For those that like history,Italia is new invented name.Younger than USA.Culture is different and language to in the south and North.Origins of the people too.Today Italy is under great pressure from rich industrialist and politician to adopt millions of cheap workers as former Rome did in-ancient times.Industry is transferred to China and millions of people are mowing to London. This guy was lucky that his mother was clever woman and organised all for him.
Yeah, it's funny how the piece is about Italy moving forward, but still uses the same tired stereotypes. There's some great modern Italian music that could serve just as well.
This is what life is all about. Expanding and inspiring. The best time to venture and take greater risk is in younger years. You make lots of mistakes but you can rectify it. Doing nothing and settled for the life you don’t want is another risk one has taken and regret forever.
I come from the same city as the guy who makes cheese, Grosseto in Tuscany. I am an engineer and was in London and now in Basel. They want to depict this romantic idea of the young guy leaving the big city for a more bucolic life, but the reality it's way different. If you don't come from an already rich family there is no chance to do what he did. This is not a critic towards him of course, it's just how things are.
Few small businesses in some niche semi-luxury markets in which "made in Italy" matters, such as custom designed shoes or organic cheese and so on, might or might not succeed, but that will never change the gigantic tectonics of globalized economy. like it or not, it can not.
Globalization also means huge markets, like China or India, which have millions of rich people who love luxury products made in Italy, this is why Italian exports enjoy excellent health.
You miss the point. Te whole economy is crumbling and these few small businesses, even if they would succed, can't change the fact the italian economy is not good at all nor the expectations of growth nor some serious and very difficult to fix problems like the old and fast-aging population. Actually is a problem in pretty much all the world western world, but in some countries like Italy this probelm is much bigger.
actually i’m from *CENTER* (yes it exist) Italy and i want to explain things a little bit to foreigners... italy is actually divided in three not in two as a common belief: - *the north:* rich and industrialized part, clean where people are acculturated and they respect rules (northern italians share similarities with france or northern europe actually, in fact there is also a colder weather and the italian alps in border with austria and france and switzerland, the mentality is very similar and the richness in general) and the most two iconic cities are Milan (the most industrialized and rich city in Italy) and Venice, Turin, Genoa, Bologna - *the center:* not too different from the north in terms of richness and development and culture, but less industrialized and less organized and the people are more welcoming and warm and chatty, iconic cities like Rome (capital) and Florence are in the center, but also Sardinia. Us from the center are very neutral about this diaspora between north and south and i think we are the true italians here... also because we didn’t have many invasions by foreign civilizations during history because the center italy has always been under the Papal State (Vatican) for a lot, and still is, so it remained latin (roman, as romans were originated by latins and spoke latin) - *the south:* the most poor and undeveloped part, where mafia rules the most (and also where mafia is born) and that’s why many southern italians emigrate. You don’t see many emigration coming from center/north italians, and i explained why, and i have to add that it’s also the part where the ugliest dialects come from basically people are not well instructed in my opinion so they don’t put the effort to talk in standard italian and they prefer to use their dialects (the ones popular in mafia families for americans basically SUPERMARIO LOL) but again their dialects are ugly honestly... italian is a romance language, melodic and sweet is the language of music, opera...so it really sucks that there is (especially in USA) this stereotype that italians talk like supermario or like mafia bosses. This is true for the southern italians as i explained, in the center/north people talk standard italian and less dialects with a proper accent. If you hear standard italian is completely different from the dialects spoken in south of italy especially, and southern italians in general even when they talk standard italian they have (sorry) really bad accents😂But also i think the south is the most gorgeous and iconic part of Italy (Amalfi coast, Capri, Naples, Sicily, Positano, ecc) Us from the center as i said want truly a united Italy, but Italy is veeeery divided not only from north to center to south but also from region to region! The fact is that Italy unified very late on the contrary of other european countries, in 1861, and before it was divided in different regions who talked different dialects and had different cultures basically... a BIG MESS! Italy is my home, a gorgeous country full of history and culture and art, marvelous places, food and warm people.. so we have to unite from north to south! 🇮🇹🕊
I'm staying here in Rome for almost 13 years now.the Italian people's are very nice have a very very big heart. "Embracing the tradition...." That's the storytelling you pretend to impose about Italy, that's the point, I believe. Never, I mean never talking about how many good researchers, scientists, (In A.I, for example or in the aerospace industry) or astronauts we have ( the Sicilian Luca Parmitano is the actual international space station's commander) No.......just Mozzarella, Shoes and Opera. Well my friends, like it or not, the word "Science" comes from the Latin "Scientia" which doesn't mean simply "knowledge" it means literally "Science". Get over it.
