    I'm on my first BMW, an F900r, in nearly two decade of riding and I'm still super impressed by just how will it's built. Even after two years of hard riding, it still looks and feels brand new.

    Loving it, takes me back to my first impressions. You were being very civilised! It's such a do all pussycat character like that but omfg it's savage when you dial into it and burn the carbon off the thing. Check the service records for when it got fresh oil in the suspension, as good as it feels now... get a refresh planned so you have it in it's perfect state. Then you'll love it even more and know it's right. Enjoy your HP4 journey dude!

    Go with the new Michelin Road 6. Tires are awesome and very sticky. Just put a set my 2013 Honda VFR 1200 F. The Michelin Road Pilot 4's were done.
    I also have a nicely restored 1984 Honda VF 700 F Interceptor, Freddie Spencer color scheme, with Pirelli Sport Demons. I had the same 84 Interceptor in 750cc back in the late 80's early 90's when I was in the Marine Corps. Stupidly sold it. Regretted it for years. Found the 700 in 2019 in central PA and had to have it. Wife's eyes rolling. You've got nice rides. Ride safe brother!!

    What people forget (or don’t know) is the top 1000+ sport bikes have all the best kit… best brakes, tyres, suspension etc than smaller cc bikes that make them go, stop and handle much better and safer than a smaller cad bike with ‘cheap’ low spec suspension, brakes and tyres etc, so if you can control your wrist the 1000cc sports bikes are better and safer it pretty much every way.
    Awesome bike by the way. Definitely a collector in future years.

    • @johnporf9546
      @johnporf9546 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      As someone who started on a supersport for that reason, I have to disagree. Even tho smaller cc bikes will most likely have inferior equipment, under "normal" riding, you are probably not riding hard enough to find their limits.

    • @Thomas-yv5yw
      @Thomas-yv5yw 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would have said sportsbike vs other bikes rather than up/sub 1000
      cbr zxXr gsxr all do great compared to SV ninja(er6n) katanas etc

    • @jamest5149
      @jamest5149 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnporf9546 this is partly true, only because people don’t know or a lazy to set the bike up for their weight and ability but this works for a light weight bike as much as a sports bike. But set the bike up correctly and the 1000cc+ super bike will handle and stop better with greater limits than the smaller bike, that’s just a fact.

    • @ChaseN194
      @ChaseN194 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah, thats not how it works at all. For street riding literally nothing these bikes come with is needed, and funny enough on track most of the "fancy" parts on these bikes need to be upgraded to be competitive. Start on a ninja400-R7 unless you want to progress incredibly slow in learning. Not saying you cant learn how to commute on large bikes, but you will be learning much slower than anyone who started on a smaller bike. These "safety nets" are not meant to be safety nets, they are meant to extend the limits of vastly more skilled riders. TC for example does not give you more traction it controls your throttle to maintain and work with the grip you have. I have witnessed a bmw sbk rider get scolded for not triggering traction control enough because "if your traction control isnt being triggered on every corner, you arent riding this bike fast enough". Under most racing class rules, if manufacturers want to use these types of tech to improve their speed and time, it needs to be a feature that they have included on their bikes to sell to the consumer market. So really most of these features not only were never meant to be "safety nets", but rather tools used by professionals to push their limits. Except abs, but funny enough some GP teams use variations of abs to control the rear wheel lift in corners.

    My favorite bike... Nice video, nice and undestndable explanation with "I don't need to go with 180 to feel, to know it is fast...".
    Blipper / shifter- don't use them 1st to 2nd and reverse. If you want to feel it smooth and have a lot of fun using them, you need to use more throttle for the shifter and way more brake power, than you have used in the video, for the blipper (again w/o 1st to 2nd and back).

    One thing I'll tell ya after moving from Hondas to the bmw.. Drop your tire pressures. Do not use the 36/42 swing arm pressures. You'll just spin out your rear and kick off the traction all the time and buck around turns. Check the specific recommendations from the manufacturer of the tires being used and go from there. For reference.. on my Diablo Rosso Corsa II's I've been doing 34f/33r and it's perfect.

    Nice bike mate, very happy for you.
    Glad you sold the 954, it felt like a lemon. Sad to see the Kawasaki go.
    What would you say is quicker. The BMW or Kawasaki?
    Be safe mate.

    • @HeroRR
      @HeroRR  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      BMW is quicker all around. The ZX14R was different in terms of how smooth it felt on the highway, It would do 160 and you felt like you were going 100. I still cannot understand how that bike did that. The HP4 is faster all around, but you know you're going fast when you get up there.

      @@HeroRR great analogy. I purchased a Blackbird based on your reviews and ride video. I am guessing the Kawasaki was similar.

    Ive owned a few litre bikes and i always go back to a 600--why? the litre bike's power is so ridiculous that you barely use all of it. Personally, i like a 600--i can use the entire powerband and enjoy shifting through the gears. Just not the same experience on a litre.
