  • Light heavyweight champion Jon "Bones" Jones stopped by Sway In The Morning and spoke about his latest victory and how he wants to proceed in the future.
The UFC fighter recently knocked out Daniel Cormier. He disclosed that he was proud of this because Cormier had improved since their previous fight, which means he defeated Cormier at his best. In defense of Cormier's tears after the match, Jones explained that you see crying in UFC often because wins and losses are all on the fighter's shoulders, so it's taken personally.
Jones has his eye on Brock Lesnar for an upcoming fight. "The higher the risk, the higher the reward," he clarified. He has his goal set on being the heavyweight champ of the world one day, making Lesnar only one hurdle in this race.
Check out the full interview below to hear his projection for the Mayweather vs. McGregor fight, how he handles success, and more.

The case for Jones being the GOAT:
    - He has never actually lost a fight. He is 24-0, 18-0 in the UFC
    - He became the youngest UFC champion of all time (23 years old).
    - He won his title by embarrassing a Light Heavyweight legend in Shogun Rua
    - He beat his greatest rival and the otherwise undefeated Daniel Cormier twice. Barring this, Cormier himself makes a case for one of the GOATs.
    - He is naturally gifted with a reach of over 7 feet
    - He beats his opponents at their own strengths, even if that is not his intention prior to the fight
    - He always fights the best available competition and has defeated at least 5 former UFC champions
    - He won back the belt after only fighting once within a 2.5 year stretch
    - He had 8 consecutive title defenses

KyleTheNord DC tested 70 times never got popped once. You think Jones just keeps getting "unlucky"? they dont have any evidence of tainted supplements for his most recent bust.

    • @MrCholoPants3415
      @MrCholoPants3415 6 ปีที่แล้ว

Undeniably the greatest of all time, and the greatest there will ever be for a very long time. There are already guys with better technique than him, but his physique and natural gifts are really what separate him from everyone else. He's the Muhammad Ali of MMA.. Though honestly, I think Jones dominates even more than Ali did, but it's hard to say because they're different sports. Ali was also probably 100 IQ points higher than Jones lol

      James Twining
Mate, do you really think Jones needed PEDs? Whether he took them or not doesn't tarnish him being the GOAT. Vitor was on enough roids to kill a horse (do you fuckin remember how nutty TRT Vitor was??) and Jones STEAMROLLED him. PEDs do not magically turn you into the greatest fighter ever. Jones tested very low, and while idk if I believe him that it was a mistake, I still think it made zero difference in any of his fights, which makes it even more STUPID that he would even risk that shit.
DC said the same thing, as well as Rogan, Gustafsson, and a bunch of other fighters that I can't remember right now.

The case for Jon Jones NOT being the GOAT
-Has lost actually multiple times (Reyes, Santos, first Gus fight, should have been DQ'd against DC).
-He's failed more drug tests than any other fighter I can think of.
-He is bigger than most Heavyweights but over half his LHW title fights have been against middleweights.
This comment didn't hold up too well did it? XD
Jon should have been disqualified for using steroids in many of his fights but at bare minimum DQ'd against DC...seriously how come you can get DQ'd for accidentally kicking someone in the cup but pumping yourself full of steroids and blatantly cheating for years on end only gets you 1 NC. This is a major flaw. Now Jon has also lost to Santos and Reyes, Jon's real true record is now 24-4 and we have no idea how many more of those he should have been DQ'd for. Jon Jones ain't no GOAT he's a CHEETAH

It's hard to compare Silva and Jones as who is the GOAT. I think Jon is the more complete fighter, but Silva has those moments like when he front kicked Vitor, completely embarrassed Forrest and when he pulled off that submission against Chael. It's like Silva is Jordan and Jon is LeBron. Stats wise LeBron is going to win that battle, but Jordan has those iconic moments that put him over the top.

I love the respect Jon shows DC now, really becoming the GOAT. I doubt had the shoe been on the other foot, would DC shown Jon any respect if he beat him.

Jon is such a hypocrite saying he wants to be cool with DC. DC hasn’t said shit about Jon after this fight and now that DC is the double champ Jones continues to bully and put DC down. And he says he wants to to get together and be cool with him?

Man i wonder how DC feels about everyone handling him with kids gloves?
Nothing wrong with giving respect but they sound like they feel sorry for him than anything else. They bordered on insulting him in a passive aggressive way
Dont get it twisted tho, Jones is the #1 guy in MMA right now