As they say you cannot have everything at once. You have Tuscany with a spectacular scenery and good weather (relatively), but you have to deal with the government you have and all of its bureaucracy. That basically is like throwing broken glass on the sidewalk as you walk barefoot. It's a slow and painful walk, but at least you're not in awful weather UK. Hope they're all very successful. And, btw, I see Hamish dating Guido.
I don't understand one thing ,if this Italian countryside has no pastures to graze their cattle on ,how can cheeses of good quslity be made there,I am just curious. I haven't seen any lash pastures in this video.
So, let me get this straight, in the end, the dude that already had A LOT of money (Guido) is the one who actually has a chance of doing something profitable. The other two "entrepreneurs" are just doing what they like and breaking even. Very misguiding title.
Ismael Anibal Maillo Melchor : Not everything needs to be judged purely on the fiscal paradigm; there is a broader perspective. The organic farming brothers are living a healthy hard working life. Who knows, the lawyer could have ended up defending all kinds of crooks enabling them to 'get away with it'; when in fact there is no getting away with anything - this is the law of life ! The young woman making quality shoes is using her innate talents to give pleasure to others. All are creating value in some unique way that cannot be easily be quantified via the short sighted lens of viewing work, or creation, based on monetary gain. Each are winning in their own way. Are you ? Tu sei ?
it sounds like free advertisement for rich kid farmer..you have money you can play around for new cheese and have workers so is not so hard work...this young guys with goats is different story reality, dont have behind rich farming family , so they work really really hard cant afford workers and hardly making break even...i want to see how long is going to take until decide they have only one life and perhaps is not for them!!
I appreciate the attempt of this journalist, but I'm also sick and tired of hearing this average rhetoric. Even after 20 years of hardships, Italy is the second manufacturing powerhouse of Europe in industrial production and manufacturing and it is the 8th most powerful economy in the world (as per GDP- World Bank data). The country managed to create arguably the world's most recognizable brand (MADE IN ITALY) in just 40 years after losing a World War, becoming a hegemony in supercars, luxury clothing, shoes, fine wine and food, nano technology, Design, and more. The nation has almost 80% of its richness in physical (real/tangible) assets and has the lowest private debt of the entire Eurozone. All of this coupled with being the country with 75% of the Unesco World heritage....and ALL I hear is mandoline and complain about bureaucracy and public debt. YES, there are MANY problems to take care of, but please stop representing this country as if it were the weakest of all. With all the due respect it's appauling and disturbing to say the least. Insteas..... to the young entrepreneurs of this video (and all others who gave themselves a real chance) I wish all my best and I personally have no doubt you will succeed
Blond old lady on the bench is not an Italian... Italian ladies don't sit on benches to talk on the mobile phone, those are East European immigrants so the cameraman focused on it not knowing
Unfortunately social security payments are crippling and many young people are dubious about paying out all that money to (perhaps) get retirement benefits in 30 or 40 years.
This is actually nothing new for our country! Many good products Italy makes, were created by visionary enterprenours. Just think how Ferrari and Lamborghini were created! Love this country 🇮🇹
Producing food in any country in an efficient and environmentally fashion should be celebrated... farmers and the like are the backbone of the world....everyone should wish them every success... right...sensible shot out if the way...his sister was fit as......🤣.. sorry was that a bit cheesy??

For those that like history,Italia is new invented name.Younger than USA.Culture is different and language to in the south and North.Origins of the people too.Today Italy is under great pressure from rich industrialist and politician to adopt millions of cheap workers as former Rome did in-ancient times.Industry is transferred to China and millions of people are mowing to London. This guy was lucky that his mother was clever woman and organised all for him.
I love ❤❤❤Italy from Philippines..
I picked up the farm from my father...
