I call this episode the gleeunion. Cause Grant, Mellissa and Darren all acted in glee😂
1. Yes, it is the same girl. That’s Melissa, aka Supergirl.
2. Darren’s Character is called Music Meister. He’s a DC villain who literally has the ability to force people to sing basically.
3. Yep, that’s Jeremy Jordan. He plays Winn Schott on Supergirl.
4. Carlos Valdes, Cisco Ramon, actually went to the same college with Darren.
Carlos is also an original StarKid with Darren

The episode is about them getting whammied by Darrens character and they go into this musical verse you could say and they have to figure out a way to get out of the musical m. It’s actually pretty fun to watch. And yes it is Melissa Benoist
Carlos Valdes, who plays Cisco for those who don't know, and Jeremy Jordan did so good in this. I didn't even know the Carlos could even sing.
He was an OG member of Team Starkid with Darren Criss back in college.

I would really recommend you watch the whole episode, the plot of it actually just makes the musical numbers so much better, and there a a TON of little musical theater inside jokes. I think you would LOVE it.

i wish more people would notice John Barrowman like he is a british icon. Also the other main lead in this song is part of the starkid team (worked with darren and is a close friend with darren).
Grant sings in "super friends" with Melissa as well as "runnin home to you" there's also one song between victor garber and jesse l martin. Its a really pretty song.

fun bonus info: not only was darren criss one of starkid's earliest members, but so was carlos valdes (the second guy who starts singing)! he wasn't onstage for any of the shows, he was involved in some of the music writing if i remember correctly, and he also sings as part of a duet over the credits for starkid musical twisted

In AVPM he’s the bass player and you can catch glimpses of him in the band when the camera is pointing that way (he has short hair so it can be hard to spot him at first haha)

Its a whole thing, Kara and Barry are stuck in a musical with their friends and family playing parts (only Kara and Barry are there), Darren Criss's character is basically there to teach them a lesson. If memory serves, you get Victor Garber and Jesse Martin next.

I assume by now people have already told you what is happening in the episode where this musical crossover is, basically Melissa Benoist AKA Supergirl also played a role in Glee but you still got a lot to watch before you see her, Supergirl gets put into a coma by Darren Criss' character called Music Meister who was originally in the Batman The Brave and The Bold animated series, in that he is able to control people with his singing voice but in this, he is a being that is not human possibly alien and in this, he puts The Flash and Supergirl in a coma where they have to follow the script of a musical and in reality Darren Criss is using their superpowers against the city. Darren is also teaching them a valuable lesson to do with their separate partners. Barry Allen is played by Grant Gustin who is also in Glee and you have already seen him in the Smooth Criminal reaction.
You totally have to listen to the flash singing come running home to yiu
And Jesse L Martin, Victor Garber, and John Barrowman's number.
If you want more Jeremy Jordan, he was also a star in the second season of SMASH, a tv series about Broadway. Several great performances there, but I recommend Heart Shaped Wreckage.

Yes!!!😁 He's the guy with the white suit in this clip. His character (Malcolm Merlyn/Cutter Moran) is technically from the show "Arrow", but Grant's character (Barry/the flash) knows of him and has met him before.
I love them all in this song (and I fully fangirled over Jeremy Jordan like you did) but I gotta give some love to John Barrowman!! He's such a great singer and deserves some love! So many musical theater actors!

i actually met jeremy in the stage door when he was doctor pommatter in waitress and besides him being obviously insanely talented, he is also a huge sweetheart. I told him i had came from Brazil. and I thought he would just pass through like "cool!" and keep signing playbills, but he kept asking me questions about how musical theater was in Brazil and I had to walk along with him while he was signing some other playbills, he has such a good energy and is such a wholesome person
Fun fact: everyone that sang in this episode did in fact had some sort of background in musical theater.

I firmly believe that this is an episode that was written because someone in the writers room went "Wait, we have like half a dozen Broadway people on pay roll... we probably should do a thing with them" because when you have that kind of talent lying around, you find an excuse to make them sing.
I always thought 3:44 was still Jeremy singing. Was floored when I realized it was actually Carlos. Wow

I don't think we're ready for this, Jeremy Jordan is one of my personal favorites of all times and the Arrowverse is the first group of series I ever watched and enjoyed (back when it was good), can't wait for the rest, especially superfriend, and I think you'll like their version of More I Cannot Wish You.
Also this has Darren Chris, someone who makes every song he sings a thousand times better.

This episode is full of so many incredible reunions/crossovers!!!
- To start, there’s the Supergirl/The Flash with a bit of Arrow/Legends thrown in
- Glee, of course, with Grant, Melissa, Darren, and even the choreographer
- University of Michigan - Darren, Carlos Valdes, and Pasek & Paul all went to school together (Carlos can even be spotted playing bass in A Very Potter Musical starring/written by Darren when they were both at U of M)
- Grant and Chris (Mon-El) also went to the same college
- Jesse L Martin and Jeremy Jordan did a movie together - Joyful Noise
- And of course, just the presence of Broadway/West End legends like Jeremy Jordan, John Barrowman, Jesse L Martin, and Victor Garber
My only complaint is not enough singing, I need more!!! (Especially from Darren and Jeremy and Carlos!)

Correction. The Pilot of the Flash actually became the most watched premiere in the history of CW and the most watched show on the CW for 8 seasons.
In almost all the episode, they're in like a dream world against their will and Darren criss is the reason, that's why they're refusing to sing and yes it's Melissa benoist (ben- oist, like moist, said in an interview she knows it's the American pronunciation but that's how she does it)

The fourth featured singer (after Darren Criss, Jeremy Jordan and Carlos Valdes) is John Barrowman, btw. He was mostly a part of the cast of Arrow, though he has appeared in other Arrowverse shows like here in The Flash. John Barrowman has had an extensive career on stage and screen and as a recording artist. You should react to the awesome live duet he performs with Daniel Boys, "I Know Him So Well". You should react to one of Kurt's (Chris Colfer) songs from Glee!! Not The Boy Next Door is AMAZING!! His voice is so unique and I've never seen a vocal coach react to it before, and I'd really love to learn more about it!!
I seriously think the writers of the flash just one day looked around at the cast and was like, "why do we have so many singers here". "well, we should use them then". The off chance that they happened to cast so many trained singers is funny. We have two glee actors (Supergirl and the flash), Jeremy jordan, Carlos Valdes who is a singer (records albums), john barrowman (broadway) and Victor Garbor (broadway and rent).
Also Jessie L. Martin (Broadway and was in the original cast of Rent), you will hear him sing later in the episode. They also have Tom Cavanagh (Urine town and broadway), Chris Wood (did the national tour of Spring awakening and broadway), and Keiynan Lonsdale (records albums), but they sadly weren't able to use their voices in this episode as well as all the others you mentioned.

I just can’t believe JEREMY FREAKING JORDAN literally made the soundtrack for the greatest showman and performed it for the big film producers then hugh Jackman stole the scene and then Jeremy got nothing in the greatest showman and none of the credit

It wasn't exactly "all in their head" because as Darren's character tells them "if they die in this world, they also die in real life.". So, it was, but it wasn't.

As much as I love Jeremy Jordan, which is a lot, I think she sleeps on Carlos (Cisco a bit in this song). A lot of those high notes were him as well but because he was largely followed by Jeremy, he went unnoticed. Him at 2:45, 3:25 and 3:44 are amazing but aren't recognized as much as Jeremy and Darren/
