He's going to be cracking, he looks really up for this, he's giving them plenty of room, and some brilliant riding! It's never smooth or foot perfect at this stage - so much going on, so many distractions, even keeping a young horse focused is a challenge in itself. It's just time and getting them out and about - then one day you get that breakthrough moment when they go into the arena, and they go to work - it all comes together. He's class, Well done. Xx
This was fun! You can see a difference in Erol when he really jumps, and then there are the baby moments. I think everyone went really well. I think M&M were the stars, and Mic was the pony we'd all like to go round a jump course on.
Ashley, thank you so much for sharing this content. Things dont always go as smoothly as we hope but you carry on and end on a good note. I thank you very much for being honest. I learned a lot from you. I am now a proud subscriber. Look forward to even more content. You are an amazing rider. Love your friends . Hubby is such an enormous support!
Totally enjoyed , love baby Eroll it’s such a big scary world & he was so tired after using up all that adrenaline . Well done both of you the last thing they do is what they remember & Eroll finished a super star ⭐️
This is gas! I remember when me and my friends were schooling some of the new ponies at the yard and this happened it was a crack 😂 , Hope ye enjoyed your time xxx
Aw well done Erol and Ash 👏 It’s all a learning process for him, I think he did really well and you’re right to be pleased with him. He slept well that night I bet 💗💤
Safety first safety always 🧡 great job everyone. Erol did very well. Remember effective riding doesn’t have to be pretty… it needs to be effective. You rode well.
This things happen on the process of training..it takes time to set partnership....and it will be set by you i m 💯 sure...The way you expose your horses is amazing ..so you ll take out n explore all talents of your horse
I thought Errol was great!! I liked in the first warm up for the third fence you showed he was, " Oh! You want me to listen??" Then, "Oh...we're here to jump!!"
Bless him..its rainy grey day in Australia and I laughed my head off..those 1st few jumps were enormous 😂..he has serious scope and thanks for making me lol literally
Well done Ashley it’s not easy when their green you rode brilliantly just repeat, repeat and suddenly the penny drops and you’ll be eventing in no time. Alison 👏
I think you were right and maybe it would have been better to call it a day after the first round; hindsight is a wonderful thing though and in the moment you did what you thought was right! Still good that you ended on a positive note for both of you, he's a super talented boy and you're bringing him on lovely.
Well done! Maybe going into the second round you didn’t need to jump in the warmup. Perhaps a responsive short go around the arena changing bend, moving off leg etc He’s so cute
Ah, Ashley, you did great ❤; Erol, though - he definitely had some struggles going on with paying 💯 percent attention to the person (you) on his back ❤😂 … we all know, that with continued development and training sessions - that’ll all change for him. 🎉. (He’s got fabulous ability - now bringing it all together - looking so forward to watching future vlogs 😊❤) - thanks for another fantastic vlog!!!
Fun stuff, glad you leave the oops moments especially with darling baby (yes he still is) Erol who got a lot of experience from this. Moving house? Hope you share some, we had so much fun watching the demo be nice to see the refit stuff...😊😊😊
Haha, he looks like his brain has been blown. Bless him. You did such a good job nursing him around the first round...now I'm off to watch the second round. 😅 Edit to add: You did great! He jumped beautifully once he was moving again. And Izzy rode Tiny really well! x
Well done girls it’s good teaching them when they are young and green that did them the world of good. Erol sure has got a hell of a jump in him. Great cameraman too lol.tfs😎🏇😎
this at merris wood! I’m so close to merris wood and I love it there❤are you close to merris wood or not?? Well done you did great I’ve fallen at merris wood once 😢it wasn’t fun at all it hurt my bum😂
It's best to touch the horse gently as another horse would do rather than pat or slap it. See Steve Young Horsemanship for the full explanation of the best way to show appreciation and affection to a horse.
Good job! He did just look not focused and a bit not tuned in. The second half looked way better. That was a great lesson to learn and a great tool for the future.
Riding a young horse is like driving in a car, with a monkey as co-pilot. Sometimes you're stuck together in a mini van with engine problems and sometimes you're in a Lamborghini, but with a faulty stick shift. 😂
Maby you should have stopped after the first round wenn it was so tiring for him. You said multiple times he is tired. He tried so hard the second round would be a shame to scare him. Ok I am hearing your comment after the ride. Good lesson for you and errol. Love seeing you two grow.
My same initial thought and then I heard her comment. And I realised: she could have edited everything out but she didn't. And I respect and admire her courage to show us how it really is when with a young horse.
Overall i liked this this video erols got a ton of jump but you're riding in this video was seriously bad. You were pulling hard on his mouth hand weren't still and no release in the jump 17:40 like come on ash i understand a green horse can be tough i own an 18,1 hh homebred 4 year old and he can be a handful but hes lovely. Please just release in the jump 🙏 i love you so much ash and You're videos always make me happy but i feel bad for little erol after this one 😢
Poor horsemanship and riding here, far too handsy and you could clearly see how tired he was before the second class so should of called it a day instead of ploughing him through fences in the bigger class. Not nice to see
Sorry, but WHY did you decide to compete in that high of a class? Surely it would be better to just have him jump 30cm round, than what looks to be around 70cm… I feel like it’s kinda stupid to just throw a young horse into a competition, when he is so unsure of jumping still… Feels a bit over the top, when he is still young and will be more experienced with time, and with starting small, not starting at higher jumps…
He jumps out of his skin and he's a willing boy❤ that's a great combination.
🥰🥰

Couldn't agree more 😊
You’re doing so well with Erol ….. no idea how the heck you stay on his massive jump!!! You’re amazing
Thanks 🙏 😊

He’s got tons of ping and scope. He’ll be fine with some more outings. Better wear a neck brace though in the meantime lol

At too low a height horses don’t concentrate enough-Erol is jumping 1m in training
what was that riding tho Ash :/
I know she's usually great but she was sitting back too much pulling his mouth and hands till his ears...
🤔🤔