Some of us are trying to build something from nothing
Let the building of something for your kids drive you. Don’t hate on anyone else
Italia 🇮🇹 wishing you all the best .

That plate of cheese and cured ham looked fabulous. Bravo ....
The shoe designer lady...amazing!
i've never heard any mandolins in italy. ever.
I know, me neither.....the only mandolin player I ever met was JAPANESE
@@teseofabbri1812 it is played in the traditional and classic Italian music...only a few people know how to play it
Yeah, it's funny how the piece is about Italy moving forward, but still uses the same tired stereotypes. There's some great modern Italian music that could serve just as well.
Admirable!!! Inspirador!!! Reafirmando mi decisión!! 🇲🇽 💋 🇮🇹 Vamos jóvenes emprendedores!!
This is what life is all about. Expanding and inspiring. The best time to venture and take greater risk is in younger years. You make lots of mistakes but you can rectify it. Doing nothing and settled for the life you don’t want is another risk one has taken and regret forever.
Italy always been on my dream bucket list!!!
I love people who takes pride in what they are doing.
Bellísimo! I would love to live there and have a farm.
Well done back to your roots, producing artisans the whole word envys
AWESOME!! keep the dream alive
"Luck helps you when you earned it"....love it.
it's common in italian but it's latin "fortis fortuna adiuvat", fortune favours the braves.
@ 25:05: "... we are a bit crazy but we are not afraid... "
Best of good fortune
At minute 0:30 don't put Neapolitan music to represent Rome, or other cities. We are not all Neapolitans in Italy. Just saying.
18 year old American here. I'm thinking of saving enough money and starting a business like this in Italy. The potential is massive.
The spirit of innovation of the Italians has not died. It has multiplied and takes on a new life. New projects and triumphs.
This continuous useless, fatalistic, italiot complaint, always complaining without any desire to react, how sad!
Io lavoro nel privato e non sono l'ennesimo lagnoso piagnone che passa il tempo a frignare a casa con mammà. Va a dà via el cul.
Absolutely brilliant documentary
From banker to perfect beard
The story not just applies to Italy almost everywhere ppl are finding alternative ways to survive despite huge unemployment
I lived 5 years in Italy and I love it and soon as possible will move back (not for money tough, only for frends and food) Greetings from Finland.
Where?
actually i’m from *CENTER* (yes it exist) Italy and i want to explain things a little bit to foreigners... italy is actually divided in three not in two as a common belief:
- *the north:* rich and industrialized part, clean where people are acculturated and they respect rules (northern italians share similarities with france or northern europe actually, in fact there is also a colder weather and the italian alps in border with austria and france and switzerland, the mentality is very similar and the richness in general) and the most two iconic cities are Milan (the most industrialized and rich city in Italy) and Venice, Turin, Genoa, Bologna
- *the center:* not too different from the north in terms of richness and development and culture, but less industrialized and less organized and the people are more welcoming and warm and chatty, iconic cities like Rome (capital) and Florence are in the center, but also Sardinia. Us from the center are very neutral about this diaspora between north and south and i think we are the true italians here... also because we didn’t have many invasions by foreign civilizations during history because the center italy has always been under the Papal State (Vatican) for a lot, and still is, so it remained latin (roman, as romans were originated by latins and spoke latin)
- *the south:* the most poor and undeveloped part, where mafia rules the most (and also where mafia is born) and that’s why many southern italians emigrate. If you hear standard italian is completely different from the dialects spoken in south of italy especially, and southern italians in general even when they talk standard italian they have (sorry) really bad accents😂But also i think the south is the most gorgeous and iconic part of Italy (Amalfi coast, Capri, Naples, Sicily, Positano, ecc)
Us from the center as i said want truly a united Italy, but Italy is veeeery divided not only from north to center to south but also from region to region!
Seeing this video makes me more amazed with these yourger generation truly this country is great and have lots of opportunities. Hope that others Italian people's will be open minded especially for changing and adopting new technology for their businesses.Good luck and i love Italy 😘
The people of Italy are very good I love them all❤ (From Dhaka 🇧🇩)
Thank you :)
I love Italy. Love lots from the Philippines....
SMOKE CHEESE! i think that is the next big step and big thing for Guido! something to ponder outside the Italian Market!
