Thank you for spending this time with me. If you enjoyed it, please give me a thumbs up, I would truly appreciate it. 💜
"Pay attention to the things you do that makes your heart sing, because that's what you were meant to be doing" That's just what I needed to hear!!! 💖💖💖 Inspirational advice and Beautiful Artwork💖💖💖
Thank you very much! And thank you for letting me know that it resonated with you. - it makes me happy to hear 🥰
@@PaintedPaperStudio You're so welcome. I love those unexpected "lightbulb" moments!
I love the last one too…it is like an old world master painting. It looks so fantastic framed and hung in that setting. I just started watching your videos and I really enjoy your encouraging style to be free and see where it goes. This attitude is easier for an experienced creator because you have knowledge as to how to “correct” or manage those aspect you might not like. I recognize that it is an attitude worth cultivating.
Hi Nana! Thank you for your kind words, they mean so much to me. That was a really fun piece to create. Thanks for watching, and taking the time to reach out. 🥰
Another inspirational idea for a color pallet is to visit a home furnishing fabric store.
I used to work as a colorist for a home furnishing textile company when it was hand painted, now it's done on a computer.
Pros and cons to that.
Red - that's a genius idea for a video! Thank you, and keep your eyes open 👀 🥰
Everything here is lovely!!! Thanks so much. 💕
Thank you, Pat - I ppreciate you taking the time to watch and to comment. It means a lot to me. 🥰
You could also use rubber combs for textures.
I really enjoy watching your organic process
WOW! They are all so beautiful. I love the techniques used in each one.
Thank you very much, Julie! 🥰
These Art works turned out great! Loved the acrylic skin, so soft, ethereal, gentle on the eye with hidden depths. ❤
Thank you, Teresa! The skins have always held magic for me, but this is the first time I tried it wet on wet.Thank you so much for being here and letting me know your thoughts 😍
Fabulous!!! thank you !
Glad you liked it, Dawn! 🥰
✨💖✨ Love this!
Thank you - it was a fun one!
Love your videos! I didn’t want this one to end❤
Awww thank you, Donna - I really appreciate it 💜
so stunning
I appreciate you! 🥰
The acrylic skin you created is super interesting. I’m going to need watch your video on skins. Love the result of the first painting and all the depth. Thanks for sharing your techniques and process. 😍
Thank you very much, Trina - I am really looking forward to making the skins video - there are just so many ways to manipulate acrylic skins and mediums. I'm so glad you're here! 🥰
Love love love the clear skin!! I’ve done flow painting with acrylics & made skins but never knew they could be made transparent! Can’t wait to try this!
Yes - transparent and translucent skins are exciting to work with. 🥰 PS - this week's video will be on translucent mark-making (using skins too 😉)
Love, love, love 💗 I didn’t want the video to end. 💗
Each piece is so different in technique to finish, yet all are part of the whole flow of the creative journey. So beautiful 😍.
Thank you Jackie. Your process, energy and art is so inspiring. You are a natural and explain everything so well.
Can’t wait for your next creative journey.
Blessings and gratitude 🙏🏻 😍🤗🙏🏻
Andrea, this was a lovely note to read over my coffee this morning, thank you. I am so glad you are on this journey with me. Thank you 🥰
Oh my gosh I love them all. Such a wonderful video! 🙌🏻💥❤️
Thank you, Sheila! It was a fun couple of days in the studio, for sure. 😀
I have never seen a skin or how to make it ❤ I love it thank
you❤
You are very welcome. Be on the lookout - I'm going to film a detailed acrylic skin video soon 🥰
Simply delightful.. Love this and eager to give it a try.
I really hope you do - it’s fun to paint with all different types of materials 🥰
OMGeeeeee, I love all three!! I can't pick my favorite as it's a toss-up between #1 and the skin!! As I am very, very new here and didn't know that you did it but I LOVED that you showed your finished pieces framed at the end. BLEW me away! Thank you for sharing your beautiful art!
Hi Annette! I'm so happy you enjoyed seeing the works framed. They weren't actually framed, but I know that most art works convey a different meaning once "finished." Sometimes I even hold a mat up to my art journal to get the same effect - and I d see it differently. Thank you so much for your kind words, and for being here. 🥰
I so enjoyed this video, it’s so difficult to find videos on using house paints to craft with. I love your work 💕thank you for sharing!
Thank you very much , April 🥰
Beautiful results after spectacular commentary and instructions. Would it be possible to request a video of your "basics?" Like basic rolls of paper and why you choose them. Basic paints, mediums, brushes, etc. I'm really curious about your table. I'm going to move my dinning room table into my studio because it's pub style height. Perfect for standing work and a bigger surface than my desk. I've only worked small in the past mostly because of work surface size, but you've definitely inspired me to work larger. Im just not sure a square will be long enough.
