David is it just me or did you gain Fat? you look alot thicker than you used to be? or was that some muscles? Well its fine you are skinny David. BTW who realise David wears the same underwear he wore in his spray paint video
This is cool being able to paint your car any color you choose and when you get tired of it just peel it off and do something different, cant believe how far things have advanced over the years, just amazing.
StepMeUpRob lol if you think this was for free then you sir are the fuckin idiot. He either got paid in cash or with product. Either way he received something
Dont Assume My Gender!!! Sorry to derail your hate train, but ask yourself a couple questions.. Did he say he bought the PD from DipYour Car in the video? Did he give out or promote our website? Did he even mention our company once? Remember DipYourCar doesn't make/own Plasti Dip, we are a distributor. There are hundreds of distributors of Plasti Dip, so a generic video about using dip does not directly benefit DipYourCar. If we were to sponsor or pay for a video, don't you think we'd want our company/products/website mentioned in that video? If you knew anything about DYC as a company, you'd know we are as upfront and honest as it gets. I know it's fun to hate on companies online, but you're off base on this one. Take care and have a great day.
Plasti Dip gets so much unnecessary hate! I hated it too, but only because I did it wrong. Second time around worked much better and it has lasted on my wheels for over a year!
I did the hood, convertible and splitter trims, and trunk of a newline mustang GT in 2017, and it is still on there today. It looked great but started to flake and peel a little bit in 2022. Also is worth noting if you live in a hot place and park in the sun, it does not come off in one piece at all after baking on for years, and requires more effort to remove than this video, but still not too bad..
I was all ready to try my hand at wrapping my car to make it look less like shit and then here you come saving me alot of tears and OCD meltdowns. Bless. 🙌
Hey Joshua, this is your Aunt Linda I heard about all the little friends you made on You Tube! I just wanted to say I am so proud of you! p.s. Your uncle Jim wont be back till next week i'd love for you to stop by and keep me company;) Okay love and miss you bye Joshy!
Hey David, you forgot one thing with the painting the square, you should remove tape edging after around 3-5 minutes to get a clean edge and to prevent dripping
I dipped my wheels and chrome grill 2 YEARS AGO and the wheels still look good! Very smooooth finish. Grill is starting to get pinholes from bugs. Its also been thru car washes (no touch and power washer) I have 5 or 6 coats. Coats are the key. Did the roof of a car with cans, it came out not so good compared to a vertical surface
If you use the DYC tips for the spray can you get way better coverage as they allow more material and a wider spray pattern to be sprayed so it doesn't give you that dry look. Just like spray paint, due to the lack a material being sprayed you get streaks and dull spots even when overlapping your passes. In my opinion it is because the surface isn't staying wet enough to allow the over spray from the remaining passes to blend in. It's a fine line between not enough and too much. Definitely a fun product though.
Ehhhhh....depends on your definition of "right" lol have you saw some of their paint jobs??? David's plasti dip job on that fender is "show quality" when compared to "Haggard quality".
Patience is key with plasti. My wheels came out hella well because of the time that went into them. They're about 6 layers thick each wheel. Havent scratched. Doesnt come off with my pressure washer. I always recommend plasti, especially for those who are very concerned about permanently painting a part. It peels literally right off if you have enough layers applied.
Thanks for making this video! I was going to take my Miata to a paint shop so my hardtop would match the rest of the car but it's really expensive I considered plasticity but wasn't sure how to do it
Gotta admit, I'm impressed it came off that easy. i have some of the early red on a 64 Chrysler of mine and I'm still trying to get that crap off, even with the dip dissolver.
Do It With Dan "what's crazy about this book is that Lucifer was the most beautiful of them all THATS JUST CRAZY I DONT KNOW ABOUT YOU ALL" and I'm over here like 😱
They also have a clear color you could put on last to add a little protection. I used that and then clear coat on my tailights and it stayed flawless for 3 years. (car is sold but it is still flawless)
A vid produce by someone under 30 with ZERO swearing and eff-bombs? Did I stumble into another dimension? Props, thank you - I'm going to Plasti Dip my Wrangler I think.
Literally HAD to comment only because of "Oh, SHUT UP Thomas!" What a treat to hear that piece of comedy gold. Wasn't expecting it, so it was quite hilarious.
I recently bought a Cadillac STS V that was peppered to shit from freeway driving. I temporarily put on black plasti dip while I was looking to get the grill repainted and actually really liked how the matte black looked and people gave me complements. Now, about half a year later I still love it.
I just wanna say thanks for showing us this new style that is very popular but you show me how I can make money doing what I love messing with cars. thanks bro keep up the great vids.
best way to remove overspray is a microfiber cloth just rubs right off, or you can always pressure wash the overspray off just want to wait atleast 12 hours before washing other dipped parts
I've found that the only way to get the smoothest surface finish with plastidip is to over-do it with the coats... Spray lots and lots on there until it's wet, then when it dries it will be as smooth as possible. Otherwise it's going to be rough.
Dipyourcar.com pays people to make their products look good because its shit. There is a reason its cheap. Ive used it before, perfectly as instructed, the colors are not what advertised and it comes off by its self after a bit.
the whole video was him getting bad results despite doing it right, because plasti dip is shit. Then he made excuses of why it came out shit because dipyourcar paid him to make this video.
That's a pretty nice s14. And plus you dipping or wrapping is the way to go if you are trying to preserve the paint on your car for a later date if you want to sell it and have the original paint on it still because I wrap my car and when I went to sell it I took the wrap off and the paint still look great and all I did was pill the wrap off give it a nice wax and buff and I look brand-new.
One of my friends owns UGM Motorsports in Dallas. He is a distributor for DipYourCar and he has had his G37 dipped for the longest time. He told me it will last up to three years if you take care of it
nope, speaking from experience "bro"; plasti-dip is an awesome product, but using cans for the whole car and expecting a good finish is naive. They sell entire kits that include electric compressor powered guns and they make a huge difference for a large surface area. The aerosol cans are meant for small areas and even professional "dippers" will tell you that.
Yeah I was thinking it's probably way more cost effective to use the gallons haha. If I apply it perfectly, cans or buckets, how long will it last, and when will I know when to remove it?
Speaking of spraying plasti dip wrong... Try to spray indoors Try not to spray on a dirt floor Clean surface Keep the same spray distance is key! Try to avoid spraying downward This purple is nice!!
I just watched your RX-7 video. I'm jealous of your life. lol I'm an IT guy so it's not like I drive slow stuff but damn the cars you drive are just amazing!! I used to test drive cars as a youth just to experience cars I couldn't afford. Most people only get to experience the modded cars they do themselves.
This stuff is seriously way too much fun. With practice, it can do some pretty awesome things!
Thanks for watching! Stay awesome.
that ending though
Hey @thatdudeinblue I messaged you! thanks for the awesome content!
David is it just me or did you gain Fat? you look alot thicker than you used to be? or was that some muscles? Well its fine you are skinny David. BTW who realise David wears the same underwear he wore in his spray paint video
obsessed much?
Too get the over spray off just use " goo gone"
This is cool being able to paint your car any color you choose and when you get tired of it just peel it off and do something different, cant believe how far things have advanced over the years, just amazing.
For people using the rattle cans, be sure the nozzle is free of dip before spraying another coat if you want to avoid spatter. You're welcome.
*PRO TIP*: Use 99% Alcohol to wipe down the body panels you want to spray plastidip on for the best adhesion and longevity.
SIR' TRAP - RELOADED 2nd time reading that I’m going to have to when I do my rims. Appreciate you
Alcohol eats away at plastidip
Use alcohol then use water and dry
@@coleprivett9125 Alcohol evaporates so quickly it isnt necessary.
Thanks!
Come down to South Florida so we can do a car together!
DipYourCar ^^^^^
DipYourCar where in south fl?
wow you really think the man needs to pay someone considering the amount of business dyc gets on a daily basis. smh children

