Was thinking the same. Though, the clones weren't exactly like Homer, some looked odd (like parodies of the character), others dumber than the original, even one that was more intelligent than the actual Homer, and moreover, they didn't have a belly button! So, there is an argument to be made if they shouldn't count as Homer seeing the only verifible quality they have in common is appearance.
Good point... This was one we debated a lot too. I look at Bart as being one individual person, one person who came into the episode, died 8 times, and exited the episode as the same person. Whereas the Homer that enters the clone episode dies during the segment, and also a bunch of others versions of him. I viewed it more as Homer (the character) dying + a bunch of belly-buttonless clones. I had a little trouble with the legal distinction of a clone as a distinct separate individual. Besides, including all his clones makes a countdown no fun, anyway. ;)
I was thinking about that while watching & "WAS going to comment BUT I don't think think that was part of the Treehouse series and was a separate episode.

I'm always surprised that there's never been an Evil Dead parody... especially when the Army of Darkness image of Homer with the chainsaw hand is such a great idea
Favorite Treehouse of horror death on the Simpsons, Helen Lovejoy getting killed by Possessed Maggie. A relief to see that after so many episodes of her targeting Marge with her gossip.
The first on-screen Treehouse of Horror death was in Treehouse of Horror III, and it was Lenny, eaten by King Homer. The first overall character death was in Treehouse of Horror I, and it was Marge, as the "Lost Lenore" In case you’re wondering, the first overall death was in Treehouse of Horror I, and it was the Native Americans in "Bad Dream House"
I'm amazed that they've never done a Psycho parody with Skinner as Norman Bates. Imagine how good that could be! Marge could meet her end in the shower, then Homer would have to team up with her sisters to check out the motel and find Agnus in the fruit cellar.
Damn, all my favourite TH-camrs uploading all at once while another favourite TH-camr is livestreaming. The agony of choice is the real Halloween horror.
"Everywhere you will die. You, your family, everyone, over and over again. Mountains of broken bodies beneath the wheel" -The Lich from Adventure Time, the writers of modern Treehouse of Horror
Good video. Very informative It really makes one notice how grotesque they are with these deaths. Generally, in the regular series are more subtle to show or not, organs and those things, when killing characters.
The THOH that was the one with the Shining parody was like, the first episode of Simpsons I ever saw when I was like... 4 or 5, and I thought that was just how the show was. That fog ending being viewed on an old rabbit ears TV with clicky dials has stayed as a key memory of my childhood forever, lol.
Now that you mention it, a Friday the 13th Treehouse skit would be pretty cool. You could have Marge be the deranged serial killer for once by casting her in the Mrs. Voorhees role. And then that naturally leads to Bart taking on the Jason role, which is weirdly fitting for him. Seriously, someone needs to get on this
I remember that in act 1 Groundskeeper Willie got axed by Homer. Act 2 Maggie axed Willie then speaks in Darth Vader's voice. Act 3 Principal Skinner axed him.
The living dead had to die first and then are usually reanimated after death. Undead refers to something that cant die by "old age" even if it used to be human. I guess those terms were more used in the 90s than now but that's how I remember it

My immediate assumption was Groundskeeper Willie, which is probably because I'm most familiar with early seasons. Again, the hat trick is one of the most memorable things the Treehouse of Horrors have ever produced!
You know what bothers me? Why are the newer episodes so less memorable? I am looking at a lot of this footage like "i don't remember that" but i FAITHFULLY either record or watch the Treehouse of Horrors EVERY SINGLE YEAR
Yeah, same. I stopped watching the Simpsons around Season 15 but every year I always make an effort to watch the Halloween Specials. The new ones are weird and disturbing and full of death, but the old ones were beautiful in the way Classical Simpsons was beautiful. I definitely don’t remember many Treehouse of Horror episodes from the 10s or 20s seasons.
@I forgot to add a name yea but Horror isn't just showing a bunch of death. Good horror focuses on the build up and fear before the death rather than making the death itself the scary part.
"It's also a good time to kill off our favorite characters... again and again and again... and again and again." Yes, but we've got to do it from different angles
I know this video is old but I think it's interesting that Lisa recently had a segment where she was killed over and over again like Bart was in the Sideshow Bob segment
@13:39 You're wrong, the Grounds Keeper Willy played a Freddy like character running around and killing kids in their dreams in a early season... I remember vividly watching it over and over as a kid.
One of my favourite Treehouse Of Horrors was actually in an old Simpsons comic ("Simpsons Comics Treehouse Of Horror 7," I think), where of all things, they decided to do a parody of Frans Kafka's "Metamorphosis." As a Kafka fan, I really appreciate such an interesting and unusual choice for a Horror parody.
I didn't expect each of the death tolls to be so close to each other, thanks for doing the homework for us! A fun reason to rewatch many of the treehouse of horrors segments
Technically, unless both Snowball 2 deaths were before OR after "I, (Annoyed Grunt)-Bot," but not both before and after, Snowball 2 was killed just once and Snowball 5 was killed once.
I always love when you get a chance to talk about newer Simpsons episodes. It's something I rarely see, most people only go as far as season 11 at the latest.
