I see a streetscape, it’s evening, misty and there are streetlights backlighting the trees! Your piece is magical, I LOVE all the layers and scratchy marks and light and shadow, the finishing touches just turned the lights on and I love it! This is my first time watching you create and I found it quite magical. As a newcomer to Art, I find it amazing to see where others are coming from to generate their creativity, so Thank you for sharing that. I also love the Matt finish of your acrylics. How do you get this effect and such lovely colours?
Thank you and so glad that you found me. My paints are from Home Depot (most of them) I by the tester pots in an ultra matte finish. I swatched all my favorite colors that I was using in regular artist acrylic paints and then took it to Home Depot for them to color match. It's very economical. Hope this helps. When I did traditional acrylic landscape painting we had to be careful of putting wet paint on wet paint because the paint would not adhere. In the video you seemed to not stop for drying time. Did you stop and let the layers dry at all? Very inspiring to watch you do this and I just love your channel and everything that you said and show so far. ❤ also just finished watching the video and see that you added pastel at the end. How are you “fixing” this painting? If varnish, what does it do to the pastel?
Initial layers I paint wet into wet. It's all acrylic so there is no issue of things not adhering. I dry and then put the collage on, also with acrylic matte medium. I'm using matte paints as much as possible. I seal with a spray varnish. Also acrylic and matte. Thanks for watching!

It's just a lovely piece and process. Really enjoyed watching. Do you use some kind of spray fixative, or varnish on your pieces?
I use Liquitex matte spray varnish, there is also sating and gloss depending on what you want.

Hi Shawn, Are the paints in the squirt bottles thinned out with any thing? Water, flotrole?? Are they liquid acrylics, or thinned tube paints. I really enjoyed the creation of this painting. Thank you!
My paints are house paints from Home Depot I swatch out all my favorite colors from name brand artist paint took it to Home Depot and had them do a paint match . I use a flat premium paint in the tester pot size then bring those home and fill my bottles