4:25 That color with just the first layer looks great, the blue and purple mixed.
Ttyme1616 ikr
skyline midnight blue 2
Ttyme1616 *YES!!!!* I was thinking the same thing. looked great on camera, I'm sure it looked just as good in person. That was a very nice color!
the problem is with just one layer of plastidip, it won't come off as easy. sucks tho, that was a sexy color
yeah, it looked pretty overdone later on, the fender wasnt really glossing enough
Plasti Dip gets so much unnecessary hate! I hated it too, but only because I did it wrong. Second time around worked much better and it has lasted on my wheels for over a year!
2 years here. IN NORTHERN WISCONSIN!!
Holy crap... good job! any fading? mine are black but are starting to grey a little bit
Mine will be going on three years here in Central Wisconsin.
Goin on 4 years down here in Southern Wisconsin lovin it.
Not really.
Plastidipped my whole car and I love it, and it does take a lot of patience but the turn around is awesome👌🏽
hey man, if you're still active on this account. After 5 years do you still feel the same?
Does plastidip stay on a good amount of time?
We painted a 68 Ford black back in 2014 and it still on the truck today. Took 10 cans, but it’s durable.
I did the hood, convertible and splitter trims, and trunk of a newline mustang GT in 2017, and it is still on there today. It looked great but started to flake and peel a little bit in 2022. Dave, your videos are so pure and really express the type of person you are and love that man. Keep up the sick work!!!
I was all ready to try my hand at wrapping my car to make it look less like shit and then here you come saving me alot of tears and OCD meltdowns. Bless. 🙌
The masking will come off way easier and cleaner if u remove it right after spraying ur last coat
Noted!
But the coats underneath have already dried. Every coat except for the last coat would have already bonded to the masking tape
Im not sure how it works scientifically. Im just going off of experience fam. I use plastidip quite a bit, u learn as u go
+datstocklyfe i like you
NSXShockwave dioyourcar also says to always always make sure to peel tape ect right after you put the last coat on.
You have to take the tape off as soon as you finish the final coat when it's still wet, in order to get a perfect edge
"OH SHUT UP, THOMAS"
:(
lmao
t5 entry lol, ikr
ahahahahha
t5 entry That's my favorite part of the entire video. 😄

