Funny I'm in the middle of "City of Glass".. It actually took me a few attempts to get through "City of Bones" too! But once I got to the middle - it sucked me in!

That being said, I’ve had The Fault in Our Stars sitting om my shelf since 2014 and still haven’t read it. Yet.

Well, I live in Russia and it's the best way to escape the hype vortex😂 it takes a couple of years to translate a book (sometimes a couple of decades) and bring it to the Russian audience. And if you order it from Amazon in origin you sometimes have to pay up to 50$ shipping. Hachiko mod on actually😂. Constantly.
i've just started reading again in april after not reading for like 6 years so honestly i'm just reading every super hyped book i can get my hands on in an attempt to figure out what kinda books i like! so far i'm loving most of the books i've read so i'd say it's working

Liz’s Library The Stormlight Archive is very good... it was an amazing read for me. I always thought I knew what was going to happen and then... let's just say book 1 is amazing, book 2 is more amazing and book 3 is even more amazing! I love them. If you want to have a short taste of Sanderson's writings, start with The Emperor's Soul novella. It's short and very good.
Ksupppa Fresh I love big books too. I can't wait for book 4, hopefully it will be looooong, so the journey won't end early...I want it to never end! :x

I easily escaped several hyped books... I ignore it... I have read books before they became super popular like school for good and evil. Otherwise the only book series I got into because of hype is the manga series promised Neverland. Also if you love manga, especially horror manga with lots of mystery and secrets I suggest reading promised Neverland.

I've done a pretty weird reading order with cassandra clare to where I have read everything else first and now I'm reading the infernal devices. The one good thing is as I go back through I see so many Easter eggs that pay off later.
I read a lot of books because of the hype, I'm just so curious to see if a book lives up to it :) Some I loved are Beartown, The Hate U Give, Skyward, Radio Silence and I'll Give You the Sun. Some I didn't love are Vicious, Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating and Ghost Wall. So overall I mostly end up happily surprised, btw I actually recently picked up The Martian from the library as I've been hearing about it for so many years so I hope I'll like it 😊
I honestly think giving into hype is one of the best ways to understand people!! If everyone is reading it and talking about it, there must be something to say! There is no shame in hype, it’s how we can relate to eachother over shared interests or even differing opinions.
Also, just letting you know, Cardan Greenbriar isn't the Cruel Prince. I forgot if its Daine or Balekin, but Holly mentioned it in an interview that Cardan wasn't the Cruel Prince.

I hate divergent for the hype it gets and the comparison of it with The Hunger Games!!! (Hunger Games is my LIFE, and I hated divergent- or maybe I just disliked it because I had high expectations due its comparison with Hunger Games ) I liked the story initially, but the rest of the trilogy was kind of lame for me.....Cuz I really didn't like Tris and Tobias, the side characters were better than the main characters

I think Jesse would like the Curse Worker series by Holly Black. It’s UNDER-hyped! I was hyped up for the Raven Cycle, and avoided reading it until the final book was about to be released. I just finished my 3rd re-read of full series, bumped up my ratings on the second pass, and I follow the Ravin’ Girls podcast now, so...

So overall I mostly end up happily surprised, btw I actually recently picked up The Martian from the library as I've been hearing about it for so many years so I hope I'll like it 😊

Super early!(for once🤣) Book hype is so easy to get caught into!
I read Harry Potter because of the hype lol, and it ended up being my gateway book series!
I honestly think giving into hype is one of the best ways to understand people!! If everyone is reading it and talking about it, there must be something to say! There is no shame in hype, it’s how we can relate to eachother over shared interests or even differing opinions.
Also, just letting you know, Cardan Greenbriar isn't the Cruel Prince. I forgot if its Daine or Balekin, but Holly mentioned it in an interview that Cardan wasn't the Cruel Prince.
Do you have a job or go to School? With my new school schedule I can barely read one book at the time. I really miss books😭.

I hate divergent for the hype it gets and the comparison of it with The Hunger Games!!! (Hunger Games is my LIFE, and I hated divergent- or maybe I just disliked it because I had high expectations due its comparison with Hunger Games ) I liked the story initially, but the rest of the trilogy was kind of lame for me.....Cuz I really didn't like Tris and Tobias, the side characters were better than the main characters
I read Six of Crows and The Raven Boys because of hype and I absolutely adored them both. I’m still skeptical when I start popular books, but I’m finding in the last year or so that I usually end up enjoying them, so that’s been a pleasant surprise for me!