The frames look so good on your wall. I can't wait to use this storage tip. I've already got pieces for the other ideas you shared just from my daughter moving out and leaving things behind. A tension rod and a clothes rack. Just need to get hangers and clips ordered once my other daughter moves out.
Sorry for the ramble 😁
Thank you, Kricket - and I love a good ramble 😂 I'm glad you will be able to reclaim your creative space soon. I have put your requests on my big "video ideas list, and hope to film something with them soon. Next, my table is huge 36" x 72" or 91 x 182 cm --- but the part that is exposed during filming is about half that (maybe even smaller). When I started, I worked on a small desk, too, and gradually found ways to work bigger. Where there is a will there is a way 🥰
Very informative, I'll definitely try the skin technique ❤
It's really fun! 🥰
I really like the etherial nature of your work…thanks!
Thank you, Nancy. I'm so happy you were able to watch 🥰
Loved watching this video Jackie, you have the style that i adore, you are very talented ❤
Debbie, you are very kind 🥰 I'm glad you enjoyed this one.
Love your videos! So well done. Thank you. Beautiful work ❤
Thank you, Mary. That means a lot to me. I'm so glad you're here. 💜
Wow Jackie! Those are so beautiful and impressive, I've not even sure what I watched!! You've developed your own unique style!! Beautiful!
Cat-Anne - I don't even know what I created 😂 But I had a blast doing it. Thank you so much for watching and letting me know what you thought.
@@PaintedPaperStudio Youve got a winner there! and framed, they are gorgeous!
I really enjoyed this video and the art you created is fantastic!
Thank you, Peggy! I appreciate you -thank you for being here. 🥰
Hi Jackie, I do this with Resene test pots and use the actual colour swatches for small craft jobs. Quick and clean.❤
Quick and clean is awesome, Debbie! 🥰
Wow, what a great idea. I want to challenge myself to mix these color in acrylic. And as I wrote that you mentioned your color formulas sheet. Thanks so much!
You're welcome Imelda, have fun with your mixing 🥰
I love how detailed your explanations are of what you are doing Jackie, it is so helpful. Thank you for all your hard work in creating these videos for us ❤
Thank you, Charlotte - I appreciate your kind words and recognition that it is hard work. But here's the thing...I learn so much more about what moves/motivates me during the editing process, that I feel like I should have started filming my process years ago, not 4 months ago. It's all good - I'm so glad you're here.
What a great video! Each painting is as beautiful as the next, but I think the last one with the Topaz and graphite (if I remember correctly) is my favorite. It sure is hard to decide, though.
That was my favorite too, Stepmom! And it was so fun to do it with house paints 😍
I have a small size of that gel. Thank you for your video ❤
I loved this video!! I enjoyed the process of each painting!! Thank you so much for sharing your work!!
Thank you so much for watching Catherine. This one felt a bit ambitious (3 paintings takes a lot to film). Having said that, it truly reflects how I work...multiple paintings at one time. I'm so glad you're here! 💜
I love your work and also the fact that you always smile,it says it all. Thankyou for your amazing demo's.❤👍👍👍
Thank you very much, Andrea. I genuinely love what I do (even when I make a mess), and I'm glad it shows. I hope you catch yourself smiling while you paint too 🥰
What a wonderful way to bring in the New Year! The town's fireworks were going off as you worked on the final stages of the paintings. Great fun. I have just cleaned out and reorganized my studio so i have room once again to work on larger projects. Can't wait to try some of the Benjamin Moore 2024 colors. Thank you for your excellent presentations and video making. Susan in North Carolina. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year, Susan! I'm away on a trip right now, but I hope to clean and reorganize my studio when I get home. There's nothing like starting a new year with all of your supplies and materials neatly organized 😍
@@PaintedPaperStudio Your rules for the studio are exactly on point! I will be spending New Year's Day in the studio. All the best to you. Susan
Thank you Jackie all so interesting. I love using household paints, but l chose to use emulsion, not heard of latex paints, here in Scotland, but l guess ive just not seen them. Seeing all those sample pots lined up on the shelf is too tempting. Thanks again for your tips and instruction are so useful...Alioban
Welcome back, Alioban! Thank you for taking the time to watch and to teach me something new 😀 I looked it up, and emulsion paint is the same as latex paint.
I will be sure to mention that in the next video. 🥰
Hi Jackie, thank you for responding to my comment. I look forward to your next video 😊
You're welcome@@alisonlyons4691
Very interesting video. My favorite is the last one you show in the video!!! It's AMAZING! Really curious about acrylic skins and can't wait for that video!