14:14, "Oh shut up, Thomas!" ~David Patterson, 2017.
In my opinion, people who can plasti dip almost near perfect have a real true talent
In this episode, Mr. Blueberry turns a blue car a little purple to show us his grape side

The amount of overspray from that box example has to be outrageous lol
Had to double check to make sure this wasn't haggard garage
You know it's not Haggard Garage 'cause he's actually taking his time and doing a good job
Onion and Cam are actually taking time to do things right with their drift builds but other stuff they do is just to get it done lmao

Would you still recommend it now? 5 years later
Should do the whole car in that colour, it looks awesome
One time we didn't have Plastidip so we used Flex Seal.... BIG MISTAKE!
omg sweet lord did you catch it on camera would like to see the video 😬
ZackGoes this made me laugh bro good shit lol
Can't believe I'm the only one who realized it's zackgoes! FUCK 12
THATS ALOTTA DAMAGE!
My daily is a shitbox chevy metro sedan and the rear bumper was cracked so I flex sealed the entire bumper. Full send or no send lol
That color looks really good for dip, especially for no glossifier!
Review Gingiums rally miata
Alice that's would be awesome good suggestion 👍🏼
Alice agree but he said he's supercharging it so maybe then
And Molly
Engaboat yeah
Why is it so wholesome how excited and amused he gets about it lol
Thanks for making this video! I was going to take my Miata to a paint shop so my hardtop would match the rest of the car but it's really expensive I considered plasticity but wasn't sure how to do it

Now plastidip the whole car for that white drift car with crazy color. it only cost 4 times more than spray cans.
i think thats a good idea ita a drift car anyway paint will get damaged :)
X Blocky I think he wanted to do that dark blue metallic color on his drift 240
HoeLeeFuQQ k
X Blocky he did
It'll take like 40 cans lol
I love watching your older videos then coming back to your newer ones to see how you've grown through the years. Love the videos David
Now I really want to use that color on my Cressida
Billgo SaturnIon cressy ❤️😥
Billgo SaturnIon toyota cressida i really want one
David you should see all the metalizer and pearlizer colors that plastidip has out now. Some awesome stuff
review his kouki it is beautiful, love your videos
Can't wait for a video of a full car's paint job, that will be awesome to see.
david could review a satanic bible and it would still come out amazing
Do It With Dan "what's crazy about this book is that Lucifer was the most beautiful of them all THATS JUST CRAZY I DONT KNOW ABOUT YOU ALL" and I'm over here like 😱
Do It With Dan nah stfu
You mean the Talmud? yes its very scary stuff
They also have a clear color you could put on last to add a little protection. I used that and then clear coat on my tailights and it stayed flawless for 3 years. (car is sold but it is still flawless)
I guess you could say david bagged the s14
A vid produce by someone under 30 with ZERO swearing and eff-bombs? Did I stumble into another dimension? Props, thank you - I'm going to Plasti Dip my Wrangler I think.
ive seen the pros say to peel off your tape while its wet to avoid ruining your work
thats not right at all.
blake5012 yes, yes it is. In fact every even semi experienced user knows this. It isn't paint.
I've painted a lot of cars in my life and not once have i peeled it off while wet. you peel when dry at a 45 degree angle.
Thats paint not plasti dip its different.
ik but he is talking about actual paint.
Frist video i ever watched from you David was when you plastidiped 5.0 badges. Man how the time flies!
I plastdipped my laptop the other day
DR lol
DR I platidipped my keychain once came out super sweeet
hey,i nvr thought to trying tht,ill give it a shot
TRO LINU one can will do about 2 laptops. 8 coats on each
Abdujalil Minni it came out really well
Literally HAD to comment only because of "Oh, SHUT UP Thomas!" What a treat to hear that piece of comedy gold. Wasn't expecting it, so it was quite hilarious.
Am I the only one who noticed it got on the mirror as well?
he was too lax with taping off the areas.
And he never showed us how easy it was to get the overspray off the door!!
Overspray can easily be cleaned up with a microfiber towel and a little bit of elbow grease.
Alex Moreau use gasoline I had a similar problem as the over spray and used an old oil rag and gas
Jonathan M I noticed too
Appreciate this video bro I know this was 2 years ago but definetly helps. Gonna do this to my 2g eclipse.
that ending 😂😂
it was very funny lol. love it :)
I recently bought a Cadillac STS V that was peppered to shit from freeway driving. I temporarily put on black plasti dip while I was looking to get the grill repainted and actually really liked how the matte black looked and people gave me complements. Now, about half a year later I still love it.
A Plastidip tutorial in 2017? A little behind don't you think. Great vid either way
Alex, Read his description.
I just wanna say thanks for showing us this new style that is very popular but you show me how I can make money doing what I love messing with cars. thanks bro keep up the great vids.
It would be good to know how you avoided sputtering from the cans.
Warm the can in hot water
finally someone who understands plastidip!
AAH SHATAAP THOMAS!
best plastidip commercial ive ever seen :D
so... how to clean those plastidip dusts??
best way to remove overspray is a microfiber cloth just rubs right off, or you can always pressure wash the overspray off just want to wait atleast 12 hours before washing other dipped parts
3M Adhesive Remover basically makes the dip melt off. Strong enough to get the dip off but weak enough to not damage the paint underneath.
Rub it with a microfiber towel, that's it !
That paint is gorgeous and makes that plasti-dip look awesome.
Billy Mays'd the fuck outta this one lol! But wait there's more!
Do that purple on the drift car, with white wheels.
Welshy I wanna do this to my TRD Lara
oh a new thatdudeinblue video , studying can wait
700k coming in quick
I've found that the only way to get the smoothest surface finish with plastidip is to over-do it with the coats... Spray lots and lots on there until it's wet, then when it dries it will be as smooth as possible. Otherwise it's going to be rough.

