It was hard to go back to the drip coffee for a couple of days while I waited on my Keurig to get here. There is a huge difference in the taste. Keurig makes a really good cup of coffee. This new one is a little different from my old one. I find putting the water filter in was easier than on the old one. Attaching the water reservoir was also a little different but once I figured it out, it too was easier. This new one has the auto off feature but is not programmable like the old one. Only three cup sizes instead of four. The odd thing for me was how much lighter in weight this one is compared to my old one. More plastic and much less metal in the construction of this one. The price is so much less than the original Keurig that I bought and the coffee tastes the same so all in all I am satisfied.

Wow this guys video was sooo much better than the ridiculous manual that came with my new mykcup. I too was confused by the plus terminology for my k supreme plus and was literally going to go back to the store right now to return it. Its videos like this that make youtube so great. Good job
This is EXACTLY what I needed to know. I spent an hour trying to figure it out when I tried it the first time. I almost tried FORCING the piece into the machine because the stupid instructions led me to believe the side adapter was necessary. Now I will either throw away the "side adapter" or label it to be used ONLY with SOME older machines.

We have a K-Cup Supreme. You must REMOVE the red stopper. It will overflow. Also I have to grind my coffee to a fine Turkish grind, otherwise it over flows again. My old Keurig K Classic model didn't have any of these issues.
Correct the red stopper must be removed so the other four needles can do their thing. In addition, by not removing the red stopper you are literally blocking the four needles.. Keeping the red stopper on is for use on a one-needle machine so it will not cause a mess. Otherwise, the Video is great and informative.
Unless I am mistaken, if you are using this with the NEW K cup plus brewer with the five needles you also want to remove the red silicone seal in the top. Otherwise, you are blocking four of the five water streams. So, to use the new improved reusable cup, remove the basket in the brewer, and remove both the bottom attachment and the red silicone seal on the K cup. The red silicone seal is there for use with a single top needle brewer.

I just bought the Supreme version. It came with the universal cup. However, a lot of the water bypassed the coffee grounds. Another user said you're supposed to remove the red silicon ring if using the adapter with the Supreme version. I did that and now it works great now!
I got a K Supreme and the Universal My K Cup instructions were horrible. I had to view this video to be able to use the Universal Cup. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH
Yeah, I think just about anyone would. I was confused too at first. I think it's just old instructions that were written before the newer brewers started coming out a couple of years ago. You would think the new design would have better written instructions but I guess large companies have their issues too. :/
Thank you Brian. I cannot believe the lack of information given in the instructions for the Kuerig k-cup universal reusable coffee filter pertaining to the reason for the plus series brewer adaptor. I was thinking that it may be used for older models but not having an older machine in which to try it, I really had no idea. And Kuerig is not the only company that puts out extremely vague explanations in their instruction manuals. You would think these companies would have a better common business sense when it comes to their attention to detail, quality control of their communication, and ownership of the overall customer service and satisfaction, or better said their lack of, that they are projecting to their customers.
Omg thank you! I couldn’t figure this new Kcup and your video helped so much! But if you have a Keurig Supreme Plus, you also have to remove the red silicone ring under the lid of the Kcup. This allows the 5 needles to function properly. I am now enjoying my delicious cup of coffee!😃 Thank you!

I have watched all your videos over and over to find the correct coffee maker for me! I am getting ready to take mine to my Mom's house so I can have a good cup of coffee while I am caring for my parents and I am looking to upgrade mine. I am leaning toward the Supreme-I like it's added features while keeping the slim footprint w/ the water pitcher in the back!!! I am a minimalist and do not keep anything on my countertops! This is literally the only thing I keep out on my countertops - because I use it so often! And it actually takes it such little space it's not a problem! Thank you, from a light coffee drinker, but I still like an easy good cup of coffee. I bought the wrong cup (the purple ones) not realizing they differed. I have decided I want the universal one so I am not wasting money or earth space on all the paper filters. I would have in the first place but did not know there was such a thing. I live alone and don't drink much coffee, but I like to mix my own beans, so the pods are perfect. You have made me very coffee-literate. Thank you.
You saved Keurig a scathing review related to the "new design"! Pictures(and indeed videos) do 1 million more things than their documentation could. Removing the interior 'pod' ring from the Supreme machine was never explained.

I haven’t had a coffee maker and I decided to buy this model in the mini just because it’s budget friendly I might get a bigger one but right now I have a bunch coffee grinds and didn’t know how to use it so thank you for showing me I really do appreciate it because I was doing water in a pot and using a strainer to straining the coffee grinds it out you know times . Trying to save by not buying 4 drinks from coffee houses 25$ or more a day. Thanks again
That’s just great. My filter came with the universal filter in the darn box and I would’ve broken the machine trying to fit it in the supreme plus hole. And as far as using the filter goes… the reason many of us use this instead of a pot style brewer is 1) we want only one cu- not a pot, and 2) it prevents tons of pods in a landfill somewhere. Getting rid of grounds is simple you pull 9ut the filter and turn it over over o your garbage can and then rinse it out. No big deal!

