Lots of Lexus haters on here 😂 First off this is a Luxury brand, if your looking at a Lexus your not interested in a Rav 4 no matter what the similarities are. Also quit comparing it to a cx5 or the like. If you want to spend the money then do it. If you don’t then don’t. No one cares.
Disagree. I own 2 Lexus vehicles, and have owned 6, total - I'm no hater. The entire purpose of reviews and videos like this is to decide what to buy. Comparisons to Rav4 and CX-5 are entirely proper, and this is the perfect place for them.
Thanks for a good review. The positives outweigh the negatives, especially the reliability factor vs others. Just checking the drive-shaft (underneath) my NX-300 AWD, its a fairly clean design, changing the fluids is easy, engine oil, transfer case, differential, everything is right there.
I will swap my IS to next gen NX in 2022 without test drive purely based on my 100%confidence on Lexus and recent drive of RAV4 hybrid here in Australia and Highlander Hybrid late 2019 in Canada. The new NX must be awesome, no test required, because it is a Lexus. This gen is way too old and dynamically outdated, insurance companies love this one though:) Last but not least, awesome and objective review Tom and team.
Hey thanks for the review and subscribed. Family & I just picked one up in pearl white last week non sport model to replace our write-off 2011 Rav4 V6. You are spot on with your review regarding some of the negative points regarding the NX. But so far, we are loving it as it rides just as smooth, quick, and powerful as our 2010 RX350. One thing it's missing is a sunglasses holder! lol.
We just got a 2021 as well, only 14,900 K miles! But just curious, when I first turn it on, there’s a little purring sound. Is that normal? Is that the engine sound?
I had 2015 NX200t Fsport. I loved it then didn't like it anymore after 2 years then moved on to 2017 RX350 Fsport. The NX: the turbo lags so bad. The engine is weak. The whole car is way too small. Big stroller won't fit in the trunk. Anyway, recently i bought an additional car 2019 Acura RDX. This car is much faster and roomy compares to the Lexus NX. The design also looks good. The turbo on the RDX kicks in very early so you don't feel the lag that much. However, the Acura ride isn't that smooth compare to the Lexus which i like a lot. (I am spoiled with the Lexus V6 of the RX350)
With respect to visibility, I totally agree. Small side windows, high belt line, roof comes way forward making it feel somewhat claustrophobic. Not very roomy inside. My small sedan has more room inside. Drives great though. Wish it didn’t require premium fuel.
The nx f sport is good but for the other NX models, the biggest issue is that the Rav4 and venza exist You can get so much more in those two than any nx. Pano roof Heated rear seats Large lcd cluster Head up display Rear camera mirror Star gaze roof More modern hybrid with better economy and better performance The rav4 prime destroys the nx in every way
Great review! I am trying to decide between the Lexus Nx 300H and the new Toyota Venza Limited model. I love Lexus quality and the upscale interior of the NX, but the Venza Limited model has the updated amenities (i.e., panoramic moonroof, HUD) , is a bit bigger and has really comfortable seats. To make the decision even more difficult, Lexus has some great incentives right now that make the prices pretty close. Any input is appreciated?
The nx300 still has a more luxurious interior but the venza has more space and has better tech and dash in my opinion. It's a close call. Really depends on the incentives you can get. Now the service you get at a lexus dealership is unmatched though....
The ride quality on the Venza is a lot less stiff, but its powertrain isn't quite as refined. The transmission is much better when shifting on the Venza, and the noise of the CVT and engine is more suppressed, although wind noise is more pronounced. I would go with a Venza, the infotainment is much more intuitive, it's newer, with more features, and incentives are great this time of year. Toyota just announced a bunch of new savings, and the NX is about to be replaced, so go with the newer model.
@@alh06 Thank you very much for your input. The Venza Limited model really does have a lot of great features for the price and the NX is due for an update.
@@julied9017 if you could, you should wait for the new nx in 6 months . But if your trying to buy now then get the venza. It really Lexus like and a lot of bang for you bucks
Thanks for your honest review. Was thinking of getting one. But I have a question I am 5.2 and used to drive Hyundai Tucson which was great with visibility. Do you think this will work for me?
I’m 5’0” and find the Lexus seats don’t work because they are sport styled and there is the dashboard hump. Even with the seat all the way up, it’s not a comfortable ride. I really wished Lexus would step up their game in regards to seat adjustments or go with the trend and ditch the dashboard hump. Best of luck!
I pre-ordered the the new 2022 NX 350 AWD with 2.4L turbo petrol, 275bhp and 8 speed automatic. Did I do the right thing by choosing that over the hybrid?
Unfortunately when you say Lexus your expectations are set high. If in fact this is an entry level Lexus, then the expectations have to be at a level with its competitors. Obviously this is not the case. Price is at a level that you'd expect much much more.
Why do some car reviewers always complain about the Lexus touchpad that controls the screen because the obvious thing is that when you buy a Lexus or any. Car you will eventually get used to the way you control stuff it’s just dumb to say that the Lexus system is not that good.
Because we have the luxury of testing out all the controls from all of thr cars out there. We don't just accept that people will get used to them, we rank them vs other set ups.
Every cars system can’t be like bmw or Mercedes because they’re not as cable not as reliable as a Lexus and I do respect your opinion but in my opinion I like Lexus a lot better.
I know that The Lexus system is a little tricky but when someone buys a car they’re not gonna be like oh The Lexus system is so hard because when someone buys a car they keep it for a while and in that time they will get used to it.
After couple days riding and playing around touch pad I have no problem using them. Most of time it’s on apple car play so everything is set up before I drive. Google map, Spotify etc so I don’t really use too much touch pad when I’m driving. I have test drove cx5 rav4 q3 but to me Lexus quality and ride was so much better. I think it’s all up to your preferences when it come to car.
Cuz you are not a loyal Lexus fan, you buy car because it cheap. Their fans buy this cuz they love it . You buying the Santa fe cuz it cheap , not because you like it

Where would the new 2022 nx be manufactured?
Anyone buying this over the Mazda cx5 is crazy.
My nx 300 cabin is so loud. Hear the engine noise.
Question?
Does anyone know if the air conditioner has vents in the hatch area for pets?
Any Lexus suv.
Does anyone know the years for major redesigns?
Usually, designs last about 5-6 years I believe. Don't qoute me on that but lexus has a new NX redesign for 2022
when you say this and that were added as standard, that means the price was hiked accordingly too :)
Im a 36" waist and the seats pinch. Car is not big on performance. A lot of money for what you dont get
nothing changes dramatically from 2016 models..little bigger screen,,,thats all...

Really a RAV-4 is a better vehicle at this point. Get a hybrid RAV-4 and it is also quick. Infotainment and price make this not a go.
