That is a great little yacht, simple and practical with everything you need, decent engine room access as well, this would make a great first yacht for someone. Great tour as always Nick thank you.
Hahaha I also just wrote that. Great minds. Nick never misses a boat show and in some cases, he's at the pre-launch which is cooler in status, but has way less food.
It’s incredible how much boat you can get for your buck, so long as you can live with the compromises. A really lovely (relatively) affordable little Cruiser. Thanks, Nick.
I love the idea of this boat! My wife and I are going to be empty nesters soon. We want to cruise from a home port in Florida to the Bahamas and Caribbean. This Northman would be perfect, except I’d rather have a 2 cabin layout with more room in the heads with more storage. Also, having a house bank of lithium batteries and a solar Bimini would be an absolute dream come true. I know this boat isn’t really meant for that but I’m not seeing any manufacturer doing anything like this. Always enjoy your videos Nick! You are now my favorite boat review channel, in fact the only one I watch. I appreciate that you get on with it and don’t belabor the tour.
Great to see also affordable boats in the market and on the channel Nick, and the Northman 1200 comes across very well. I love the simplicity of the approach, plus three double cabins. Many thanks.
There is a lot of good planning here, and also nice that the usable speed range is enough for serious cruising. This would be perfect for the Baltic Sea (where I do my boating) and I could see myself buying a boat like this. Access to that flybridge is also perfect, here it is only usable in nice weather so makes sense to have it more or less out of the way. I´m quite taken with this one, need to find out more. Thanks, Nick for showing this.
I think the flybridge is a great addition, it gives loads or versatility and use of wasted space. The boat on a whole is a lovely compact ship! Lovely tour thanks Nick.
Affordable... Well, it depends on you consider things.. That's not a multi millions dollars yatch you're right, but still unaccessible to more than 99% people (if you think reasonably that price of your boat shouldn't exceed 10% of your total assets, this boat is only for people having more than 3M$...😌)
This boat is an incredible value...yes, I understand where all the shortcuts are taken...buy if you give this boat extra TLC, you're getting a hell of a lot of boat for the money
Not cheap, but also not cheap looking. That's a very complete boat for a very good price. You might not be able to go to Jersey in 20 minutes but if you want to take the family on a multi-week tour of the canals and rivers this has you covered. Really nice boat! Thanks for the tour!
That's good thinking putting the way up to the fly-bridge at the front keeping the rear space free. I did not see a generator, but there is plenty of room to put a small one in the space behind the engine.
Hi Nick , and thank you for this nice show of this Northman 1200 Flybridge a great family boat to sail the waterways sleeps 6 with 2 heads a nice change the sunroof in a fly bridge thanks again Nick a great show like always ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I'll tell you what Nick that is a really attractive cruiser...1 litre an hour...that's amazing. Nice berths, all very pleasing. I'd definitely want a flying bridge myself...that's where the fun is, whether on a sunny day or at night...I want to see the clouds or the stars..and it's a great place for a cheeky cocktail when at anchor. That boat has nothing to be ashamed of...for a 36ft cruiser she is an absolute beauty.
Not a fan of the fly-bridge myself but this is a lovely well designed little cruiser and the fly-bridge is one of the best I've seen! Superb tour 👌 Loved the lighting too, and masses of storage neatly planned design! Love it 😀
Nice cruiser. Being from Florida my non negotiables are generator, a/c, windlass. Thoes three options are mandatory for Bahamas cruising. So, the boat doesn't even get considered without them. That said, this is a nice size boat for cruising, and the layout seems manageable. A little to Ikea not enough "boat styling" for me, but nice. Thanks Nick for the tour. After reviewing the video, the dual heads isn't desirable with the toilet in the shower. Needs one proper head with shower. I guess this isn't a boat for me! lol
Great tour of a very good value for money boat. Perfect for inland waterways or light coastal work. Plenty of space, style and practicality for the money.
It is NOT a Princess.... But boy, could this make a first yacht for many! It is (as the first one with the sunbeds on top was) one of the few boats I could see myself buying from new. It is within reach in the not too distant future, and the lay-out is very good for a small family to be used for weekends and vacations. It is basic, I know - but it still has all you need to go proper boating. Their webside is a bit crude, and with my limited abilities in terms of searching I haven't found out which category this boat is, hopefully a B, but maybe just C? 450 miles range does give you the possibility to go many places and in a bit of style as well. Thank you Nick, you feed our "boat souls" even during the dark times of winter. (Actually You could buy 2,5 of these boats for the cost of one week on the Lurssen 73 metre yacht you showed us about 2 weeks ago.... just thinking)
That engine room was surprisingly spacious. I guess having a single vs. twin engine configuration makes all the difference. For a "potter" down a river or a light easy cruise along the coast, this one seems ideal from an economic perspective. The accommodation also seems comfortable enough as well. It's nice that you can buy a new legitimately 3-cabin boat for under 400k (pounds of course). That's got to be a rarity.
beautiful, economical, well built and well appointed with 3 cabins/2 heads for $300k! this is the best deal in boating I've seen in a long time. excellent tour as always, enjoy your weekend nick, cheers!
For a twelve eter boat , they have included a lot . I thought the three cabins maybe included a fold down bed in the salon , but three seperate cabins , two shower rooms plus everything else , very well thought out and planning.