Some of those comments are seriously nostalgia-stroking, and quoting the same five episodes. RealJims is a real Jim, he actually watches modern episodes, and so do I.

I don't know if there's a word for it but, like... Nighttime nostalgia?
Like being a kid and being driven back from the airport at night. Seeing a petrol station, the only lit-up place in sight, giving an eerie feeling like nothing exists beyond it. Pizza Planet. The mountain road between Brahams and Silent Hill.
Absolutely love it.
What's the name of the song?
This channel is way under subscribed!
Maybe because he took 3 minutes to get to the actual video
Sam phelps. Yh, man. I agree
2:40 lisa, they prefer to be called the living impaired
when milhouse, lisa and bart got chopped up in that cannibal story has always stuck with me.
The treehouse of horrors were always my favorite episodes, even when i stopped watching the show i would always watch the treehouse of horror. They're the last remaining episodes where it feels like the writers actually put in alot of creativity and have fun with the show.
That whole Freddie Kruger parody with Willie... always gave me nightmares as a kid.... for a looong time lol.
This legend knows more about The Simpsons than anyone else, including the creators of the show.
Somehow I didn't know Homer was King Kong AND Godzilla. Now I want to see a King Homer Vs Homerzilla episode.
I'm always surprised that there's never been an Evil Dead parody... especially when the Army of Darkness image of Homer with the chainsaw hand is such a great idea
They did a little bit of Evil Dead 2 in the comics, Treehouse #13 Prop, Prop, Whiz, Whiz!
@@crispysteve42 Based.
The first overall character death was in Treehouse of Horror I, and it was Marge, as the "Lost Lenore"
In case you’re wondering, the first overall death was in Treehouse of Horror I, and it was the Native Americans in "Bad Dream House"
I'm amazed that they've never done a Psycho parody with Skinner as Norman Bates. Imagine how good that could be! Marge could meet her end in the shower, then Homer would have to team up with her sisters to check out the motel and find Agnus in the fruit cellar.
Too predictable.
Damn, all my favourite TH-camrs uploading all at once while another favourite TH-camr is livestreaming. The agony of choice is the real Halloween horror.
I’m still waiting for a Sleepy Hollow episode. Homer as drunk Brom, Marge as Katrina, Ned as Ichabod. It practically writes itself.
Also, thank you for not hating Lisa's guts.
"Everywhere you will die. You, your family, everyone, over and over again. Mountains of broken bodies beneath the wheel"
-The Lich from Adventure Time, the writers of modern Treehouse of Horror
Willie: ...Maurice, you, die!...lol..
"I was walking through the gas one day"-Mr Burns
😂
'"Take that Washington!"
"Eat lead Einestein!"
"Show's over Shakespeare!!!"
Is this the end of zombie Shakespeare?
Good video. Very informative
It really makes one notice how grotesque they are with these deaths. Generally, in the regular series are more subtle to show or not, organs and those things, when killing characters.
The Goldilocks parody is my favorite death. Something about the screams and the blood coming from underneath the door. I love it
I’m surprised that unlucky Gil character or cat lady aren’t killed more often
Honestly would love more Mysteries videos, still my favourite content from this channel~
Yes! Another Simpsons Mysteries! I love this! This is the best Halloween ever! Now, hopefully this means we'll get a Simpsons Showdown soon too
I was JUST rewatching the Kang and Kodos video when I got this notification. Perfect timing
Seriously, someone needs to get on this
Poor Groundkeeper Willie in Treehouse of Horror V.
Is that the one where he got burned, or is that the one where he got axed in the back in every act?
@@carultch Axed in the back in every act, the one where he got burned was Treehouse of Horror VI
I remember that in act 1 Groundskeeper Willie got axed by Homer. Act 2 Maggie axed Willie then speaks in Darth Vader's voice. Act 3 Principal Skinner axed him.
@@melissacooper4282 That the episode.
I’m genuinely surprised about the lack of Moleman death/torture on the THOH series! Yes, it is Opposite Day.
I've never heard that distinction between the living dead and the undead. I was under the assumption that they are the same thing.
The living dead had to die first and then are usually reanimated after death. Undead refers to something that cant die by "old age" even if it used to be human. I guess those terms were more used in the 90s than now but that's how I remember it
@@issholland If you were completely resurrected, then wouldn't that just make you alive? What would Bucciarati from JJBA fall under? He was reanimated but his body was deteriorating at a rapid pace, eventually causing him to lose his sense of hearing and sight.
@@VGamingJunkieVT complete resurrection means you're a regular human again
@@issholland That's what I figured. Resurrection simply means alive and well. Not sure what you mean by living dead, a fallible zombie/lich?
@@VGamingJunkieVT yeah a zombie or a lich would be living dead because by all metrics they are "dead," like heart rate, brain activity, anything along those lines, but they still have "living" functions like zombies still eat even though they dont need to or a lich still having the means to "think" even though their brain would have long deteriorated like their body did
Thought I was watching Dead Meat for a moment... actually that would be quite a neat crossover/collab.
10:15 "All of Lisa and Maggie's deaths are with other family members"
Treehouse of Horror XXXI: are you sure about that?
