String Trimmer Carb Cleaning

- Cleaning the carburetor on a Troy-Bilt TB525 4-cycle string trimmer. In a previous video ( • String Trimmer Tune Up ), I gave this string trimmer a tune-up and replaced the deteriorated fuel lines. It still wasn't running as good as it should have, I had to leave the choke on half way for it to be usable. I had a suspicion that pieces of the old fuel line might have made it into the carb. This procedure can be used to clean any small engine carburetor. See the links below for the parts and tools I used:

You do such a nice job to allow the camera to focus on objects close to the lens, which a lot of people have trouble with. Keep up the great videos!!!
I really appreciate that comment because autofocus can be a pain sometimes but I try to show the stuff I'd want to see as a viewer. Thanks for watching!
Shout-out from down Under Australia, great video, thanks mate. 🤙🇦🇺
G'day, thanks for watching! :)
Thank you sir. I've got multiple gas powered machines that have quit on me and I'm sure that in each case, the carburetor is the culprit. I've been wanting to learn how to clean & fix them for a while now; your video is giving me the confidence to give it a go. Thanks.
That's great to hear, let me know how it goes and thanks for the comment! :)
Keep up the great work… video quality, pace, and succinct narration puts your videos in the top 5% of “how to” content on TH-cam. It’s only a matter of time, content, and massive luck until your channel blows up! 😂
PS I’ve had a similar set of Craftsman drivers for 30 years. Many things diverted from landfill with those tools :-)
Those are some kind words, I really appreciate the comment, thanks for watching! :)
This was perfect. It was orderly video was clear, some acts were clarified. This was exactly my problem.
Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad the video was helpful! :)
So lucky for me that the first yt video I clicked on is the exact same problem I have with the exact same string trimmer. would not feel confident doing this without your help.
First video? That was pretty lucky! :)

That is the Carburetor that is on my (TB304H 4 stroke.) My problem is one of the 4 screws that hold the trimmer bulb on is loose and will not tighten. My shop I used to order a new carbwas sent the wrong carb. It had 4 hose connections on it. They ordered the other listed part but have not got it in.
It sucks that one of the bulb screw holes is stripped, hopefully they get you the proper replacement this time. Let me know how it goes!
I found my carb on another model TB304S that is the same one I need. I need to go back to them and show what I found.
I have a cpl.that start n idle fine but bog to death when give throttle. Does that mean carbs dirty
I'm no pro but, in my experience, cleaning the carb has always fixed that issue for me.
Do u know what that spring is called so I can buy one for my carburetor mine is missing please answer
There were 2 springs in my carburetor but, if you can find a carburetor rebuild kit for your exact model it should include the springs. Sometimes they don't sell carb kits for carburetors this small, and your only option is to buy a whole new carburetor.
@@Mikeattempts I found on thanks
HE FOR GOT TO TIGHTEN ONE OF THE CARB MOUNTING SCREWS
I did? Maybe I just didn't show it. I don't think it would have run if it was sucking air from the gap between the engine and carb.
Great video
Thanks! :)