Since i follow you, this one is the best value for money ! This is one which could be affordable (or almost!) for the majority of your followers but contains all check-list: 3 cabines, nice aft and a fly bridge ! Who Can Do better?
A no nonsense practical boat by the look of it, almost Spartan. It probably does the job but without the bells on. Personally I'd prefer darker wood doors etc. I wonder if they do that as an option? Thanks for the review Nick. For a second I thought we might have had a cooking demonstration. ( Whoops.) 😃
What a great boat for a 2+2 family, but the flybridge looks a bit... weird. I hope that grey plastic school classroom seat is a temporary fitting until the proper seat arrives?
Awesome tour Nick. What a lovely little 3 cabin yacht. Amazing price to get a family out on the water. Lots you can do with this one. You can economically cruise for days. Well done. Cheeers
Wow this one is nearly perfect, cozy vibe in the saloon, 3 cabin layout, expensive yes, but not out of this world expensive, and cost effective milage wise.
Honestly I would rather have seen a two cabin and nicer shower but apart from that this boat really is nice, oh yeah and joystick on the flybridge for docking... apart from that this boat is very good...
Big thumbs up from me 👍. I love your tours of these more affordable (but still not much less than my house!) boats - the dream seems a bit more achievable somehow.
The seat-looking piece at the aft end of the flybridge has hinges on it. I imagine that's either just for more space/access or there is something under it.
Fantastic first yacht, very well appointed based on sticker price, two bathrooms and kitchen make for smooth weekend getaways. The fuel consumption is incredibly low and the Yanmar will run forever. Topped off with a simple but functional flybridge would put this one on my shopping list Thank you Nick great tour as always
Love it! Perfect size for a couple, with an occasional visiting friend. Thanks for the tour! (Picking up trousers in the bedroom is always a dangerous proposition! 😃... but as Steinbeck so eloquently put it, "A man got to do, what he got to do!")
I'm not going to say this is an ideal starter boat for someone getting into the water life for the first time simply because anyone with any sense would try a brokerage boat first but anyone looking to buy a new boat (perhaps with a couple of seasons under their belt) they could do a lot worse than something like this. I wouldn't want to spend a whole summer on it but for weekends and the odd weeks school holiday it's ideal. As always Nick, I wait with bated breath for your next upload to arrive to alleviate the ever present boredom of being stuck in my bedroom. Apparently I'm doing well (I suffered a stroke) but it doesn't feel like it. Thanks as always.
This is a wonderful boat for a family that wants to do more then a day run and has everything you need to go out for a week, a month, or however long. You get more bang for the buck. 🙂
Hi Nick, A little while ago, i posted a message that because of you i've got inspired to get my boat license. Last week i passes the test for the ICC inland waters. Now i'm studying to pass the ICC inland and coastal waters. P.s. i like the video's;).
Great use of interior space on this boat. Only thing I don't love is the flybridge access; that ladder looks like it wouldn't be much fun in a seaway. A vertical (or near vertical) ladder from the cockpit would take up minimal space and offer much more protected access to the flybridge.
Great simple and practical boat! Room in the engine space for a generator. First I thought it said Nordhavn! I was already running to my bank for a cashier's check!!!
Was going to say that no separate shower, but not exactly the case here. Even though the day heads toilet is in the shower cubicle, the other toilet across the corridor is accessible from the corridor as well so can be used if the shower area is wet.
Absolutely love this boat , could go away for weeks on this 1mile a litre wow , now thats affordable boating , thank You Nick how did i miss this one 🛥🌊👍
A nice concept but that small owners cabin would never tempt me away from a full walk around island double berth aft cabin boat. Good walk through video.
Simple access to family boating…….. not glitzy or opulent but quality build and finish. Still a fair chunk of money, but cheap by comparison to most of the latest fare…… Plenty shove and lazy economy, although I’d want to see an auxiliary mount for an outboard - just in case. I like the enclosure for the engine, freeing up storage space…… 🙂 Nice one Nick 🙂
I was very curious how to get up to the flybridge at first. BTW, I think it's better to keep one head and one shower than to have two wet heads. It's really annoying to stand in a puddle of water.
I thought the same. If used by a family everybody will end up using one as the shower. Far better to have a separate bigger shower and dedicated head. Even drop the ensuite access from the master if it improves space usage.
When you look at it as 4 separate positions, I'd probably think i.e. about 1 head+ lavatory and 2 showers. Or 2 heads with tiny lavatories just to wash your hands, shower and ordinary lavatory space.
I totally agree. I never understood this need to have en-suite heads for every cabin, but crappy, cramped ones. Wet heads are a pain. 1 big bathroom for 2-3 cabins is plenty enough
Wonderful boat. I do love how practical it's laid out. I just have a really good feeling about this and the coup version of this boat. I would like to see different engine options if a customer would dish out more money. Like putting a 600 horsepower outdrive engine or two on the back...if weight allowed it...actually, that Northern Ireland Redbay 1450, that you are Marian took to thw Skellieg Islands in Ireland, with John Brennan...even though the triple 370 horsepower engines seem to be standard according to the redback website. I'm guessing their might be room for negotiation since everything else inside the hull is fully customizable, besides the fuel capacity. Putting twin 600 horsepower outlive engines on that RedBay 1450, seems like a great use of space, if the weight limitations allowed for it, as well as the structural stability of the vessel with that much weight at the very back of the boat. 370 horsepower X 3 engines = 1,110 horsepower. 600 horsepower X 2 engines = 1,200 horsepower, but with counter rotating propellor blades on each outdrive. Anyway, great video as usual Nick and presumably edited by Marian. Well done you two absolute legends.
