Great job br0! MegaMan 2 aka MetalBlade Man 2. Your vid has lots of great concept art and clips from the cartoons. You hit all the right notes, from the missing scoreboard to the OP metal blade. You even included the cheesy Worlds of Power book, I got it as a stocking stuffer way back in the day and still have it. The controls do feel a little tighter from the first MegaMan, but there is still a slight "sliding" after landing a jump, I tend to notice it early in Metal Man's stage when jumping between those falling chain hazards. Can't wait for MegaMan 3!
You made some great points in the last video so thank you for bringing a few of those points to light. I may have to call upon an old friend in a certain MM3 video
This is my personal favorite one on NES. I thought that the level design and music were really good, and the final level and boss fight is especially amazing with building an atmosphere. I know that the Metal Blade is a pretty big criticism point, but I don't really mind it that much. It was overpowered, but I think it's overpowered in the way that Mkwii's Flame Runner and Smash 64's Pikachu were overpowered,. The metal blade gives you a lot of options and freedom for how you want to approach the game, so I never felt like my fun was impeded.
Agreed! The metal blade is really fun yo use! it’s just super satisfying having the full range to bombard your enemies at every turn 😆 Poor metal man tho that instant kill
Another great review. I dig your personal experiences from the 80s/90s. For me, Nintendo Power was my first glace at Mega Man 2 and I was mesmerized by the art and the idea that Mega Man could obtain 8 special powers at once (11, if you count the Items).
🙏 I always loved the classified information section finding the codes for punchouts secret circuit….clues to Dracula’s Riddle in Castlevania 2 and I remember first discovering the MegaMan 3 super jump trick.. something to do with holding down the right input on the D pad on controller 2…
I'm often asked me why I eat chicken and, in short, I do it for the sole reason that it's delicious. If there's anything I would say, it's eat chicken...because one day they may fade. And faded chicken is like a ghost fart. You may be able to replicate its sound, but no one else will be able to smell it.
@@RockinKatReviews In some ways, yes. Some of the later entries are superior (4, 7, 9 and 10) or at least have superior qualities (3, 5 and 6). Nonetheless, most of the classic series is satisfactory or above.
@@fictionalmediabully9830 I def agree with your take on 6 might be my personal favorite in the original series. I would need to hear a tier list of which you got from best to worst sometime
What are there......like 10 Mega Man games? Maybe more? Mega Man 2 is the gold standard. Its the high water mark. Not that the others aren't good, but the second game is the best on every level. It also has the best music of, not only the Mega Man series, but of probably that entire generation of Nintendo game music.
It doesn’t get too much better than mm2. The music is top notch and I think the way you put it as the gold standard is a great way to look at it. Almost as a reference point for future installments. They did make MM11 on switch but since then Capcom has been kind of quiet with the original series
one of the best in the original series
Agreed
Well done bro. You are improving with each video
🙏 more to come soon glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the support

I love this sequel, it’s a fun challenge with great music that is memorable
Fully agree.. I think it’s a tie for me between 2 and 6 for the music but 2 is just so iconic it’s hard to top it
Metal blade was broken
It was a game changer

It's an alright game, but some poor level design and weapon balancing make it worse than its reputation.
Do you think they improved as the franchise progressed. Like with the MMX and MMLegends series
