Not as bendable as I was expecting, doesn’t seem like it’ll bend from everyday use. So that’s not something I need to be concerned about with mine Great video as usual.
@@kaleidoscopeon it’s totally ok if you can’t afford the new iPads, but you don’t need to be angry at everyone else that can as a way to cope and seethe about your lacks of funds.
Thanks for the comparison and your all testing. I just bought the lowest specc of iPad Pro 2024 and have to say that your tests approved even just subjective feeling about the toughness or how firm this device is. I am absolutely satisfied and have to say: perfect work, Apple!!! The device with so thin construction and so tough build!
Wow ! Very impressive test using real measured weights to create like to like benchmarking 👍👍👍👍👍. Gives me more confidence now buying the new iPad. Thanks
My biggest concern is sitting on it when it is on a bed or upholstered furniture. It seems if the weight of a human were spread out and not in a single point it would probably withstand that without damage. It's too bad you couldn't have tested that before destroying the device. How do you think it would do?
If it can withstand a small human's weight concentrated in one spot in the centre, it will handle the spread out force of a much heavier person sitting it without any problems, I would think. And even if it somehow did bend, the screen and everything still works! Very reassuring.
Good test mate , even though it’s painful to watch a good piece of hardware become fit for the rubbish bin . As for the super thin dimensions of the iPad, I can’t say I’m a fan of them , I prefer to have a bit more device that’s easier to hang onto. Thickness wise , I think my little iPad Air 4 is more than thin enough and imo a happy medium.
Sorry, but this test is not well done. You’re using the cellular iPad Pro M2 and a WiFi M4. The Cellular iPad has way more antenna lines. We can even see that the M2 iPad failed at those lines. The WiFi version is always tougher as it has fewer connections in the chassis. As a repair tech, I often see these antennas as the point of failure. And it’s way more common for a cellular iPad to be bent compared to a WiFi iPad.
I'm actually more interested on when it actually starts to bend. I always put my Ipad Pro 10.5 (2017) in a back pack and so far it doesn't bend. But recently, I noticed my daughter's Ipad 10 (bought last December 2023) bent even with a smart folio.
You got to make a screaming out loud, more descriptive and engaging thumbnail. I would got to put the words M4, 13 inch, maybe change the title to “2024 M4 iPad Pro 13 BEND TEST”
Can you send me the iPad that you tested on because I can run it using the TIYP-C port? It doesn’t matter what you send because they work with the same port. In fact, it is a dream that is almost coming true. Please reply and thank you.☺☺
now go and return them and pay the fee for broken ipads.... i'm sure you can pay the replacement fee and hopefully you had apple care for the 2020 one, or for both for that matter... the new one is just 99 bux for accidental damage if you had apple care otherwise is 999... go team!!!
How do you think the new iPad will hold up to day to day use? Of course with it being in the folio from Apple or the Magic Keyboard. Asking if I should be worried just got iPad in yesterday.
Came with expectations of the reliving the iPhone 6S+, but it looks like apple solved that issue. I assume a drop test with no case is still fatal, tho.
You should test out Mothca matte screen protectors in your screen protector roundup (if you do one for the new iPads) They haven’t released one for the M4 yet, but I’ll definitely pick one up when they do.
Who asked for a thinner iPad? Instead, customers would appreciate longer battery life, no camera sticking out, or finally a proper operating system to finally be able to utilize the fast processor.
Hi, can you test the 11" version ? Most of the yt-bers are testing the 13" with all good reasoning behind this choice. However, no one is giving any time to 11". Thanks in advance. Be well!
after watching this for 2nd time - I wonder if there is a case that is military grade - never bending case....looks like M2 was bit more resilient but M4 was almost permanently bent at certain weight - so I am bit scared to handle new iPad now lol
I remember the iPhone 6 that was folded with butter, we'll see in two or three months the lawsuits to Apple because its 2000 dollar iPad looks like a boomerang.
PSA: this is not the same kind of bend test you’ll see on JerryRigEverything. This is putting 95lbs on 1 square inch of the device. JRE and any real life scenario will be spreading this force across fingers or a backpack or a butt or whatever. I’m not going to speculate much, but expect at least double this weight from JRE and other tests.
Well I guess the most realistic way to test it will be put it on the bed and sit on like you normally on bed. Or jump sit on it like a madman😁 . This is what I would love to see
Its sad u had to buy an ipad. They are large iphones. At least android tablets are power user friendly. Ty for ur content man i literally buy everything u suggest chargers cases screen protectors

More of a practical test than forcibly bending with your hands. Great job!
Now claim damaged in shipping!
Maybe they just do out of warranty claim or pay for apply care plus. I never heard what they actually do.
Lmfao
@@MassimoTavait can’t be out of warranty. It came out today. Warranty is a year
Factory warranty does not cover damage but Apple will take your money and call it “out of warranty” repair.
🤣
I was waiting for JerryRigEverything, but this more than satisfied me.
horizontally held good with jerryrigseverything but vertically the charging port destroyed itself and the bottom screen it was bad.
Very fascinating! I would like to also see the bend test with using just hands (like how Jerry does it) to see if it has the same or different results
I saw another test where it was bent, but two people had to wail on it at the corners.
Unless Jerry can bench atleast 70lbs per hand, it won't bend
@haruyanto8085 he destroyed it...
apple said they reinforced the interior with a new metal plate and it seems to be true
It's a great video; doing it in a controlled manner is the way to go. Well done.
Would have been nice to know what the force was to permanently deform the two iPads.

That's what I wanna see! Thanks for the video, Great work, Great test!
Apple knew everyone was gonna test this, I'm sure they made it DECENTLY strong. Sounds like it's not bad for how thin it is.

Sounds like it's a touch weaker overall, but still plenty enough for everyday use, which is pretty incredible given the size reduction.
It’s great that Aaron’s bend test is scientifically executed as compared to JerryRig - just bending with bare hands proves nothing.
The screen is incredible… didn’t even crack?
A scientific bend test. What a concept!

@@SWOTHDRA Who cares about that, you cant measure the force used and its an unrealistic test.

Why do people install hardwood floors in the kitchen?
Would love to see you review the new Paperlike screen coming out for the these new iPads in June.
Hey Aaron. What’s the music you’re using? Name? Artist?
For the hardwood floor you can use a wet towel and a hot iron to make marks ang dents fill out!
This would be useful for the time I accidentally put force on my iPad through a single small point. Because that’s how my backpack is set up.
Did a lot better than I thought! I'm impressed.

It's likely more durable, but not by much. Less length would equal more resistance, given apple didn't exclude anything in the smaller chassis
