Big smiles today over the personalities of your beautiful creations. You have had such a good eye for making them even more adorable than in your book. My smile widened even more when you claimed that after the sloth you would do only one more...the monkey. I think it might always be "just one more", but that monkey is so cute. Thanks to Pete for modeling and joining in on this one.
Thanks Zena, Hadn't thought of it quite like that but you're right to have that connection with Pete's dad is for us very special. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Many thanks, Pene, for another lovely chinwag. I’m just back from a few days away and now we have visitors - so I’ve stolen a little time for myself to watch you before I get up this morning! It was so interesting to hear about the swallow in your fascinating fact, and to see your film at the end. I am also enjoying seeing Tommy growing up - what a happy smile! Of course, I’m completely with you on the topic of the knitted animals speaking to you!!! I loved hearing what they’d been telling you. There’s absolutely no shame in using our imagination - definitely not something that should stop just because we’re no longer children! Have a lovely break and I look forward to next time. Xx
Hi Helen, How lovely to have a few days away and visitors. I am in the same boat which really makes a change. thanks for making time to watch. We've been back around our block but haven't seen the swallows and so I felt really happy to have caught them on film. Tommy is the most contented baby I have known. On the move now! Enjoy these summer days.
We had barn swallows in our barn. All along the ceiling joists were their nests. As annoying as it was to get them swooping down on you and walking around the poop piles under the nests, it was still exciting to watch the parents feeding the hungry broods. I don't know where they go to spend the winter from here🤔. We have tree swallows where I live now. Pretty and musical. They nest in our bluebird nest boxes. Very rarely do I see a bluebird. Looking forward to Edward's debut! Have a great two weeks. Thanks for sharing.🤗
Thanks for your info on swallows, so interesting to hear about the diversity. I shall look up tree swallows; how wonderful to see their families fledging. See you soon. xx
Enjoyed getting to hear the doings of your animal beings. Your jumper looks good on Pete. Episode , as always, full of information that gives me food for thought. I liked getting to know Pete's dad and how he provided for his family.
Morning Pene. Lovely chinwag again this week. Such fun to hear the adventures of your knitted friends. Think a striped version of your sweater is a great idea. Interesting to hear about pete's dad. My husband uses a cut throat razor so had seen a strop before. It's been a bitter sweet week here. Andy's mum is quite poorly but grandchildren came back from holidays and cheered us up. Have a good week.🌻
Hi Angela, A steady hand is needed for the razor! How encouraging to see the grandchildren just when needed. Best wishes to Andy and his mum. See you next time. xx
Really enjoyed chinwag today. You brought along some peace into my chaotic world! I’m knitting the rabbit from the book right now and you are correct…it does take some concentration! Slowly but surely!
Chaos is such a good word picture. So pleased you had some time of peace. Knitting and concentration are brilliant tools for slowing down. See you next time, take it easy and thanks for your comment. xx
Hello Penny, I have only knitted George the Dog and I’ve just sat and watched your podcast while knitting some socks and George is sat on the dresser looking at me and he has just told me he’s lonely and I could learn a lot from you 😂 I found your podcast a couple of months ago and I absolutely love it xx
How wonderful, we have the same name, the same dog and I'm glad I'm not the only person whom the dog talks to. Sounds like your George just needed permission! So happy you love the podcast and thanks for messaging.
Another great vlog Penny....I do look forward to it every week....loved the sweater, and I look forward to all the stories you tell....Pete's dads tale was very interesting....I love hearing all about the past....looking forward to the next one....enjoy your break...🥰 x x x
Another interesting podcast ❤ Your observation of signs of autumn coming in August rings true with me but it’s the other way around here in NZ I can see the signs of Spring coming here especially the birds increased activity . I love watching your films of the birds some we don’t get here ..we have bird feeders here in the garden to attract the Tui a native bird which feeds on nectar they are so lovely to see . Thanks again
Hi Tracey, How I wish we were looking forward to spring! I looked up the Tui bird and it looks gorgeous. What variety and gorgeousness in the bird world! See you next time.
I live quite close to San Juan Capistrano which is famous for its Swallows. They have a festival welcoming back the swallows in March called The Fiesta de las Golondrinas . I think Looney toons or Disney made a cartoon about them which made it a tourist attraction. I googled it as I didn't trust my memory and found that Bing Crosby sang about them too. We visit every year or so to take family from the UK to the Mission. When driving along the freeway there are friezes of swallows decorating the walls and fences so you know you are passing Capistrano on the way north (for us) on the way to LA. Swallows nest under the freeway bridges over lagoons and lakes around San Diego. Thanks for a lovely chinwag. Jane
@@penelopeschinwag they can be made in the same amount of time as a sweater. I am on leg island. 🤣 I wanted to tell you I have a black bear that frequents our back yard. He has been leaving presents. 😳😂 I had to bring my bird feeders in until hibernation begins again.
@@tinakercher8768 Oh my goodness a black bear! I can't imagine it. Thanks for sharing - I love to hear your experiences. Leg island - I can imagine that. I've gone down a rabbit hole looking at patterns. I might do some. Gorgeous and warm.

Thanks for that lovely comment Jane. I have looked it all up and would love to see the sight.
I like the sweater you want to knit. You could match Pete! I am in the process of knitting leggings. I hope to finish before it gets cool.
My goodness Tina - leggings - what a feat. How warm and snug.