Well, for Lisa.
My immediate assumption was Groundskeeper Willie, which is probably because I'm most familiar with early seasons. Again, the hat trick is one of the most memorable things the Treehouse of Horrors have ever produced!
My favorite Simpsons episodes by my favorite Simpsons commentator!
"Alcohol and night swimming : it's a winning combination!"
You know what bothers me? Why are the newer episodes so less memorable? I am looking at a lot of this footage like "i don't remember that" but i FAITHFULLY either record or watch the Treehouse of Horrors EVERY SINGLE YEAR
Cos the older it is, the more often you've been able to see it maybe?
@@AmberAmber I think that you may have the answer there. Feeling down = Watch an old episode.
@I forgot to add a name yea but Horror isn't just showing a bunch of death. Good horror focuses on the build up and fear before the death rather than making the death itself the scary part.
"It's also a good time to kill off our favorite characters... again and again and again... and again and again."
Yes, but we've got to do it from different angles
The first RealJims video I’ve watched 2 years ago!
I honestly think that it was really gross how often they kill Bart. I mean, what is so funny about murdering a little, chubby boy?
I know this video is old but I think it's interesting that Lisa recently had a segment where she was killed over and over again like Bart was in the Sideshow Bob segment
the fact that Moleman has died more in the main series than in these non canonical stories is just funny
@13:39 You're wrong, the Grounds Keeper Willy played a Freddy like character running around and killing kids in their dreams in a early season... I remember vividly watching it over and over as a kid.
Yea that happened.
But it was a parody of Nightmare on elm Street.
Simpsons Mystery is my favorite show on here. Glad to see another one.
"It didn't always be this way."
You, _sound_ like Homer! 🤣🤣
Thank you for them giggles TheRealJims
When I saw the screen at 0:53, I thought Disco Stu was pretty badass when his death pose is groping a woman.
Then I saw his other hand.
The notification popped up and I clicked on it as fast as I could. Love your videos. Best Halloween Treat Ever.
Thankyou for all the videos you make! You are the best channel I've discovered in a long time, a Simpsons channel that delves deep!
LIsa just shot way the fuck up in the rankings tonight
I was about to say the same thing!
Nelson a bit as well.
You are brilliant And keep doing what you're doing
Lisa's death count after XXXI: *stonks*
I think Moe having an actual self forever sleep death would be overstepping the line of edginess for the Simpsons.
I’m glad to see a Simpsons Mysteries episode after a year!
I think i remember a comic like that
Actually really well researched, good job!
I didn't expect each of the death tolls to be so close to each other, thanks for doing the homework for us! A fun reason to rewatch many of the treehouse of horrors segments
Technically, unless both Snowball 2 deaths were before OR after "I, (Annoyed Grunt)-Bot," but not both before and after,
Snowball 2 was killed just once and Snowball 5 was killed once.
I just want to say hi Jim... Hi Jim! Keep doing the great work! Please do some Futurama videos when you get out of ideas for The Simpsons. Bye Jim!
I always love when you get a chance to talk about newer Simpsons episodes. It's something I rarely see, most people only go as far as season 11 at the latest.
Doing these videos have been a good chance to brush up on those later episodes I don't know as well! Been fun to rewatch them!
Willie’s axe in the back deaths and ToH 5 in general will always be my favourite.
I love this channel so much
You did it again - absolutely great video! Thanks, so sorry I didn't see this on Halloween.
Some of those comments are seriously nostalgia-stroking, and quoting the same five episodes.
RealJims is a real Jim, he actually watches modern episodes, and so do I.
The next mystery should definitely be how Moe rescued the kids in "Das Bus". It was said by the narrator, but there was never any mention afterwards
Perhaps when he used the flying fan in the episode where homer became a boxer? He did use it to rescue people.

It feels like Be Nine Rewind was a response to this video
Finally. It has been a long time since the last one.
The "they save that for Christmas" line hit me at exactly the right time in the right way and I almost literally died from laughing. Thanks for that, I think.
Interestingly the Sideshow Bob Bart thing was already done in an Itchy and Scratchy short involving the cat being repeatably cloned.
I was convinced the Macbeth segment was part of a treehouse episode but it's just a random story in "Four Great Women and a Manicure", an anthology episode, yet it has Marge make Homer kill a bunch of people and has their vengeful spirits kill her via heart attack. I hope you can see why that confused me XD
Treehouse of Horror episodes are fantastic! This was indeed a very wild and interesting discussion. I love how Homer kills Flanders so much! It’s both disturbing and ironic!
The older episodes were much darker. The modern ones are too happy.
I really hope you took just a moment in the middle of counting Simpson's deaths to admire what a kickass job you have
I remember Nightmare Cafeteria giving me... nightmares. I don't think a younger version of me could handle the later Treehouse of Horrors.
After XXXI, the lisa kill count REALLY went up
Would also be interesting to see the reverse concept. Which Treehouse character has the highest body count, and racks up the most kills.
Hit it spot on with the Hans Moleman opposite day thing. But do we ever actually see Hans die or, just just in a situation where he should be dead? (car explosion, truck going off a cliff)
