Comparing Jon Jones to Mike Tyson it's easy to see the difference.
      Hypothetical situation but:
Prime mike Tyson is a troubled guy and absolutely ferocious but he has a conscious. He'd could potentially kill someone in a fit of rage when his demons take over but then spend the rest of the time feeling guilty about it.
Jon Jones on the other hand is the type to potentially kill someone when his demons take over and then feel nothing about it but would pretend to care.

for me what's interesting about this guy is that he's not your typical bad guy/bully type that breaks under pressure
you can see that in that first Gustafsson fight, he is pushed to the brink but still doesn't break, he has that heart that a bully doesn't have, aside from extreme well-roundedness in the era of specialists, attributes and high fight IQ, his mental toughness is on another level.

It takes a very, very strong mentality to be as dominant as this guy has been in the sport of mma for the past 14+ years. Joe Rogan once said that Jon Jones has a dark side and he's right. That dark side plus his phenomenal talent is what made him the g.o.a.t. To have 14 title fights takes a special human being.

That was always my theory since the last time he had a run-in with the law enforcement I thought maybe Jon, as a man will finally learn to grow, and become a better person once he experiences his first loss in something that he deems the most important to him, which is his MMA career because I remember looking at a video that DC made about JJ & his last incident. He was talking about how Being in Jon’s POV the things he did outside of the UFC never affected him in the octagon so when all these people want him to change, he ask himself. “Why should he” and from his POV you can understand because he’s never lost he’s never been properly defeated, so why would he change the person that he is because the more he’s gotten deeper and deeper into that dark place the more and more he’s gotten better inside the octagon, unfortunately like you said he let it get to him, and we see the results of what happens when that’s the case

Jon Jones is like the Homelander of MMA-a sociopathic force of nature who’s impossible to look away from. There’s something terrifyingly captivating about him, both inside and outside the cage. The way he switches between the polished, media-friendly persona and the ruthless, almost sadistic alter ego is chilling. Moments like his infamous ‘I would literally kill you’ exchange with Cormier reveal the primal side he keeps under the surface, a dark edge that he uses to dominate his opponents.
He’s the kind of fighter who, a thousand years ago, would’ve been on horseback with a battle axe, leading the charge and hacking through anything in his path. It’s not just his physical dominance but the psychological warfare he brings-studying his opponents, downloading their every move, and dismantling them piece by piece. Jones isn’t just a fighter; he’s an enigma, a complex mix of brilliance and chaos that makes him one of the most fascinating figures in sports. Love him or fear him, you can’t deny he’s on another level.

As long as a "bad" person is aware that they're not "good" they can make the choice. Alot of the time p and s paths are looking for internal peace but it's always conflicted with self serving megalomania. It's a rough experience, being a dark person is some days frustrating but you wouldn't swap it for anything else. Illness or not people deserve respect. I appreciate Jones when he's being himself. So you love him for beating his wife to a bloody pulp and driving into a pregnant lady? Oh yes such a brave man, it was especially brave of him to cry like a bitch when facing the consequences of his crimes by the police and when he refuses to fight Tom aspinhal. Theory from a Brazilian. Sorry about the broken English.
In the last scene when jones is arguing and raging it seems he is doing it to his alterego. He can’t believe he just blew it again and he blames his alterego. The head-butting is the punishment to himself for being like that. It is really a curse. Amazing fighter but bad intentions.
It was an amazing performance last night and I hope he keeps doing good.

He is one of those icons who I relate to most in terms of mind and thinking. He's very intelligent yet sometimes loses it. He tests himself as to how far he can go while hurting someone or himself in process. He's a genuine, honest person and mind of a warrior. Give up isn't a word in our vocabulary.

long time loyal fan of Jon thru all his many insane ups and downs. and being his fan has not been an easy ride. it has been tempting at times to jump ship or bail on him as so many have. but i’ve made so many awful mistakes in my own life and who the hell am i to judge him? He seems to have finally realized that he is unable to drink any amount of alcohol and that social drinking is simply not an option for him. I’m the same way. Had to go thru hell before finally becoming ready to get clean and sober. But I do believe he is back on the right path and wish nothing but the best for him and his family. If his partner and kids can forgive him why shouldn’t we? As big of a fan as i am i don’t feel super confident that he is going to win this fight. Cyril is a beast of a HW, so precise, so fast, unique, great footwork, excellent timing, and solid power. I can’t see Jones beating him in a straight stand up fight. Hope he is able to use his wrestling and submit him.

He is a real man. People will get mad but a man should become "dark" in difficult situations, to survive and protect his own. These last generations have lost that, and "men" have become soft and feminine, looking to do what they are told is "the right thing".