Thank you, Nathalie! That one you liked is the one that both my husband and son liked best. For me, choosing between that one and the skin would be like choosing your favorite child 😂😂😂
This is awesome. But I think you should know that paint samples don’t have binder. You can wash it off. My mom works at Home Depot and shared that with me. The binder is the expensive part. I believe that Sherman Williams is the only one that does put binder in their paints but much more expensive .
That is good to know! I'm ok with paintings #1 and #3 because they are encased in binders, but painting #2 is not protected. I'm ok with it for that piece, but I will share this information in next week's video so everyone knows. Thank you so much for letting us know, Lissette! 🥰
Can you add acrylic medium to form a binder? Gloss medium for example?
I found that out too, I thought I could save them for crafts, and discovered that they do wash off. Good for a wall test but that's it. They should come in a smaller container.
Wow! All three turned out so nicely!
Thanks so much, Rae Lynn! 🥰
I love the tape pull! It makes everything perfect ❤
I agree 100% Cindy. When I'm scrolling through Instagram, I stop on every single post that features a tape pull! That would be an excellent idea for a TH-cam channel - someone should do that 😂. Nice to see you here again! 🥰
I’m still watching the video but I already want to say I’m so glad you did this. I love using latex paints and am always interested in the color of the year.
Lisa - I'm a color of the year lunatic - I actually have the release date in my calendar every year 😂 (it's usually the second week of October if you want to pencil it in).
Really appreciated this one! I love painting with latex paint. That's a great color selection as well, though something crazy would likely sneak in while I work. I know my weaknesses! 😂
Love this, Terri - but your "weakness" might actually be your creative superpower 😘
Watching your process gave me a big insight on the difference between my working process and yours. What I noticed is this: When I am over a piece, I am constantly hoping, that the endresult will please me ("make my heart sing" - what a wonderful expression!). So I am really suffering a lot, when I seem to get "stuck". Having watched your process will bring me back to enjoy playing, to embrace the adventure not to know, where I will end up with my piece. So thanks a lot, Jackie. I loved every moment of your video. Sending you a big hug 🥰, Britta
Britta, thank you for your openness and honesty. If I had a specific mission with the channel, it would be to help eliminate creative suffering for all. When I find myself really stuck, I'll stop what I'm doing, put it away for a while, and then experiment with something else. When I make that shift, I'm very intentional about not creating art, but creating something through experimentation. I allow myself to fail or succeed with the same degree of passion when I experiment. It's usually just the mindset shift I need. You said it perfectly - "embrace the adventure." Big hugs back to you 🥰
I love the acrylc skin and can't wait for your videos on acrylic skin. If I were younger and handy with a sowing machine, I would sow myself a skirt from that.... haha
That is an amazing idea, Doc! You just gave me inspiration for something in the future! 🥰
Thanks so much for sharing!I specially liked the skin! (Looked it up, here in Holland its expensive the self leveling gel.....never heard of it, but so beautiful) For sure one day I am going to use it! Thanks again!!
Thank you, Ellen. This skin was so fascinating to make because of the instant depth that the self-leveling gel creates. However, you don't have to use that particular medium to create skins. I promise to do a video showing quite a few different materials you can use - many being much less expensive. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch, and let me know what you think.
@@PaintedPaperStudio Thanks for your answer, and I am looking forward to the video about creating skins!
Love this video and the paint skin is amazing. Can you tell what the name is of the tool you are spreading paint with on the white butcher paper? I believe I need one lol😊
I think you are enjoying the Princeton Catalyst Wedge (there's a link to it in the supply list below). It is so essential to my process that it has become an extension of my arm. 🥰
Hi, thanks for sharing your process and spending all this time with us!
Loved you storage solution video too btw!❤❤
Quick question: how is your cork board back white? I bought the one on your list and just realized in this video it’s white. Not the typical cork color. Is it just covered with white paper??
Thanks again!! Beautiful work
Hi Noelle! Thank you for watching and letting me know that you enjoy the videos - it means a lot to me. 🥰 My corkboard is white because I painted it 🙌🏼 Years ago when I was working, that corkboard was always behind me in video conferences, and it was so drab I hated it, so I painted a really bright pink. After seeing it on screen, I hated it, so I painted it white, and it's stayed that way ever since. I used regular house paint with a flat finish, but I bet you could also use gesso. Great question, Noelle!
Wow! I would’ve never thought of painting the cork board! That’s a great idea!! I’ll have to try it. Thanks again💝
You are very welcome @@noLi1116 🤗
Jackie, I believe you have a problem with signing up for email. I have tried several times and not received a confirmation and yes, I did check my junk and trash mailboxes.
Hi Tricia - I just checked and can see that you filled out the form, but both times, the confirmation email "bounced," meaning there was something wrong with the email address. If you'd like, try emailing me directly and I can enter you manually (I think). My email is jackie@paintedpaperstudio.com.