Passionate, Love, Dedication and hardwork is the Key to your SUCCESS!
Nice way to go Italy.
I loved this story. Best of luck to all those creative young people. Bravo!
Back from Australia after 25 years how can I help? Forza Ragazzi e Ragazze, Signore e Signori let's make Italy Great ! I can help with the export for the Australian market.
Cheers to these brave younglings!!! I had similar desires in my 20's but was so afraid of failure I didn't try and now at 61 feel a complete failure.
You can do that even now. So many older people are also making history. You can accomplish your goals.
Italian men are beautiful
Yes very much, 2 farmers there alone, much sex with they...
@@ErickZamicchello you and me both
Yes i agree italian guys are handsome no doubt. .
Got to respect the Italians. They have such a rich past and have often reinvented themselves. Never underestimate them.
"Embracing the tradition...."
That's the storytelling you pretend to impose about Italy, that's the point, I believe.
Never, I mean never talking about how many good researchers, scientists, (In A.I, for example or in the aerospace industry) or astronauts we have ( the Sicilian Luca Parmitano is the actual international space station's commander)
No.......just Mozzarella, Shoes and Opera.
Well my friends, like it or not, the word "Science" comes from the Latin "Scientia" which doesn't mean simply "knowledge" it means literally "Science". Get over it.
It's to do with the politics of rapresentatiom and hidden agendas
amazing , they are all so attractive people , europe has the best looking and most inventive population of this whole world
As they say you cannot have everything at once.
Good for this young people. Working for other people is tough and also without stability.
I don't understand one thing ,if this Italian countryside has no pastures to graze their cattle on ,how can cheeses of good quslity be made there,I am just curious. I haven't seen any lash pastures in this video.
Look up the farm in google maps, it's in the middle of agricoltural land.
Also the fodder is brought to the cows they don't live just with grazing.
@@Maurazio probably they decided to make cheese to get more money.....
So, let me get this straight, in the end, the dude that already had A LOT of money (Guido) is the one who actually has a chance of doing something profitable. The other two "entrepreneurs" are just doing what they like and breaking even. Very misguiding title.
Exactly. Just rich boring people.
Insteas..... to the young entrepreneurs of this video (and all others who gave themselves a real chance) I wish all my best and I personally have no doubt you will succeed
finally something true
Quanno ce vo, ce vo 😎
Delightful and good luck to all.
Blond old lady on the bench is not an Italian... Italian ladies don't sit on benches to talk on the mobile phone, those are East European immigrants so the cameraman focused on it not knowing
You're sick
Just bought a property in Tuscany. Living my city life in the Philippines.
Truly Inspirational
Unfortunately social security payments are crippling and many young people are dubious about paying out all that money to (perhaps) get retirement benefits in 30 or 40 years.
Italian is so amusing to ears.
This is actually nothing new for our country! Many good products Italy makes, were created by visionary enterprenours. Just think how Ferrari and Lamborghini were created!
Love this country 🇮🇹
"Guido isn't the only one to spot the opportunity " cat appears 😀
This is one of the reasons the Italians are ITALIAN!
Love this country so much
So much beauty in this video! Thank you
Producing food in any country in an efficient and environmentally fashion should be celebrated... farmers and the like are the backbone of the world....everyone should wish them every success... right...sensible shot out if the way...his sister was fit as......🤣.. sorry was that a bit cheesy??
5:10 “Now you’re about to meet a bloke in a turban”
🤨😂
Reading between the lines here, so some Italians that have asset rich parents (i.e. farmers) decided to take up the family business. It's definitely a game changing revolution! Bravo!
Best of luck to you and your country, 'cause you're gonna need it.
Leaving London for Tuscany is a no brainer
@Lord Rupert LOL....
Uncle Betty seriously .. your prince's love Tuscany and owes properties..I can see you don't know what life is..
Uncle Betty so then it wasn't for you ...next time be in Milan or Rome ,or Venice or maybe Palermo if loudness is what you prefer.you can't tell me the whole of England is like London..
@Uncle Betty they (you) have no clue of how appreciate life quality, they know nothing more than money & cloudy skies! Helpless !
Beautiful documentary thank you guys, the chance to lived in Great Britain for sure gave the plus to Guido
