why! Haha. Thank you chef. Cannot wait to try this 🙂
How did it turn out with the bacon?!
@sunshinegypsea it def had alot more flavor. It tasted more comforting. 😋 you should try it!
That may sound weird, but I really like your voice 😂
I did this recipe with one alteration: instead of tomato paste I used half a jar of leftover tomato pasta. Thank you for this recipe. It was easy and delicious
i just made this today 09 feb 2015 all i can say " out of this world " you need to made a slow cooker lamb and mint cass and post it, that would be nice !!!!
Hi great stuff. Does the stock have to cover all the ingredients?
never trust a skinny chef
DO YOU THINK THE CHEF COULD WASH THE OUTSIDE OF THE CROCK POT YEARLY?SLOB
I think it's consistent with the one pot, not fancy, you-can-do-it-too concept. That's how many well-used crock pots look.
🤣

I’m just trying this right now. I hope it turns out well. I added a can of peas and corn since I like them.

I used rump steak for this recipe. No, need to cook the meat prior to putting it in the pot, but you can lightly brown it in a fry pan if you wish ;)
I do it to enhance the flavor and coated with flour no need for corn starch which tends to thin out when reheated.
This Guy is a GENIUS :)
Could listen to you all day. Love your cooking. Xx
Good explanation, cheerful voice , nice personality, and a healthy meal . Thanks
bye-con! loves it! i love ur accent
I tried this over the weekend, put in 2 cups of red wine and it turned out just great. So many items totry heres
Why do Aussie men love their slow cookers so much? Well.......more time to drink beer!
looks great and made simple, no mess, no seasonings just natural foods & liquids
Love these videos!
Could you do the same thing but with chicken instead? :)
Yes, you can use chicken if you like ;)
Rae g
Sam Robinson zA
When using chicken, I tend to use thighs, and lower legs. They are a lot cheaper than breast meat, and taste a lot better.
@Sweetone51 Thanks - glad you liked it :)
I appreciate the video(s), but that isn't an image of what you actually made from the video that you're using as a thumbnail.
I was wondering the same thing. Where are the peas from the picture.
Thanks for posting. I’m trying this tomorrow
Crock pot rule don't touch the lid lol
Great bloke!! Thank you Mr One Pot!!
Why didnt you brown your meat first? It would taste so much better
I thought that too.
Hello. Your the FIRST person barring myself who recommends eating a casserole WITH pasta. Kudos.
Having an argument with my girlfriend about where you are from. New Zealand or Australia?
+tayza29 I'm from Australia :)
OnePotChefShow so am I but live in USA. Going to cook this
how many beef cubes did you put in the jug for the stock great cooking tasty .
new to a slow cooker so need some ideas as am a bit scared of undercooking resulting in food poisoning
No worries the same thing applies for all meat, look up the internal temperature and just get a cheap meat thermometer from any supermarket to make sure it's done. :)
Just seal your meat and onions in a frying pan prior to slow cooking if you want a little reassurance.
@joycevreal Thank you - I'm glad you liked my video :)
Thank you for not making me watch you cut veggies and meat, like your style
Thank you for sharing those wonderful and tasty recipes.
Keep up the good work Chef 🙏👌
