Referring to compass from orange whistle-container I have two assumptions of its accuracy: 1) Compass isn't leveled exact horizontally (because this freely moving little air bubble isn't right above device's axis). 2) Coin-shaped piece of metal, which lies just under the compass, may have sort of magnetic characteristics (whole or parts of it) which can affect needle movements.
I used to always have a Suunto on my watch strap, however after loosing a couple of them, I have switched to the nDur watchband compass. They are GSA and TAA compliant, which means they are accepted for use by the US Military. Thus far I am quite happy with the brand. If it can survive me then it's pretty good.
Yeah my Suunto came off my watch strap 3 times and luckily I found it twice. Unfortunately the third time I have never found it again. Excellent compass, I just really don't like the clipper style.
I purchased some cheap watch band type compasses from hobby lobby... Three in the pack. These are non-liquid compasses... It work better than any other inexpensive but encompass that is liquid-filled.... They are all extremely accurate... Although for getting myself out of the woods I would rather trust a SUNTO wrist compass with rotating bezel and degree indicators... But I do put these inexpensive hobby lobby compasses on my watch band as a backup
Glad it worked for you. Mine highly inaccurate. Recently bought a small brass button compass with that is not filled with oil. Think it was made by County Com. American company but still made in China ☹️ the needle is quick to settle and accurate. Quite good so far. Plan on taking it out with an OS map to see how it performs in the real world will of course take something a little larger that I know works just in case.
Every button compass i have ever used has been wrong or failed after a short time. i will never trust these little pieces of junk. why do they even make these things?
Button compasses will point you in a general direction, but they are cheap and unreliable for accuracy. Invest in a proper compass. Skip the toys. They aren't worth the money, and certainly not your life.
That survival bracelet from China problem is there's a fero rod right near the compass.. might be interfering with the function of the compass

I got the orange tube. The compass part fell apart after an accidental drop, just needs glue. It's accurate enough with my other compasses.

You didn't mention if you were aware of the whistle right there next to the compass on the paracord bracelet.

A bad workman ALWAYS blames his tools. FACT.

Trunord is the best. The rest are garbage really.