I like that there is no sanding.
MooresCreek Mafia yup don’t need to for plastic dip. It’s not paint

Dipyourcar.com pays people to make their products look good because its shit. There is a reason its cheap. Ive used it before, perfectly as instructed, the colors are not what advertised and it comes off by its self after a bit.
you can see how shitty it is, when he was peeling off the tape from the box, the plastidip came off too lmao. Dont use plastidip.
the whole video was him getting bad results despite doing it right, because plasti dip is shit. Then he made excuses of why it came out shit because dipyourcar paid him to make this video.
Bernie Sanders it's not shit. He would have gotten crisp edges if he peeled the tape when it was wet
behold to the plastidip video from all youtubers again
I put dip on my rims. I have a video of it, it turned out well.
how long did it last for you? checking out your channel now.
It's been on for about a year now and has held up well.
5:04 is that a Rolex???
Nah, its a request to get sponsored by MVMNT like the other automotive channels.
"Ah SHUT UP THOMAS!" Had me rolling
Watching this mask job hurts my heart.
One of my friends owns UGM Motorsports in Dallas. He is a distributor for DipYourCar and he has had his G37 dipped for the longest time. He told me it will last up to three years if you take care of it
Yeah and doing a single fender significantly decreases surface area and makes it look much better than if you did the whole car
I'm aware. but when only doing a single fender as opposed to the whole car, they reduce surface area which makes it harder to spot/make mistakes.
cschultz1711
oops, tagged the wrong person lol i meant to tag the guy who said he plastidipped his PC lol.
cschultz1711 nah bro your just looking to hate on something
Doing it right or wrong doesn't matter. It's shit and doesn't belong on automobiles

How to plastidip a car with spray cans.
Step 1: Don't.

How many cans do you need to dip an entire car? Also, how long will it last?
It would take WAY too many. My recommendation- use gallons and a gun. I will do that sometime in the future!
Yeah I was thinking it's probably way more cost effective to use the gallons haha. If I apply it perfectly, cans or buckets, how long will it last, and when will I know when to remove it?
Arrowhead i did my wheels and it lasted 2 years and came off with no problems you can also pressure wash them or so in a car wash all together
Saw some dude do it earlier to an Audi S4 (I believe), it took him ~55 cans.

Dude.......Mask yourself :|
yes! have a good one David
I like the ziptie holding the bumper cover to the fender. =D
The blurple colour they make is nice. Sprays blue and for the first 5-6 months I'd say it looks blue on direct light and purple anytime else.
Speaking of spraying plasti dip wrong...
Try to spray indoors
Try not to spray on a dirt floor
Clean surface
Keep the same spray distance is key!
Try to avoid spraying downward
This purple is nice!!
This.... is very satisfying
I just watched your RX-7 video. I'm jealous of your life. lol I'm an IT guy so it's not like I drive slow stuff but damn the cars you drive are just amazing!!

Tip #157 When you are ready to take the masking tape off, apply 1 last coat and while the plasti dip is wet, take the tape off.
weird I JUST saw your older video of plasti dip from like 2 years ago and then boom this one
I always get the best results when I spray close and wet. I also do a full sweep from end to end without stopping in between the panel.
