Enkei wheels have absurd price considering they are not forged. They can sponsor/advertise all they want but if you not buying forged then APEX ARC-8 is lighter and cheaper and designed to clear BMW big brake kits. Edit: also TITAN-7 sells forged wheels more affordable than Enkei flow-formed.

I miss my n54 . Gonna get me one again next month . An do this mod . Don't know why everyone say it's unreliable . I drove it 280km per hour for a 1500 km road trip . Kept it at max speed for a third of that trip . Never had a issue . I always drove it hard
I'm glad y'all broke down at BMS Tuning, because if that had been me I would've been replacing the coils and plugs chasing my tail before I would've thought of the ECU injector drivers going bad. I've had them go bad in my Honda ECUs before and it drove me nuts!
These 335I are amazing performance cars which will also teach someone the basics on maintaining a car. The n54 is a good motor, very stout, and most examples now have had the teething issues sorted out. The N55 motor is fantastic.
I think a series/playlist of these types of builds could draw in some good views for you guys. 335i, STi, 350z/370z, Focus ST, BRZ, Mustang GT, GTI, etc. These are the popular used cars to mod and I think would get you guys popping up in more TH-cam searches.
Definitely diggin the build! Only thing I would do differently is I would go MHD instead of COBB for my tuning. Just a simple search on the topic and you'll get a laundry list of all the benefits of MHD vs COBB, other than that you guys have a solid build! I particularly love the headlights! Completely transforms the car to a more modern look!!! I need those on my 335i e90!
The post 2009 DME on the N54 was a MSD81 which has the upgraded MOSFET transistors. Only the old MSD80 that problem. The switch over was MY 2009. I have never heard of this problem on any N55 DME which are all post 2010. Since this can be Cobb tuned, this is the first version of the N55 DME. My 2011 135i N55/DCT with this DME was used by Cobb Austin for a lot of their stage 1 tuning development as I had the Helix stepped intercooler on it. No problem with the DME was ever encountered. Do wish you all had employed the Ohlin suspension offered by Cobb.

I enjoyed you guys' experiences. I also have the n54 335i similar mods. One time I "blacked out" from G pull accelerating so hard like the jet fighter pilots do during max thrust! Small mods and this becomes a monster! I also kept the stock DP/exhaust for the sleeper sound + smells. Also have the ST coilovers + new shock mounts + 18" rims. It's like a drug!
why do people even dislike these videos nothing bad even happened
DP & PT...making the jamberry! Loved this build from start to finish. Kudos on the learning sciences sponsor. DP highlighting the tie in of the 3D printing course to the build shows exactly how to make the S/A viewer relate to the sponsor...would love to see a similar pimp my ride build on the Audi A3
Now imagine that power with 400-600lbs less in a short wheel base......You guys need a 135i!!
From what I read, the 335i is only 150lbs heavier than the 135i but yeah the 1 series is more toss able on a track.
@@mathieulevasseur4082 I guess option dependant too. But your right they aren’t that far off. Mine is just under 3300 (scale dependant) but it’s base base
I was hinting at striping one down a bit. Ther is a few out there hovering around 2900-3000.
I found you videos on my feed today and had to watch both. I've owned my '09 335 N54 6MT in Black Sapphire Metallic for over seven years and it's my daily driver, I don't have a tune because I've heard too many regarding cooler plugs, bad coils and more. I recently ordered a set of VMR v703 (CSL style) in 18" to replace the Style 189's and debated getting 19" wheels but am glad that I went with 18's. The wheels are on backorder so I can expect them in March or April. The car has cost me an average of $80 a month to maintain including a set of PS4S' and I DIY just about everything up to this point.
I wonder what their yearly budget is on wheels I feel like every episode a car gets a new set of wheels
They are sponsored so.
$0
Enkei wheels have absurd price considering they are not forged. They can sponsor/advertise all they want but if you not buying forged then APEX ARC-8 is lighter and cheaper and designed to clear BMW big brake kits. Edit: also TITAN-7 sells forged wheels more affordable than Enkei flow-formed.
@@idokwatcher2062 no one said forged is compulsory.
@@traviswalker8933 It is when you're paying the same price. It will survive potholes that flow formed wheel cannot.
just got a new engine for my 328 after a coolant leak, they are correct you need to maintain these cars but if the pros and cons weigh out youll fall in love with bmws
Camber doesn’t cause tear, toe does
You guys picked the perfect car to upgrade... Its a future classic that has a timeless look to it. When i think of BMW in general, this is the car that pops to mind
The headlights and wheels look great!
As the title mentions, "cheap and easy", yet great results. Well done guys.
Is the mosfet the cousin of bobafett?
For the money and effort this one is a winner. As I said last time, I'd be happy to have this in the driveway. Especially for the $$ y'all have into it.
The only thing I'd change is the tint. I think it would look more refined with a lighter shade. In the drive video it looks good so maybe it was just the lighting in the shop.
You’re not cool unless you’re running 20” ride high with -8 camber! You’re also not cool unless you pee your pants
😋
I'm cool then!
Look everyone, Billy peed his pants!
@@ReignitedAuto of course I peed my pants, everyone my age pees their pants. It’s the coolest
When you guys got on the throttle that was amazing to watch.
Makes me want 1, but I dread when it breaks $$$$$$
Best tire mounter in the world, i need to take my wheels and tires to you guys! BMW looks slick
Nice work guys! Curious on a price breakdown on the parts?
More than you can afford, pal!
When you do anything more that a stage 1 Mhd tune you must, must must do the pret-tune engine out maintenence please see below.
Full engine out service:
• All the Gaskets
-Oil Pan Gasket
-Valve Cover Gasket
-Oil fiter housing Gasket
•Lines
•Seals
• Ignition Coils Delphi or Bosch
• Walnut blast to reduce carbon depsosits on Intake Valve