Great to see how the k cup fits by removing the piece from the receptical . Nothing with my new Supreme plus said anything about removing it . I will use the refill because with a filter inside & the ability to fill several at a time & have them in waiting its just as quick as pods in a.m. & I just clean with dishes at night . Cool Beans. Something that simple. I spent at least 20 minutes thinking I was a new kind of moron that followed directions to a T and it didn't fit. You'd think the instructions would have included "If M K Cup doesn't fit, remove the useless grey part."

That clip‐on adapter that goes onto the reusable My K-cups is designed for brewer's that can make a whole Carafe of coffee or larger travel mugs , it pops-up a special selection menu on the machines with LCD touch screens. So for brewer's that don't let you make a larger mug you need to remove the adapter. I have two my K-cups for my K200 plus brewer and I use them more often than normal K-cups cause I like freshly ground coffee and larger mugs of coffee.
I have a k500 series (the high end one) since it first debuted and I use the black kcup filter which works great! I also hacked mine after the warranty ran out and now all kinds of brew choices light up! I can make a strong 14 ounce cup of coffee if I want to!
@@cynthiajfannin7986 with the My K-cups you don't need to hack the machines because that adapter on the My K-cup pushes down the little part of the K-cup holder which also moves the bottom needle , the thing in the K-cup holder has a magnetic piece inside that activates the menu when you close the brewer. Without that adapter on the My K-cup the brewer's stay on the 4 to 8 Ounce sizes and it doesn't allow you to select any other sizes or the K-Carafe Choice.
Thanks for the warning, I'm done with Keurig when my current one dies. I'm sick of them changing their cup design to force us to spend money again and again. I had used a generic reusable Kcup, but then the 2.0 model put the nix on that. So, I purchased the Keurig name brand cup, and all was well. I guess it just proves, they're not making money on the pots, they're making money on the K cups.
Ray Kroc (founder of McDonalds) once said that he wasn't in the hamburger business, he was in the real estate business. Selling hamburgers gave him the means to snatch up all the prime real estate the company could. Just imagine how much valuable real estate McDonalds owns! Now walk down the grocery store isle and look at all the brands in the coffee isle Keurig owns. There are smart business people guiding that ship.
I hacked mine and I can use any brand I want. Mine is the big boy and I still love it. I can also just pop in the black universal filter for my own coffee grind.

You are welcome, I wish it wasn't so frustrating but there are a lot of people that are in the same boat on this. Over the past week I've even started getting annoyed that they even introduced the new multi-stream machines without including an adaptor in the box for the older "Universal" My K-Cup. If it's universal then why should consumers have to buy a second one due to design changes. :/
Thanks for the clarification on this info. I've got the "K-Supreme Plus" and it came packaged with the "My K-Kup". So I'm supposing it's just a labelling error that the "K-Supreme Plus" should not have been labelled as a "Plus" machine. I tried to fit the My K-Cup with the "plus" adapter into the machine. The instructions said "press firmly". So I did. and it eventually popped through. I see your thumb has a similar wound to mine after trying to get the thing back out of the brewer!

Good god, this was helpful thank you. I could not figure out why they were telling me to use that grey adapter when it DID NOT FIT in my K-Supreme Plus. And it was brewing so watery and even though it said I could leave the red rubber thing in there, removing it was the only way I could get a decent cup of coffee. And this My K-cup came WITH the machine in the Costco/Kuerig Supreme Plus package. So dumb that they include a My K-cup and instructions that don't work with the machine. LOL. I like multi-pack generic reusable cups. You can make some ahead of time for more convenience. They may be easier to use. Run a cycle with no cup after to clean as needed.
BUT Robert. There are NOT YET generic multistream My K-Cups and I bought the supreme for the multistream. It actually tastes better. Hoping the Chinese knock one off soon. Should ANYONE find a GENERIC MULTISTREAM filter please post it!
@@SteveRamm I agree that the multi stream system makes the coffee taste way better then the old one needle system. I have a Nespresso machine (2 actually 😆) and wanted to finally try out the new keurig and omg the coffee might tastes better if not just as good as the Nespresso coffee!

Are you referring to the My K Cup adapter? I haven't used it (yet) and may never do unless I run out of K cups and have to resort to ground coffee.

Very helpful tips. Only downside to using the My K- Cup is the need to wash the filter out every time. Oh well, it is better than nothing.

SOOooooo confusing! THANK YOU...only video I could find that explained the issue with the Adapter and could not figure out how it worked. Especially since the sticker and instructions said that the adapter WAS for ALL "Plus" series! They really need to rewrite their instructions. THANKS again!!

I bought the wrong cup (the purple ones) not realizing they differed. I have decided I want the universal one so I am not wasting money or earth space on all the paper filters. I would have in the first place but did not know there was such a thing. I live alone and don't drink much coffee, but I like to mix my own beans, so the pods are perfect.

