Hi Nicola. I saw a video tour of the Statue of Liberty you did and I’m wondering which park is the closest to the statue without having to actually go to liberty island? I’m traveling with mom for 3 nights and I want to go see the Statue on my birthday but I don’t want to spent an entire day between Liberty and Ellis island
Hi Izzie, the best view is from Battery Park, although the Island looks a little remote from there. You will hardly spend an entire day on Liberty and Ellis Island though, as the boats leave every 25 minutes. You can step down the ferry, take a quick look and board it again and not stop at Ellis. Or as an alternative you can board the Staten Island Ferry, which passes close to the statue and back and forth you can do it in less than an hour. If you still want to see her from a park, again Battery Park remains the bet option.
@@NicolainNewYork thank you! I thought I had a better view from Jersey Liberty park but I’m just going to visit the island. Might as well go to Ellis too and look for my ancestors hopefully by 12 pm I can go see the charging bull and the 9/11 memorial. I wanted to walk the Brooklyn bridge but rather walk around the area till I reach Washington square then go to over story for my birthday cocktails and hopefully catch the sunset behind the Empire State Building. 😍🌇