It's no Gulf Craft Majesty 175 but for the price and the simplicity as in layout and usage of the boat I like this a lot, I could see myself taking off for the weekend finding a nice bay anchoring up, flipping the back rest on the aft seat so your facing out and fish away lovely. Mr Burnham sir I did suggest this back along but nothing was said but I'm sure the fans of Aquaholics would like this as well, I would love to see an episode where you review all the boats that you have shown thus far and choose your favourite or that the one that you would have personally, perhaps divide the boats up in groups of length i.e. 40ft to 50ft , 50ft to 60ft and so on. So the episode could go along something like this "so from the 40ft to 50ft range I have shown you the Sunseeker F40 the so and so and so etc etc,now for me I like/would have.........."you could even have your top 3 in each group. It might be to much for one episode so perhaps 1 episode per group or two. Nick this is just a suggestion for times of need for times like lockdown or for whatever reason you can't get around to see new boats but I think they would make good episodes anyway ,I for one am interested in these things and I'm sure many here are also. Anyway Mr Burnham sir another grand tour ❤️ Aquaholics as ever 👌🖖
Thanks Nick a great show round on an interesting boat. Did they have a generator fitted? Take it that at nine knots cruising it was a displacement hull. I suppose at that low cruising speed she might appeal to Sailboaters switching to power in later life. Only downside is only one engine for quite a big boat. Agreed bow and stern thrusters sort help solve the manoeuvring problems ( if they are powerful?) but no reserve offshore if main engine fails! Is she a class B boat please? Always good to know. Thanks again for a great video. When is your next meet the owner video?
I feel like all those doors in the lower deck could be an issue...I might like to see pocket doors for some of them. Also in the engine room, the eggshell foam probably doesn't do anything for isolation, it just limits reverberation (and probably high frequency reverb only). Other than that, seems like a pretty nice boat! Thanks for another nice yacht review :-)
Lovely. When are many boat makers going to utilize solar power with electric engines, it’s a natural mating. Forget speed, the boats that are built for comfort don’t need fossil speed. 4-10 knots is fine. Full solar panels on a long roofline, sunbathing bow, shaded stern lounge, open side windows and doors (with mosquito screens), it’s obviously the future option. Wind sailing, fossil motoring, sun power …3 ways to go.
She's a beautiful boat. I'd love to see an on-the-water video of a displacement cruiser going along at higher speeds to feel what that's like. I imagine it wouldn't elicit a patented Nick 30+ knot "Yahoo!", but maybe a sotto voce "Weeeee!" perhaps?
Hey Nick I really like the flybridge ladder in that position and it does keep the cockpit clear but one thing that I didn't like is that the owners cabins ensuite is also the day heads but unless I win the lottery I can only dream of my preferences so have a great day bud 👍
Excellent! Very good 👍 I'm imagining a single pensioners lifestyle. With room for trouble 😁... really great vessel, bread and butter is tops in my book.
Nice boat...I didn't like the area where the glass door would close on to, it looked to be sticking out and if knocked into could hurt (5:36) you see it center screen. I liked the original better lol. The fly bridge looks like a fishing boat, they didn't pad the seat less than basic. Lol bud, it was a bit funny you kept bumping into their personal items, the trousers was a gas (no pun). I'm glad you're keeping to putting things back the way they were lol. Good habits are bliss. Cheers Mate...🍻🇺🇸🫡
I liked this one. Practical with very little dead space. But that burnerhob with touchcontrol looks like a real firehazard. I don't understand why producers nowadays can't stick to mechanical solutions that lasts for ages. There is nothing hip and modern about it when your yacht catches fire.
That seems like a lot of boat for the money! Questions/thoughts: Is it a displacement hull, or is the low top speed simply a function of horsepower? It's too slow for my taste, but of course slow speed begets long range. It's interesting to see a powerboat with the engine enclosed almost sailboat-style, albeit with storage around it rather than cabin space. But I see the same company also builds sailboats. I dislike the cabin door blocking access to the port side deck, especially since that's where the stairs to the flybridge are. And clearly one should decide well before rough conditions are encountered which helm one is going to use! That said, putting the stairs forward is certainly a cockpit space-saver. This flybridge version isn't even on their website yet, but the non-flybridge version specs show either twin inboards or twin outboards. Perhaps their website lags the decision to go with a single engine.
Lovely, and such a good price. Just wondered where the generator was hiding and if it is an option to have a slightly more powerful engine? And was it just a locker on the flybridge, or was it hiding a fridge or something?
That is a great little yacht, simple and practical with everything you need, decent engine room access as well, this would make a great first yacht for someone. Great tour as always Nick thank you.
My pleasure! 🙂
"I used to work boat shows, glad I don't have to do that any more". Now you work ALL the boat shows.
True, but now I come and go as I please, I'm not rooted to a single boat from the moment the show opens right through to the better end! 😃
😁👍 use to 😆❤️
Hahaha I also just wrote that. Great minds. Nick never misses a boat show and in some cases, he's at the pre-launch which is cooler in status, but has way less food.

