Repairing a Fuel Sending Unit Leak on 76 Honda GL1000

I noticed that, when I filled the gas tank, I had fuel dripping down onto the floor in the garage. Once I removed the seat, I could see gas oozing out around the fuel guage sending unit. I purchased a new gasket but then discovered that the fuel was probably seeping out through the electrical connector on the top of the unit as well as from around the gasket..