First. Thank you. I just purchased a K Supreme and additional kcup. I found your video because I was looking for one to show me how to use it. Neither box supplied instructions. I haven’t had a coffee maker and I decided to buy this model in the mini just because it’s budget friendly I might get a bigger one but right now I have a bunch coffee grinds and didn’t know how to use it so thank you for showing me I really do appreciate it because I was doing water in a pot and using a strainer to straining the coffee grinds it out you know times . Trying to save by not buying 4 drinks from coffee houses 25$ or more a day. Thanks again

That’s just great. My filter came with the universal filter in the darn box and I would’ve broken the machine trying to fit it in the supreme plus hole. And as far as using the filter goes… the reason many of us use this instead of a pot style brewer is 1) we want only one cu- not a pot, and 2) it prevents tons of pods in a landfill somewhere. Getting rid of grounds is simple you pull 9ut the filter and turn it over over o your garbage can and then rinse it out. No big deal!

Great to see how the k cup fits by removing the piece from the receptical . Nothing with my new Supreme plus said anything about removing it .
I will use the refill because with a filter inside & the ability to fill several at a time & have them in waiting its just as quick as pods in a.m. & I just clean with dishes at night .

Cool Beans. Something that simple. I spent at least 20 minutes thinking I was a new kind of moron that followed directions to a T and it didn't fit. You'd think the instructions would have included "If M K Cup doesn't fit, remove the useless grey part."

That clip‐on adapter that goes onto the reusable My K-cups is designed for brewer's that can make a whole Carafe of coffee or larger travel mugs , it pops-up a special selection menu on the machines with LCD touch screens. So for brewer's that don't let you make a larger mug you need to remove the adapter.
I have two my K-cups for my K200 plus brewer and I use them more often than normal K-cups cause I like freshly ground coffee and larger mugs of coffee.
I have a k500 series (the high end one) since it first debuted and I use the black kcup filter which works great! I also hacked mine after the warranty ran out and now all kinds of brew choices light up! I can make a strong 14 ounce cup of coffee if I want to!
@@cynthiajfannin7986 with the My K-cups you don't need to hack the machines because that adapter on the My K-cup pushes down the little part of the K-cup holder which also moves the bottom needle , the thing in the K-cup holder has a magnetic piece inside that activates the menu when you close the brewer.
Without that adapter on the My K-cup the brewer's stay on the 4 to 8 Ounce sizes and it doesn't allow you to select any other sizes or the K-Carafe Choice.

Thanks for the warning, I'm done with Keurig when my current one dies. I'm sick of them changing their cup design to force us to spend money again and again. I had used a generic reusable Kcup, but then the 2.0 model put the nix on that. So, I purchased the Keurig name brand cup, and all was well. I guess it just proves, they're not making money on the pots, they're making money on the K cups.
Ray Kroc (founder of McDonalds) once said that he wasn't in the hamburger business, he was in the real estate business. Selling hamburgers gave him the means to snatch up all the prime real estate the company could. Just imagine how much valuable real estate McDonalds owns! Now walk down the grocery store isle and look at all the brands in the coffee isle Keurig owns. There are smart business people guiding that ship.
I hacked mine and I can use any brand I want. Mine is the big boy and I still love it. I can also just pop in the black universal filter for my own coffee grind.

You are welcome, I wish it wasn't so frustrating but there are a lot of people that are in the same boat on this. Over the past week I've even started getting annoyed that they even introduced the new multi-stream machines without including an adaptor in the box for the older "Universal" My K-Cup. If it's universal then why should consumers have to buy a second one due to design changes. :/
Thanks for the clarification on this info. I've got the "K-Supreme Plus" and it came packaged with the "My K-Kup". So I'm supposing it's just a labelling error that the "K-Supreme Plus" should not have been labelled as a "Plus" machine. I tried to fit the My K-Cup with the "plus" adapter into the machine. The instructions said "press firmly". So I did. and it eventually popped through. I see your thumb has a similar wound to mine after trying to get the thing back out of the brewer!
Thank you so much for the help. New to machine. We were given a Supreme Plus and tried using San Francisco compostable pods but found they didn’t work. Bottom needed to be punctured. I would have spent much time trying to figure out how to put My K Cup in. Thank you..
Just curious: was this the SF Bay K-pods? Looks like one has to check those bottom hole punctures before using.

Good god, this was helpful thank you. I could not figure out why they were telling me to use that grey adapter when it DID NOT FIT in my K-Supreme Plus. And it was brewing so watery and even though it said I could leave the red rubber thing in there, removing it was the only way I could get a decent cup of coffee. And this My K-cup came WITH the machine in the Costco/Kuerig Supreme Plus package. So dumb that they include a My K-cup and instructions that don't work with the machine. LOL. Thanks for your video, I was getting super frustrated. haha.

I like multi-pack generic reusable cups.
You can make some ahead of time for more convenience.
They may be easier to use.
Run a cycle with no cup after to clean as needed.
BUT Robert. There are NOT YET generic multistream My K-Cups and I bought the supreme for the multistream. It actually tastes better. Hoping the Chinese knock one off soon. Should ANYONE find a GENERIC MULTISTREAM filter please post it!
@@SteveRamm I agree that the multi stream system makes the coffee taste way better then the old one needle system. I have a Nespresso machine (2 actually 😆) and wanted to finally try out the new keurig and omg the coffee might tastes better if not just as good as the Nespresso coffee!
