    I just bought my 2021 NX 300h 8/15/2022 and the tutorials have been amazingly helpful. These stand the test of time!! I refer people in the NX groups on Facebook to these videos often. When I visited the tech specialist at my local dealership he was very impressed with the depth of my knowledge, and this is 100% because of the thorough explanation and demonstrations. I refer back to this video frequently. So well done. Thanks a hundred times over! Tech Tip Tuesdays are also fun to watch as well☀️

    Thank you‼️ This is the MOST robust video I’ve found. Although I have a 2018, 90% of the video STILL applies. Lexus should require people to watch this video AFTER they take it from the lot. I still learned so many things today about my car! ☺️

    Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am a senior who leased a 2019 NXh in Naples, FL. Nobody at the dealer bothered to explain how everything worked at the time of delivery. With only seven more months to go on my lease your video finally showed me how to operate all the bells and whistles. Wish I lived closer to Spring, TX. Would definitely lease my next Lexus from you.

      Well, I'm so glad to help, but sorry that it took so long for you to learn about all the goodies on your NXh. I started making these videos, because we weren't able to help people in person due to COVID. They've been such a hit that I plan to just keep making them. I'm working on all the 2021 models and have almost all of them out now. Then when the 2022's start rolling in I'll work on those. Happy to help! Thanks so much for tuning in. :)

      To your question: The 2021 and all previous year NXs all have a single disk CD player in the dash. NXs with the 10.3-inch display have a single disk DVD player. It can play DVD audio and if you are stopped, with the emergency brake on, you can see the video on the screen.

    I am so thrilled to find this video. We are seniors who just bought a 2021 NX 300 Sport. Our dealer has been wonderful, but I think we non-geeks have tried the patience of their tech personnel! We are having a terrible problem with the door locking. We want the back doors to be unlocked, and the windows operable, at all times (w/o the driver having to manually unlock them each time we get in.) We did the key thing--pressing open and close simultaneously. We got the beep, then no change. The dealer said they made the change for us, but I'm still locked into the car most times. Opening via the rear door handle does open all the doors. But, once the car starts, they lock again. I feel claustrophobic "trapped" the back seat. Any suggestions? Thank you for the video, too. We are amazed at all the features and customization available!! (I am not concerned that someone will jump into the car in a dark parking lot, but I understand the safety feature aspect of door locking.)

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Elieen, Thanks so much for your kind comments about the video. If I'm understanding you correctly you would like the car to not lock any doors after the car has bee started, put into gear and is on the road? All doors, including the back doors. I haven't had anyone request tis before so I haven't tested it out, but here's what I would say to try:
      Menu > Setup > Vehicle > Vehicle Customization > Door Lock Settings > Automatic Door Lock > Off
      The resource I'm using is the list of Lexus Personalized Settings available online: drivers.lexus.com/content/dam/lexusdrivers/media/lps/2021/2021%20NX%20300%20Customer%20LPS%20Form.pdf
      Item #1 under Door Lock Settings.
      For the windows just make sure that they are not locked from the Window Lock button in the driver's door. Then the windows can be operated from any seat.
      Hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in to the channel!

      Hi Steven, Thanks so much for watching! Yes, there is a Freeway Exit or Freeway Information list that can be turned on or off in settings. What year is your NX? There were a couple of years where it was not customizable, but if you have a software update available (including the retrofit for Apple carPlay that was released in the US for certain cars) it is usually part of that update. If it is on your vehicle here's how to customize it: Go to Menu > Setup > Navigation > Detailed Navi Settings and look for anything about Freeway Exit or Popup Information and turn those items off. @NorthsideLexus  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi @Levitch07 ! Congrats on your 2016 NX300h! If your NX has run flat tires and didn't come with a spare, you can check with your Lexus dealership to see if they have a compatible tire that is a traditional tire. And the next time you need tires you can consider changing. The technology for runflat tires has really come a long way, but it does take some getting used to to drive around without a spare. All the best!

      Hi! The best option would probably be to set it to auto lock "By Shift From Park." And the auto unlock set to "By Shift TO Park." Then when you come to a stop, shift to Park, the doors will unlock, passengers can get out safely. When you're ready to drive again, shift out of Park and the car will relock. Hope this helps. 👍

    Is the 21’ touch screen. My parents just got a 21’ with the 10.8 screen and it is not touch screen?

