    This video really helped me. I had a nozzle clog when using wood-impregnated filament, which is touchy to begin with. You get a lot of carbon buildup from the wood burning over time and it's hard to get out of a nozzle. I had gotten the nozzle hole clear using tiny drill bits, but I never thought of cold pull as a cleaning method for the rest of the nozzle. It grabbed onto all of the carbon buildup in my nozzle and pulled it out. I did it twice and I was was astonished at how much junk came out. Who knows how much other buildup was there from a year's use... Thank you again for publishing this!

      I switched to 0.6 and 0.8 nozzles for wood and corkfill filament. This solved a lot of my problems with those materials.

    Just followed your procedure, worked like a charm! First time it came out truly filthy, second time almost clean; both times a lovely nozzle cone at the end. Thanks!!

    Thanks for this video. I was working from written instructions and was doing the actual "pull" far too slowly. This helps a lot.

    Thanks a ton! Ever since one particular failed print of mine, I have been having first-layer issues with certain filaments (others were okay). After doing this process, it's like a brand new machine again with every filament I've tried!!

      If you do it after every KG then you will clear the mess it before it builds up and causes inconsistent extrusion; keep it up and happy printing!

    At the beginning, you did it too quickly and were too far away. What did you do there? What mode?

    This was a quick one since we get a lot of requests and explaining it can be confusing; please send us your questions and we'll queue up some content for y'all.

      Any generic will do, is a bit of a waste to buy a whole roll just for cold pulls, if you’d like a sample reach out la3dpr.com

    Did you use a specific filament, the wight-sh filament, or any filament that would do the trick?

    • @LA3DPrinterRepair
      @LA3DPrinterRepair  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nylon is optimal since it will stretch instead of breaking when yanked, but anything will work if you perform the procedure properly. 💪🏻🖨👍🏻

      @@LA3DPrinterRepair Is "cleaning filament" acceptable to use for this method?

    • @LA3DPrinterRepair
      @LA3DPrinterRepair  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tombellucco7155 negative, you can get it done with PLA but it's tricky, maybe a little easier with PET, but Nylon certainly works "best" in my opinion; I've got samples ready to go out, reach out if you need something...I'll get a shop online here for folks before the year is up...if we stay on target; wish us luck!

    At least tripods are very hot! Easy to use and inexpensive. And a closed window would improve the sound quality.

    Far too quick on the little buttons. Camera too far away to accurately explain anything.

  • @GeorgeGraves
    @GeorgeGraves 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    No....That's not how you do it. Anyone watching this in 2021 - go ahead and skip this video. You want it COLD. As cold as can be. 40c-50c. And follow it up by cranking the heat up to 260c. Rince and repeate. And DO NOT do this ever roll. Only as needed. And never unplug your printer while it's colling off.

    • @LA3DPrinterRepair
      @LA3DPrinterRepair  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Um what? So cool below 100 then back up? Same thing, except I call that method a “lazy” cold pull.
      Happy printing.
