Just what I needed, I'm surprised there's not much tutorials on animated materials, it's such a great way to make VFX's. Thank you a lot!

Thank you! I was surprised to find so few resources too. I'm currently working on a longer video on making simple vfx, there will be an effects library to accompany its release too.

Hey thanks, this video was super helpful and answered some specific questions that Adobe's documentation doesn't address. This has got to be one of the most challenging programs I have ever tried to use. As you said, tutorials are hard to come by, probably this is not Adobe's most widely-used product. But it seems like it has a lot of potential if you can manage to figure it out.

Hey, I just learned this technique today and decided to setup a demo as soon as I figured it out. If there are any tips or tricks that you know of to speed up the process, share them below!

Do you know if it's possible to animate a single indexed input from a float3? I'm trying animate just the tiling on the Y access, but the input parameter I have to pass to the value processor "Offset" is a float3 and the output of the value processor $time is a float. All I've been able to manage is passing the value of $time to all 3 components at once. I can't figure out how casting and passing variables works in Designer because the current documentation seems like it was written by someone who speaks English as a second language and it's kind of confusing.

Hi! You should be able to animate a single axis by passing the $time variable into a Vector Float2 node, and then into a Vector Float3 which will build up a new float 3 type with your desired inputs. I hope that helps!

Thanks, I ended up figuring it out last night ,but I couldn't figure out how to cast a float back into a float3 without swizzling the variables around. What sequence of nodes did you use?