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 2021 NX did not have a touch screen. You use the Remote Touch Pad like a mouse to operate the system. Generally if a screen is deep set into the dash, it is not remote touch because it is too far away from the driver to easily operate the controls. When Lexus changed to touchscreens, the screens are pulled closer to the front of the dash and some even tilt slightly toward the driver. Thanks for checking in! I hope your parents will enjoy their NX!

      Hi Victoria, I'm glad most things are setup! That's great! I'm sorry the NAV is being troublesome for you. Are you trying to save your Home shortcut? If so, the easiest way is to be at the location you want to save then do this:
      Menu > Setup > NAV > Home > Current Location and follow the steps to save it.
      Then it will save based on the location of your vehicle. To use the Go Home shortcut, just voice command : "Go home."
      Check starting on page 97 of the online NAV Owner's Manual for more info: drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/document/omnav-s/OM78607U/pdf/OM78607U.pdf

      Hi Noah! Thanks so much for watching! The Sound settings will save automatically after you select them by clicking on the + or - for the Audio Source that is actively playing. Keep in mind that different sources can have their own Sound Settings. Change the source, then customize the settings for that source (AM, FM, SAT, etc.). When you see your selections on the screen they should save automatically. Unless you are clicking on a slide bar to increase or decrease the amount, then you need to click down again to make your selection and move off of the slide bar. That should show you your selection and it should be saved. I hope this helps.

      Hi @okaythen: The roof rails on the NX are adjustable and they can be removed. They do require a key and the key would have come with the set or rails. @NorthsideLexus  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! I think the Owner's Manual is the best resource. Here's what the manual for the 2021 NX300h says:
      www.lexus.com/My-Lexus/resources#manuals_and_guides_promo
      (page 432)
      "You must only use unleaded gasoline in your vehicle. Select octane rating 87 (Research Octane Number 91) or higher. Use of unleaded gasoline with an octane rating lower than 87 may result in engine knocking. Persistent knocking can lead to engine damage."
      This means the vehicle was tested w/ 91 octane, but you can safely use 87 or higher. For best performance and fuel economy use the research octane. In this case 91. I hope this helps.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi A.T, sorry for the delay. If you have a 2018 NX300 with the NAV package, make sure the Micros SD card is in the port. Open the small door below the CD player. You can pop the card out and back in. If it is missing you will need to purchase a NAV SD card from your Lexus dealer. They are VIN specific and I do not recommend buying them online, because you can't guarantee they will be compatible. If you don't have a NAV package, the 2018 NX is compatible for the Apple CarPlay retrofit in the US. Check with your dealership to find out about cost and availability to book an appointment. There is not a compatible retrofit for Android Auto. There was also a Scout GPS Link app compatible with the non-NAV vehicles in some areas. You could look into that as well. None of the map apps will go through the Lexus app though. That will be to manage Service Connect health reports and other subscription connected services like Remote and Safety Connect for the SOS button. I hope this helps explain it for you. Thanks for tuning in.

      @NorthsideLexus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Johnny! You'll want to use the mechanical key for that. I made a video about what to do when the key fob battery dies. Not that that is your issue, but it will show you how to access the metal key and how to lock the car from the key cylinder. th-cam.com/video/ALL6ha6dAxI/w-d-xo.html
      Some other tips:
      - When you lock with the metal key, you will have to unlock with the metal key. The buttons on the key fob and on the door handles will not operate.
      - Make sure to take the key fob with you. The car will beep, but you will not be leaving your key in a running vehicle.
      - Cars now have an auto shut-off safety feature. The car will turn off after idling for about an hour. Or after about 40 minutes if in Accessory Mode (without the engine running).
      - You can also lock the car and start the engine with the Remote feature in the Lexus app. It will run for 10 minutes and then you can do a second 10 minute run remotely. After two remote cycles, you have to start the car with the push button.
      Hope this helps!

