My feelings about Yut-Lung and this scene are down below in just a simple paragraph so if you're not interested in reading, just keep scrolling.
I find Yut-Lung to be an interesting antagonist. Even though he has done horrible things, I can't hate him as a character because I still see that he has good left in him but it is not shown because he is fueled by so much hatred. Blanca is aware of this as well, despite their differences he still wishes that Yut-Lung will find someone who loves him so that he can finally start seeing the world from a more positive perspective. Yut-Lung has only come to know hatred ever since he was merely 6 years old and witnessed his brothers do cruel things to his mother. He is envious that Ash, someone who saw as similar to him, went through such horendus things but still knows how to love thanks to Eiji. Yut-Lung feels that he won't ever find someone who will teach him how to love like Eiji did for Ash, so he has made it his goal to kill Eiji. It is selfish, nevertheless I still find it to be a very interesting motive. This scene in particular really hit me, though. We already knew that Yut-Lung had witness his mother get killed by his brothers, but we never got much of a thorough explanation until now. I wanted to share this scene because I felt that it was really important and emotional, despite how disturbing it is. Tell me how you feel about Yut-Lung as a #BananaFish antagonist or as a character in general in the comments, I'd love to hear about all the good AND the bad!♡

It’s easy to forget that Yut Lung is only 16 years old, he’s just a little kid. So incredibly sad

He loved his mother. But his mother's love was taken away from him so early, he must've forgotten what it was to love and only know how to crave it.
Headcanon: he grows his hair long because he resembles her. So he intentionally makes himself look feminine so he so t forget what she looked like
At first, I didn't like Yut-Lung for all of the things he's done, but after learning about his past I'm beginning to think twice about him. Yut-Lung is the reason why we should be lucky to have people who loves us and that we know what is love.
I feel bad for him and i don't know why but I love him
I love and empathize with him as well. He has done unforgivable things, but I can't hate him.
Then are you supporting him trying to kill Eiji and ruining Ash for good ? He IS the one sabotaging their relationship. He can die in the gutter for all I care.
@@ThePerksdeLeSarcasmeSiorai Love and sympathy does not equal support. You're free to have your own opinions and I actually encourage commenting them but try to understand where other people are coming from as well. I think it's very possible to love a character without condoning their actions.
Allison Madrigal And still, He had NO RIGHTS whatsoever to sabotage other people’s relationships. Ash’s childhood was such as tragic yet he rose to power and still developed meaningful relationships with others. Yut Lung became the bully he despised and for that, I will never forgive him.

Apparently, it took this scene about his past for some people to actually feel for him but it was pretty obvious that his past was fucked from early on.

my grandma grew up in hong kong and her whole life it was a complete norm for young women to be sold off to much older men in exchange for money .
this had been common in southern chinese culture for centuries .

Yut is my third favourite in this series. I was really happy that he managed to redeem himself in the end. I thought, yay! he can finally get to live a happy and peaceful life with Sing. Then I recently found out what happened to him in Yasha, and I'm even more disappointed with Yoshida. It's just too much. Just when I thought this character couldn't get any more tragic.

@@theresat1776 It is another manga by Akimi Yoshida. The story is set years after Garden of Light. I actually haven't read it yet, but I saw a part where Sing, who is now much older, made an appearance, and Yut Lung was mentioned. And well, things didn't go well with Yut Lung in the end.

Poor Yut, refuses to believe that it's possible to experience trauma without punishing other people for it. Ash didn't live a life of hatred, and he had every right to. He even felt guilty about Arthur's death, and didn't look happy when his trash father or Golzine died.
A horrible past doesn't excuse his bizarre obsession with Ash and Eiji's relationship, or plotting to give Eiji to Golzine or trying to get him killed numerous times.

i relate to him so much, sure a lot or some of his actions were wrong but he was lonely, if someone had taken his side for one time he would’ve maybe finally found someone to love and stay by his side just like his mother, but his mother was torn from him, right infront of him, he doesn’t want anyone’s pity nor do i think he likes being compared to ash, yes he and ash went through something similar but i think yutlung made it clear enough he doesn’t wanna be compared to him as ash had someone there for him and was willing to go back to him every single time but yutlung was alone, everytime he met someone they left and never came back.
