I’m one of those people with shy bladder and am really excited about the prospect of not having to provide urine for our random drug tests anymore due to the saliva test being added. Will there be an alternative test for the DOT medical exam as well? I’ve always thought diabetes could be tested for in several ways that does not require a urine sample.
I've always had trouble with the cpap compliance. I'm glad they relaxed that. Because it never impaired my driving if i failed to use it a few days in a row. Ofcourse I'm a local driver so I'm never driving more than 2 hours at a time between stops.

Sleep testing is not a requirement, nor is it legal to recommend testing, to pass a dot physical and receive a 1 or 2 year medical card. Law passed in 2013 that requires dot to either mandate testing via a regulation or to not do it at all. As of now 10/18/2024 they have not made that regulation. So if you're administering a dot physical, you can not require a driver to get a sleep test. That would be against the law.

Now the examiner wants me to have a stress test it’s never been a issue in the pass. I now have to find a new cardiologist as mind has moved on. I am currently a courier for a local company have my class E and drive a sprinter van and deliver packages for 10+ hours a day with 0 issues. I passed their backround check and drug test with a note from my methadone presciber with no problem at all. My question is would I just rinse and repeat for my dot physical and medical card for obtaining a cdl? Lemme know thanks...

I know there are corrective lenses for color blindness (Enchroma glasses) but my question is… Are these Enchroma glasses allowed in the DOT physical exam? Or Do I have a chance to get a CDL being red-green colorblind? (I can recognize red, green and amber)

hey guys and gals, Sleep apnea is at the dr.'s discretion. It doesn't matter your weight, bmi or neck size. It's all a kickback for the insurance companie's, Dr's office's and mega trucking companie's. Also, doesn't matter if you're skinny or fat. They will say you have sleep apnea regardless. ( THERE'S NO FEDERAL REGULATION FOR SLEEP APNEA AND FMSCA) We don't sleep during the day while we drive LOL. Do your research. No trucking company or dr's office will pay 5,000 dollars for an actual sleep test (at a hospital) they put a phony thumb device on your thumb and boom, the next day you have "sleep apnea". What I am trying to say is work a local driving job. Stay away from mega carriers.
Will someone on medication for rheumatoid arthritis be automatically disqualified or will that change anything in the qualification process? For instance if its under control and patient has no problems as long as medication is taken daily and as prescribed by doctor? Patient already works a physical demanding job landscaping and land clearing without any issues.

What if someone had a mild sleep apnea result and now they are having trouble getting their med card due to confusion on using their new cpap machine. Can they retake the sleep test and go to a new dot physical doctor and give them the new sleep study results with it being that the patient doesn't have sleep apnea how would that work or could it work??? Please help
I have had a similar issue, I think they og doctor wanted the results. 3 month med card. Went to different spot, approved for 2 years. I only pointed out that I have done one and that no way in hell I'm doing that study. I was approved 😆 My advice is to keep getting extensions until fully approved. The company paid for mine, medical costs are tax deductible plus it is a work expense also or get it reimbursed through company. Just keep going for extensions or until clean pass, plus go jog 3 times a week if it's an obesity issue on the side

I had tested positive for methadone and had to get a note from doctor but now I have my CDL A and I hear I’m not gonna be able to drive on methadone

I have had a DOT since 2004. I have had MS since 1998. The Dr. said I can’t get a DOT now. Is this true?

Each Dr. is entitled to order any exam they like even if it is not technically required.
