Here's a little story about the 2010 BMW S1000RR: I bought the bike in January 2024 and made the decision solely based on this video. I have to admit that this video excellently describes the features of the motorcycle. The S1000RR is an incredible engineering feat, combining raw power and insanity with safety and reliability, and somehow the German engineers also made it comfortable. My initial feelings about the bike were quite anxious. There are numerous videos on TH-cam where the bike is ridden at 300 km/h, and I wondered if I could handle such a machine. The first winding road I rode convinced me that this bike is heavenly. The throttle response, riding position, aerodynamics, suspension, torque, power, and quickshifter-all these factors create a perfect motorcycle. This might be the closest bike to experiencing 10% of what it feels like to ride the Isle of Man. The bike also has a full Akrapovic exhaust system with an HP4 slip-on, so the sound is reminiscent of that too. The quickshifter's shift pops give the bike a competitive feel, and I can tell you that I haven't ridden a better bike myself. I will eventually part with this bike because I also like to try newer models, but for now, this is the pinnacle of my riding experience!
THANK YOU!!! Finally a proper review of the previous generation S1000RR. I now own one and you literally explained EXACTLY how "heavenly" this bike really is!
Awesome! Thank you so much! I plan on doing more soon, especially next riding season. But in the mean time there are actually 3 more videos like this one that I did for a local dealership here where I live. Check them out if you haven't yet! th-cam.com/channels/ZvK5qmMQgzaG1yARkxOA7Q.html
Just bought my first beemer. 2011 s1000rr and looking forward to riding this coming spring once I learn the modes and selections for riding to me capabilities. I have wanted to buy one for some time and finally the "price is right" hit me last week before Christmas. And this one is in the BMW colors too, the way I wanted it to be. Thanks for your video and ride safe.

Thanks for giving some love to the ducati monster 1200 in the end there, which is what I have and was really contemplating on selling it and getting a 1000rr.
The power that Ducati had was unreal. I had to mention it because at the time of making this video, that was the only other motorcycle that wow'd me as much as the BMW in multiple areas. I won't try to sway your decision one way or the other, cuz both bikes are amazing.

I hope my Daytona 675R is a good stepping stone into this beast. At around 50k miles, I plan on selling it and getting a new S1000RR. The Daytona can be quite a beast as well, but not overly powerful. Plenty to kill you though and only has ABS!
SerratedMobius that’s good to know because I’ve been riding the street triple which has the same engine just a little less top end hp and more bottom end torque and this week I’m looking to snatch a 2011 or 2012

That was a fucking great review! Seriously though! Btw looking to buy one as well. What would you recommend between a 2010 s1000rr for 10k euro and an R1 2016 for 15k euro? Also how different do you believe the 2015 to 2010 s1000rr models are?
Thanks man! So if you're looking for a road bike: S1000RR. Looking for a track bike: R1. However when it comes to looks and rider comfort, I prefer the S1000 over the new R1. It's quicker and turns in better than mine. I don't personally like the look of it though. Im partial to the old body style myself.
Yeah it's stupid how different it is. At least in my opinion. Electronic throttle was the biggest thing for me. Mine has a cable throttle and I'm used to the resistance it has. The new ones feel super loose but direct. Gets on the power like crazy.
I love this bike, bought one a few days ago and its perfect, only thing is the engine stalls whenever i give full throttle and theres no apparent explanation, and ive looked it up on a lot of forums, most people just recommend buying a GS911 for diagnostics but im taking it to a trustworthy mechanic in 2 days, even if the reliability is shit (which u dont even mention in this review lmao) the bike’s worth the headache
So, I wanna ask you something and you need to be honest. Have you ridden a sport bike with a cable throttle made in 2008 or earlier? If so, how does the instant throttle response of the cable operated throttle compare to the ride by wire system of the BMW? In slick mode, is it as instant to respond or does it lag ever so slightly? I need an honest answer.
So I had to go out in my garage to be sure cuz you made me second guess myself, but my 2011 S1K has a cable throttle lol. It does feel pretty instant but yeah. And no I haven't ridden a sport bike older than 08. Oldest sport bike I've ridden was a 09 ZX-6R.
@@SerratedMobius the first and second generation s1k have 2 cables coming out of the wrist control. One attaches to a solenoid sensor at the intake, that solenoid reads out throttle controller position and sends it to the ECU and the ride by wire takes care of the rest. The other cable attaches to the butterfly valves and it acts as an override to force shut the butterfly valves in case of an emergency in which the solenoid malfunctions. You have no real control over the opening of the throttle but you have absolute control over closing it. So, you haven't ridden actual mechanical throttle by a cable. Anyway thanks for taking the time to answer.

I for one would be interested in that review! I'm on a 2017 Ninja 650 right now, and love it. But I think I want to step up to a liter bike. Close friend of mine has owned both a 2015 zx10r and 2017 bmw s1000rr. He said the zx10r was the most uncomfortable bike he ever owned, and the bmw was the best hands down.
wow thx dude, and i though the bmw was the hardest to drive,i want a 1kcc around 4k$ but as i guess bmw is to expensive, dont worry i got e46 bwm :D but one day i will have that killer machine in my garadge beside my e46 bmw
I've heard the KTM RC8 has more spacious dimensions when it comes to riding position compared to the rest of the supersport bikes. But with your height? I'd be looking at something like a Multistrada/V Strom/S1000 XR. Adventure bikes would probably be the most comfortable for you.
Yeah. Mixed feelings about that. It's like they caved to the criticism. The asymmetry was a defining feature, you knew what bike it was immediately. Now its just samey

I want a sports bike but I’m kinda tall at 7’1. What’s the biggest sports bike I could fit on if any at all?
I've heard the KTM RC8 has more spacious dimensions when it comes to riding position compared to the rest of the supersport bikes. But with your height? I'd be looking at something like a Multistrada/V Strom/S1000 XR. Adventure bikes would probably be the most comfortable for you.
It has won Superstock 1000 four times, 2010, 2013, 2013 and 2016
Also, take a seat
Didn't know you could win a championship twice in one year lol.
I like the reference to Portal!
Best game
Oddly enough they changed the headlights on the new model so that the bike actually looks nice now....
Yeah. Mixed feelings about that. It's like they caved to the criticism. The asymmetry was a defining feature, you knew what bike it was immediately. Now its just samey
@@SerratedMobius the orginal head light was unique, the 2020 looks average.
So like
Holy shit
I've just watched over half the content on your channel and goddamn you're a funny bastard. Keep making shit, man, PLEASE.
Glad you like it dude! Video editing is a fun hobby of mine so there will definitely be more coming!
I'm thinking about getting one here in Germany. I'm going to park it beside my little 500 :p
