What makes Dave truly great is he can do a radio interview, and tell a story , and you can picture in your mind the visual onstage punchline acted out by him. For example when he said , "ever bomb so bad you get thirsty" you can see how that would look in a skit form , or the" that was my karate kid moment", and you can imagine him doing the karate kid kick. Conceptual continuity. Chappelle show connected a visual sketch show language to his stand up, and it's so ingrained in our psyche that when he speaks you can see it as he might actually imagine it ( as in a Chapelle Show skit).

I really like how Dave helped the little guy. Myself while I was on the west side there was a Father and daughter who were hungry. The daughter said” dad I’m hungry”. That’s all I needed to hear. I asked the father if I could buy him and his daughter some food at Taco Bell. I asked her what kind of tacos do you want hard or soft. She said”soft” so it’s not that she was of a different race it’s the common interest of compation that touched my heart enough to do what I could.