      Hi @Saeed_Rind Thanks for tuning in. Great question! That is the indicator for the alarm system that comes with you Lexus. When you lock the car it is armed and the light will flash. When the alarm is not set the light will be solid. There is a good explanation on page 69 of the digital Owner's Manual: drivers.lexus.com/t3Portal/document/om-s/OM78254U/pdf/OM78254U.pdf if you want to read more about it. The main thing to know is that the alarm does not include glass breakage detection. It is an entry deterrent. So if someone pulls hard on the door handle it will go off. But if they break a window it doesn't usually sound the alarm until they open the door. Lexus does have a glass breakage package available, but I don't think it is on all models. I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mario! Congratulations on your new NX! Not to worry, volume issues are all about phone settings so your beautiful new vehicle is not the culprit. Try these trouble shooting tips: (every volume setting on smart phone is now independent of the call volume when you are not connected to another device, like the car.)
      1. Power off you phone and turn it back on to do a soft reset of phone.
      2. Once the phone is back on, let it connect to the Bluetooth system in the car.
      3. Start with the Bluetooth volume for phone calls. Place a call to someone willing to help troubleshoot. Once the call is active, turn the volume all the way up on the side of your iPhone. Then start adjusting it on the car. (even if your normal call volume is all the way up, this will be a separate call volume setting and can only be done while on a BT connected call.)
      4. If that is successful move on to Bluetooth Audio. Get something playing on your phone, select Bluetooth Audio from your Audio Source, turn the volume all the way up on the side of the iPhone, then adjust further on the car.
      5. Siri through Bluetooth is next. Press and hold the Talk button on the steering wheel, wait for the tones, say "How's the weather." When Siri starts talking, adjust the volume on the side of the iPhone all the way up and then adjust further on the car.
      6. Then check your Apple CarPlay settings for volume, by plugging in the phone for Apple CarPlay and make a call or send a text and start adjusting the volume on the side of the iPhone first than on the car.
      I'm not sure why the smartphone software engineers though separating all of the volume controls was a great idea, but they did. I hope this helps. All the best.

      @@bsatylganov Sorry to hear that, but the seats are not designed to be removed. You may need to talk to a Technician who is trained on structural details for the vehicle. I specialize in Lexus Technology and training and would not be able to advise you on dismantling seats. Also make sure you aren't at risk of voiding your warranty if you remove the seats. That is always a risk when working with after market accessories. Best of luck with your project. Sorry I'm not able to help.

    Thank you for the very useful video ! I have just bought the 2021 NX 300 with almost all options and everything run well. I love the car ! I have one minor question: every time driving home the car makes one bleeping sound when I get within under 1/4 of a mile to my house.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Congrats on your new NX300! It sounds like there is a notification set near your home, possibly for the "Home" shortcut on the vehicle or in a navigation app on your home. First check the following on the car:
      Menu - Setup - Navigation - Home - Edit - look at the Icon edit line, there are some options that play sounds. You can change this and choose a different icon that does not include an audible notification. If it is a navigation app on your phone, you'll need to check the settings in each of those apps. I'm guessing it is the setting in the car though, so I would start there to hopefully save you some time :) Let me know how it goes. Thanks so much for tuning in!

      Hi@@jankeely, My first NX also did not include the Power Back Door. When you look at the key fob, is there a button for the Power Back Door? If not, and there are only the door lock, unlock and alarm buttons, then the car did not come with the PBD feature. The only option would be to talk to your sales person. It is not something that can be added after the fact. I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you.

    Pity you didn't show the exterior of the car, even if in other videos, it is still good practice to show even a quick exterior view. I had to click off to another video to see what car you were talking about and that could lead me or a potential customer away from your channel. Just my few thoughts on the production side of things.

    • @NorthsideLexus
      @NorthsideLexus  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the feedback, microBROADCAST. These videos were originally intended to support our customers who had already bought the car, so showing the exterior was not part of the plan. Now, the channel has grown so much and many people seem to be using the videos during their shopping process, so this might be a great addition. I know they are already really long and that be be off-putting for some. Do you think adding a little bit of exterior and interior footage as an intro would be good? Thanks again.

    • @microbroadcast
      @microbroadcast 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NorthsideLexus Hi, yes, I think you are right. It's a good sign really that your videos have grown beyond what you initially thought they would be and are now getting a 'new' and wider audience. I also agree that a few short clips interspersed of the exterior now and then would be helpful as online visitors may not have seen any other videos, so an interior only shot won't convey what it looks like from the exterior. Maybe consider a graphics and music intro and outro e.g. just 30 seconds at the start and end, would also help. It would look more professional. Judging by your graphics you seem to have good software, so maybe it is just a matter of getting some motion graphic plug-ins and choosing some music. Best wishes with the videos.

      Hi Zahra, Yes, if you have an active Enform Remote account setup through the Lexus app you can remotely start the car through your phone app. The key fob can also be used to remotely start the car, but it has much more strict parameters and you need to be about 30 feet from the vehicle. The app requires a cell signal to the car and to the phone and can operate at any distance. Hope this helps.
