    Ferrari 'stumbled in F1' they were created just for F1. Selling cars was done to fund their F1 entry..

      But recently they have been stumbling, they have way more budget than any other team, yet they haven’t won a drivers championship since 2007, and constructors since 2008

    • @RichardsRockin
      @RichardsRockin 4 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      @@whatsappdripcar3104 that is not entirely correct. While they do have one of the biggest budgets in the class, they're evenly matched by Mercedes and Red Bull Racing. Different sources will show you that the three spend around 400 million a year. It is true, though, that they haven't wond a world championship since the last decade and this creates a lot of pressure on the team but this happens to every team that stays in F1 for too long, like McLaren and Williams.

      Mr. Charizard Just and only due to a certain Lewis Hamilton and Adrian Newey (I would also drop Toto Wolff in there) which are living motorsport legends and Ferrari never managed to sign (specially Newey, he writes it in his book). But they’ll retire some day, while Ferrari will continue winning.... hopefully.

It will ALWAYS remain a dream for many young boys to own the Ferrari that many have on their wall. If anything, they'll become even more valuable as they will represent fully, what performance motoring once was.

    There will always be a market for super luxury sports cars , no matter that everybody has gone electric, the feel of having a big powerful engine and the noise it produces is enough to rich and enthusiast people to buy those cars. Also, the luxury of the Italian car brands and the beautiful designs are something that you may never have in an electric car with vegan interior, it's like saying that luxury restaurants and resorts may have troubles in future because of the Airbnb platforms but we all know they will stay.

  • @SDriving
    @SDriving 4 ปีที่แล้ว +35

    The thing with Ferrari is that they have "trained" their clients. To be given the opportunity to buy an exclusive car, like the 488 Pista, you must first have boughten an "average" Ferrari. Ferrari is good at keeping the demand higher than the cars that they will make, and good at selling "average" cars because the only way you can get an ultra exclusive Ferrari is by owning another Ferrari. Ferrari creates a demand for their average cars by creating an exclusive car.

At 15:15 it states its margins are 24% as opposed to the 5% in GM which is 5x the margins. Not only that, since Ferrari's on average are worth more than 10x+ an average GM's price, that 24% margin is much, much larger than it seems due to how Ferrari's pricing scale.
      LONG STORY SHORT: A 24% Margin on a 2 Million dollar car is about $450,000 in profit, while a 5% margin on a 35,000 dollar GM car is about $1750. Selling 1 Ferrari = Selling 270 GM Cars. Math sure is wonderful!

      @@EMFAudio The only sticky surfaces in my 2000 360 are glove box button and center console cig lighter cover, all of the high touch stuff is normal, which is great, I'm pretty sure a previous owner did a full button service on the car along the way, so my example is actually really good overall. I think I'm going to refinish my 2 sticky areas, but honestly neither have really been an issue or in my mind at all using the car, because all the high touch stuff is normal. My car has also been a total joy to own from a reliability, quality perspective, which after searching for 5+ years and choosing this one, it seems I did in fact pin down a good example (which is the trick with 360), most examples are a no-go for me, I passed on 20 or more cars I'd say.

That brand is so valuable that it is literally a synonym of “quality”, “good taste” and “beauty”. When Ferrari was king of the hill and no one could touch them sure, I get why the company is like that but today their cars get outperformed by mclaren and arent as flashy as a lambo. So the people who still buy ferraris are just holding onto the past when Ferrari was king or people who just buy it for the name.

      Outperformed is dependant on many things, such as the model. The MP4-12C beats the 458 Italia on track, but looking at the successors, the 488 GTB beats the 650S on track. And the 488 Pista completely smokes the 675LT on track.
      Ferrari also make the best engines, they’ve consecutively won a Best Engine of the Year award yearly since 2011. Their cars are engineered very well.
      And I agree with Ferrari being picky over who can buy their cars. Before I didn’t understand it at all. But now I do. There’s many car flippers around nowadays. That’s why even Ford had contracts of keeping the GT for a certain amount of time and I think Porsche did something similar. Plus brand reputation is very important. And Ferrari are just smart on a business scale, by creating demand for their base cars by making their exclusive cars exclusive to certain people because you need to have a certain amount of base versions you have the exclusive ones.

    • @LuisTrey
      @LuisTrey 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Project R Well the the 675 LT wasn’t a competitor to the 488 Pista. Take a McLaren 765 LT or even the 720S and it would demolish the Pista on track and on a straight. Even a Porsche GT2 RS beats a Pista easily. Ferrari aren’t competition to companies like Lamborghini, Porsche, or McLaren anymore. Why do you think they never revealed the lap time of the LaFerrari when they went against the McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder? They knew they got beat by the competition. They were just afraid to show it in order to keep the fake status they believe they possess.

The logo needs to be reserved to those that can afford it. A short term cash grab could turn Ferrari into just another mediocre Mercedes type of brand. I don't give a rats a$$ about their car business, I'm more into their racing department (mostly F1 and GT racing). I mean Enzo Ferrari had to sell cars in order to fund his main passion, RACING. Even refused to sell to Ford because they wouldn't let him have full control of the Scuderia. I'm sure that was a very good move, Ford would have killed Ferrari off.