• Water Coolant pump
•Injectors Index 12 (need to be coded)

And if you want big power i.e. 700bhp from a budget hybrid turbo like a 17t or 19t then port injection is the way to go.
Well, I've never been this early before
I just got an 07 335i so your video series was perfect timing for me, I am still really up in the air about which wheels to go with and this didn't help because those look soo good. Nice vid guys
Sounds like this guy wants to sell his ECU fix even though the real issue was the coil packs. $100 fix vs $600 fix..
Yes our good buddy conned us into spending $40 dollars on the drivers and doing the labor for free. What a criminal!!
The mosfet is a VERY common failure especially 07 335i. I had to do it on my own car. Happened first pull after a bunch of big upgrades. Cust me $28 to fix.
No, John at BMS fixed our junk as a favor. He's not in the mosfet or coilpack business.
Yeah i am back ,just because you did the proper road test ! Nice about time Dude.
Imagine without cats. This thing would get like another 50ish hp and tq.
Great little series! They are awesome cars with some work and mindful preparation.
Who cares how 19" look... It is always about the drive. BTW, what a riot a non neglected BMW is. I can completely understand why von Kuenheim didn't wanted to export real M engines to the US.
I still had fun with my 2900# ‘95 m3 with 230whp.
Another great mini build series. Would like to see another one of these mini series documenting a nice profitable car flip.
The wheels and headlights made that car look so much better
Great size choice for the wheels. These quick mod video miniseries are rad 👍❤️
Y'all make it look so easy, I cant wait to one day own my own 335i.
Me too bud
Magnificent! I am *really* looking forward to the next one
I love watching people that don’t usually work on n54s working on them 😂 great job ,but , i hope you guys learned a hell of a lot more by now ,i have owned an n54 powered vehicle for the past 11 years and have also built some fast ones ,and i just love the platform,n54 for life baby !!!!
try Xhp transmission tune on that car makes a huge diff in shifting paddle gets rid of delay and makes it fun.
Nice work guys, that thing is quick, love the Wheels
Think about it, you upgrade the intakes, and get a proper MHD tune with a trans tune and inlet pipes. You’re making 400whp or very very close to it. N54 is the best bang for buck performance motors out there. Even in 2022 they are imagine motors. Good job 👍🏻
A wrap would take this car to a 10!!!! Looks good guys!!! Awesome choice on wheels
Thanks guys for a grate video I really enjoyed it . I wan to buy a 335i and now you guys showed me how much fun you can have with one . Thanks and keep up the good work
I kind of like the ride height as it sat before the springs settled.
One of my favorite episodes from this series.
I miss my n54 . Gonna get me one again next month . An do this mod . Don't know why everyone say it's unreliable . I drove it 280km per hour for a 1500 km road trip . Kept it at max speed for a third of that trip . Never had a issue . I always drove it hard
Hey guys. You did such a great job and I’m super envious! Ik I’m late but love your video and gonna check out some other car builds now!
Jb4 with a mhd backend is what the guys who know what’s up use😊
BMW builds are amazing . Love them . Keep them coming .
N54 power 💪. On mhd and e85 it'd be even better. Also, the car needs m3 or solid rear subframe bushings.
Never noticed your subscriber count until now. I guess the changes to the channel from last year are really paying off. Congratulations.