Hi Nick. Affordable, economical, 3 cabins and a flybridge. Awesome walkthrough Thanks 😊
You're very kind 🙂
Affordable? It costs more than a house! Jim Davidson would love this, but unless you earn as much as him you'll be out of luck!
Affordable... Well, it depends on you consider things..
That's not a multi millions dollars yatch you're right, but still unaccessible to more than 99% people (if you think reasonably that price of your boat shouldn't exceed 10% of your total assets, this boat is only for people having more than 3M$...😌)

Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
That’s a superb piece of design. Clear and clever thinking, especially the ladder.
Absolutely brilliant use of space. 3 cabins and 2 heads in a 12 meter? Great engineering.
That’s a really nice bit of kit. Well laid out and the addition of the fly bridge is an excellent feature
I like it. I would be interested if they only had outside passage on one side and could expand the salon width a bit.
I agree although I have always wondered how easy it is to clean the side of those types of yachts.
What a remarkably practical little vessel, and f/b too... excellent

I like the flybridge. But the stairs up are a bit sketchy. I can see an unplanned wake sending someone overboard.
Perfect for a weekend party. Thank you Nick.
this is my favourite market-segment. Lots of competition & innovation. Thank you 👊🏾

Horses for courses, as the old saying goes. This boat clearly isn't aimed at the Florida market. This is a Polish boat built for the European market.
Great tour of a very good value for money boat. Perfect for inland waterways or light coastal work. Plenty of space, style and practicality for the money.

Really nice little boat. Love the interior and all the light coming in. I'd love something in that size to cruise around.
What I like most of all, is the Heineken in the fridge, looks like they know a good beer over there!
The seat-looking piece at the aft end of the flybridge has hinges on it. I imagine that's either just for more space/access or there is something under it.
I really like this. Practical and stylish. Everything you need. Fabulous. Thank you Nick.

tidy boat! I do like it when you do the smaller ones. makes me feel like I could afford one someday.

You're very kind 🙂
Long day and week at work. “The full Tour” with a frosty glass is a brilliant way to end the day. God bless Nick Marianne and jack the sack!

The blue IKEA bag in the engine room was rather symbolic. A great and sensible boat!
Love it! Perfect size for a couple, with an occasional visiting friend. Thanks for the tour!
(Picking up trousers in the bedroom is always a dangerous proposition! 😃... but as Steinbeck so eloquently put it, "A man got to do, what he got to do!")
What a fantastic entry level boat. Great layout and we'll thought out, thanks for the tour.

I'm happy to see a boat that doesn't just push speed and a planing hull.
I'm not going to say this is an ideal starter boat for someone getting into the water life for the first time simply because anyone with any sense would try a brokerage boat first but anyone looking to buy a new boat (perhaps with a couple of seasons under their belt) they could do a lot worse than something like this. What a great affordable boat - totally uncomplicated - less to go wrong! And you can have an electric (fuel cell) propulsion version!
Lovely boat and another good video nick ⛵️🚤🛥⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you 🙂
Great simple and practical boat! Room in the engine space for a generator. First I thought it said Nordhavn! I was already running to my bank for a cashier's check!!!
Very reasonable and well appointed . The only thing is I could without the sharp 90 degree edges
The steps to the fly bridge, very clever.
Love the bow seating
Thanks for the viewing. I see some things I don't like...which keeps costs down but everything needed is there.
Thanks for the watching! 🙂
Was going to say that no separate shower, but not exactly the case here. Even though the day heads toilet is in the shower cubicle, the other toilet across the corridor is accessible from the corridor as well so can be used if the shower area is wet.
Hello Again. Hello 'Nick', a very nice boat with great layout. Wishing you the very best for 2023. Regards. RichardA.
Happy New Year to you too, 'Richard'
Great tour Nick! You make these tour so informative and entertaining!
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
My family would love this. We could cruise from the east Bay Area to San Francisco and the continue on to Monterey.
Brilliant "no bull" boat with 3 crew cabins 😂. Seriously a very practical boat with great value for money. That flybridge is a great asset 😀Thanks
Loved this one makes it feel possible to own a new boat! (one day ...)
Seems like a lot of boat for the money. Another great tour thanks Nick!
You're welcome!
Simple access to family boating…….. not glitzy or opulent but quality build and finish. Still a fair chunk of money, but cheap by comparison to most of the latest fare……
Plenty shove and lazy economy, although I’d want to see an auxiliary mount for an outboard - just in case. I like the enclosure for the engine, freeing up storage space…… 🙂
Nice one Nick 🙂
I was very curious how to get up to the flybridge at first.
BTW, I think it's better to keep one head and one shower than to have two wet heads. It's really annoying to stand in a puddle of water.
I thought the same. If used by a family everybody will end up using one as the shower. Far better to have a separate bigger shower and dedicated head. Even drop the ensuite access from the master if it improves space usage.
? Neither one is a wet head. There are separate showers. After a closer inspection, the toilets are in the shower.
@Michael Powell at 4.38 in the video you cam see the head is in the shower cubicle
Great tour Mr Burnham as always, I never understood why they put a toilet in the shower instead of the sink.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Very simple but great for a "budget boat" - Thanks Nick
You're welcome!
Great boat Nick, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Maybe! 😄
A nice handy little boat!👍☘️
Hey Nick I really like the flybridge ladder in that position and it does keep the cockpit clear but one thing that I didn't like is that the owners cabins ensuite is also the day heads but unless I win the lottery I can only dream of my preferences so have a great day bud 👍
I think the other toilet can be a day heads as well/instead.
Excellent! Very good 👍 I'm imagining a single pensioners lifestyle. With room for trouble 😁... really great vessel, bread and butter is tops in my book.
i love it. great for couple or family. and price is just excellent
That’s a lot of boat for the money. Thanks Nick
You're welcome!
Simple yet very practical.
That seems like a lot of boat for the money! Questions/thoughts:
Is it a displacement hull, or is the low top speed simply a function of horsepower?
I am really curious what boat do you own?
@@revoltoff Currently none. Why do you ask? What boat do you own?
Hello Nick, Nice Boat 😊. Are the two other skylight about the showes below?
Lovely, and such a good price. Just wondered where the generator was hiding and if it is an option to have a slightly more powerful engine? And was it just a locker on the flybridge, or was it hiding a fridge or something?
Awesome yacht, awesome tour as always!
Thank you very much!
